Good morning, I'm from trinidad 🇹🇹 and came across your UA-cam video. Enjoyed the video and loved your reviews / commentary. Doubles originated in Trinidad and the bara (dough) is actually supposed to be very thin, almost transparent. Tamarind balls are usually sour but once made rite, with alot of sugar :) 😃 and other spices, it delicious and should be eaten in smaller bites. Thank u all. Have fun and stay safe.
Try doubles from Trini Delite in Richmond Hill. Just the best I’ve tried in a long time. Comparable to local Trinidad made. Love that you guys try other foods especially putting Trinidad out there is special to me!
Yesterday I tried doubles from Ali roti on utica.. then I went to De hot spot and man it was so darn good. Ali was just ok to me. But De hot spot was amazing. Also, last month I tried Trinciti in queens and it's good too.
The two of you are hilarious. I really love the vibe. The headline for this video is what grabbed my attention and as I was preparing to watch it, I was saying to myself, "best doubles in Brooklyn had better be from the Hot Pot!" LOL! 10/10!!!
Hello beautiful friends, I'm from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean islands and I'm always happy to see our international friends enjoying our local foods. I love doubles and many of our local food here in my country. Thank you for sharing your video with us.
You guys need to try trincity roti shop or tropical jade express 3 or Singh’s roti shop on Liberty Ave in Richmond hill Queen and buy the tamarind ball that 4 in a pack some are sweet and some spicy
I love how you guys are enthusiastic about doubles. Am from Trinidad and I love doubles for breakfast. Are you or your ancestors from china because Chinese food is my favorite go to ❤️
Tambarind (tambran) balls are not supposed to be very sour but more sweet than sour because it is coated in brown sugar. So maybe the person that made those tambarine balls used the fruit that was not fully ripened.
ey nice that ylu are trying Trini doubles😁 but first you are eating wrong an secondly you have tp come to Trinidad to try the real ting 😁😁😁😁😁and the dough is called "bara"
How you have not gone to Trinidad Golden Place on Nostrand Ave and St. Johns--and only $2?? Their doubles blow all the others out the water! I've a block away from Da Hot Pot and I still get on the bus to Golden Place
You gotta go up to Toronto for good roti & doubles. They are literally on every other block there as the Trini population is massive in Toronto. Much, much, much better than anything I've had around Liberty Ave or in Bedstuy.
In Ontario (Canada) double s are $3-4 each! And the portion is puny, half of the channa that I saw in your video. It sucks so bad. And I don’t have the patience to make them at home… so I pay the ridiculous high prices .
lmaoooo you could have just whipped out your phones and used the GPay app for the OMNY instead of using the laundry money XD but your video was so fun! Keep it up ^_^
Nice video but I have to say I prefer Suzys doubles, I prefer the less greasy bara and more flavorful, the place is a LOT cleaner than most other establishments which is a huge factor for me. As for the tamarind balls, take smaller bites, its not a donut , its meant to be tangy and sweet at the same time !. thanks !
I Love how they charge the old Trinbago price away too😂😂😂😂I know some places in bago doubles be way to expensive and see how flour price gone up again pain yes.... Doubles might become a rich man food soon🥲 but I do wonder how the taste varies comparing doubles in the States to in Trini. Cuz I know comparing Bago and Trini doubles the taste is vastly different. I'll love to hear feed back on it from anyone who ate both from Trinidad and from the States.
I've never ventured back to my original stomping grounds since leaving for Queens. I actually leaved right on Church Avenue near where you guys were. Flatbush and Linden is where the public library I used to visit when I was in grade school. Maybe you guys will get a chance to hit Liberty Avenue for more Guyanese and Trini food. There's a great Guyanese Chinese restaurant named Good Hope. Tell me if that's 10 outta 10 when you visit.
