Thanks man. I just gave my old outliner new life. I cut the top off like you showed us and did all adjustments. Now it cuts like new and looks cool. Thank you
I found that if you cut your T- Outliners off when you step back and look at the line up or every time the Trimmer comes off the clients head you can use them all day with out them over heating.
You have really good and informative videos. I do my own line ups and sometimes cut my friend's and nephew's hair, so I am not a serious barber, but it's still good to learn from your content. I do electrical work for a living as my main job, so I have a lot of knowledge with electricity. Just FYI, those 2 wires aren't positive and negative. The black wire is the hot that gets power from the outlet, and the red is the switched hot that feeds power to the motor when the switch is on. The white would be the neutral.
@@UA-camBarberAcademy As long as you put wires back where they came from it doesn't necessarily matter what they're called. As far as barbering I am not interested in doing it as a career. I just like to cut my friend's hair every now and then. Built-in obsolescence is why we have to keep buying new ones. They don't make things to last like they used to. I wonder what kind of degree they'd want to hire someone as a designer.
@@illestofdemall13 I have a question for you. Yesterday as I was cleaning my Andis T Outliners I somehow broke the red wire from the little metal thing that the screw is in. I don't have soldering equipment so I just stripped the wire back and wrapped it around the screw. It works again but what problems may I come across since that little piece of metal is gone that the screw originally went through? I hope I'm making sense. img.ua-cam.com/users/viWaN2ifH5iF0/hqdefault.jpg It looks like what's on the end of the wires in the photo.
Brooooooo.... I was stuck your one comment saying make sure you put the negative screw on first before the small gold piece and positive side second saved me lol. Thanks for the detailed video!
I have seen other videos where they mention to trim them down, so they won't get too hot, which makes more sense, you don't have to trim them down to make adjustments, they do get warm/hot in about 10 minutes
I know it doesn't matter, but did you notice the switch-up of the red and black wires? Just wanted to say, I really do think your channel is underrated. You may not have the expensive cameras or flashy intros, like other more popular channels, but your explanation of the fade is the best I've seen. I've known to use the corners of the clippers, but you've explained the reason why for those that don't. The little details that are hardly ever mentioned, and overlooked by the veterans, need to be taught to those coming up in the barber life. Just wanted to say thank you and sorry for the long comment.
Nail glue and floor tiles , ingenuity at its finest lol.... actually a great video, you were able to bring those t-outliners back from the dead guud sht

Hey UA-cam Barber, Did everything you said cept for the skeleton part (which imma do) but now my tliner is leaving lines??? Is is because i set the blade on wrong? Also REALLY appreciate your Fade tutorials started on my sons a couple of months ago 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. Got me feelin like a barber wit all the compliments 🔥🔥🔥
Your videos are excellent my man! Subscribed. I'm looking at a second pair of T liners and doing this modification on my older set with a fresh blade. Is the primary reason to trim them down, so you can control the tension?

Buddy the smoker up the block that is an “expert” at everything for $10.00. FoH those blades weren’t centered at all, lopsided weight distribution is why the blades wear uneven. Smh. Barber Academy? More like meth shop
Been a cosmetologist for seven yrs and just got a pair of these a couple months ago, before I had always used the oster t finishers which suck ass compared to these (why didn't I discover the t outliners yrs ago is beyond me) but anyway this sounds like a dumb question but what is the purpose for cutting off the plastic top? And what would cause this trimmer to pull fine hair?
Did the same thing to a pair of old t outliners i just bought. Cleaned them changed the blades , cleaned the switch & skeleted them . I may have gone wrong somewhere bcuz when i try to screw the case down and the pressure applies the case overlaps the designated bracket trenches and when i turn it on the case buzzes like mad. By chance do you have the model number,I will appreciate it if you can help me with the model number of this older model so that will help me in looking out for it.
They don't make them like that anymore what they shipping you is what they make now only way your getting a older model is if you buy a used one. Why do you want the old one anyways?
I broke my regular blade yesterday and here they only have gtx blades in el salvador is harder to order things onlin shipping is too expesive so will the T ouliner work good with the Gtx blade? I really apreciate you help man
Your technique for setting the tension on the spring arm really needs improvement. It's not just a matter of pushing the spring down but adjusting the nylon ball to properly meet the cutter blade opening.
Sharpened it against a stone. I know it's a difficult concept to grasp, so difficult even our cave ancestors had this idea long ago. The first cavemen actually had a meeting about sharpening objects on stone and one guy said "I'm out." He failed to find a suitable mate because all his shit was dull and the men who used stone gained an advantage. He perished long ago, glad you are here to keep his spirit and memory alive.

How do you keep your cutter