Anand Ramjattan: thank you. I don't know what these two know about doubles but it made me upset to hear them give a rating. Doubles in Trinidad are better because the ingredients may be the same but the quality of the products used in Trinidad is better and the food is authentic. If they ever tried the doubles in Trinidad, I just wonder how they would rate them. There will be no comparison.
You guys are great but you have to learn how to eat doubles the right way not like a burger or sandwich but with your hands dipping and picking up d Channa with bara🇹🇹💯
You paid $ 5 :00 dollars for a doubles that looks like a flat bread that is oliy and in Trinidad we pay $ 5:00 tt dollars so in you all paid $37:00 for one doubles, hmmmm .
Hey so I loved this but you pronounced EVERYTHING WRONG! Please do a part 2 and also here's the correct pronunciations: "The Bread"/" Dough"- Bara (Bar-ah) "Doubles"- Even tho its just 1 doubles you bought its STILL doubles. Also when she said the dough is "sweet" 1:07 its not the bread which is sweet there's actually tambarran sauce in there which we call here in Trinidad "Sweet Sauce".
That’s not how you eat doubles!!!! I take offense to how you ate it!! 😂You eat the top half first grabbing some channa from the bottom. Then you finish it off. All good glad you enjoyed it. Ali’s doubles been around for a number of years. Ali’s was the only doubles I knew as a kid living in T&T!!
They are eating it like a sandwich. And they called it fried dough and bread. In case they don't know, it's called bara and the entire thing with the channa is called doubles.
Who are these people and what do they know about Trinidad doubles that they are giving them a rating? First of all, it's not fried dough or bread: it's called bara (one is bara, two are doubles with the channa). It would taste differently depending on what condiments you put in it. When buying Trinidad food, please ask questions and get the correct information. I just had to laugh at these people critiquing the doubles. Why don't people try other Trinidadian food and why don't people recommend that they try something other than roti and doubles. After all, Trinidad is country/island made up of different cultures. So let's enjoy all of them.
Hi Judy, we appreciate criticism! We’re not professionals and just a couple of New Yorkers who love trying food from different cultures. Luckily we live in a city where we can try food from all over the world on any given day. Thanks for watching.
@@thebtgsofnyc5891 Didn't mean to be harsh with my criticism because I have seen other people do the same thing. I just want you to ask questions when you go to various restaurants about the food. Sorry, no offence intended. Good luck to you both in your future ventures. If you go to any Trinidadian restaurant in future I want you to try something else beside roti and doubles . 🇹🇹🇨🇦 You can reply to my comments anytime. I welcome that. Just trying to give some constructive criticism. Good luck to you both again. Keep posting the videos. I will be looking forward to them and I can see that you are both very young.
Who is you? What you know about doubles? You eat all the doubles in the world? Since when condiments alone make a doubles? Taste is subjective and these individuals are free to give their opinion on the doubles they've tried, they don't need to be 'doubles experts' to rank foods that they have eaten relative to all other foods they have eaten.
@@qick07 first of all, learn to speak proper English. It's not "who is you", it's " who are you"?.second of all, read the reply to my comments from this couple and then read my response to them. And in case you don't know, everybody cooks the channa differently either by boiling it or cooking it like a regular curried dish so it would taste differently. Next, some people, when they make their bara, it's sometimes thicker than others. And last of all, different condiments like shadon beni, tamarind sauce, pepper sauce, cucumber, or coconut will affect how the doubles taste. So whoever you are? Don't tell me about doubles and bara. My mother is East Indian and we grew up eating Indian food. Why don't you reveal your identity? Like I said before, learn proper grammar before you attack anybody. Try A & A doubles on Fulton in BedSty. Since I moved to NYC it's the closest to what I remember from Trinidad.
A & A was actually the first double we ever had and we’ve been hooked ever since! We got too full and we didn’t make it there this time.
@@thebtgsofnyc5891 Good eating. 👍🏽😁
Try Trinciti in Richmond Hill, Queens. That's the other go to spot in NYC.

How do you guys fit all that food in your bellies? Lol you guys are so funny.
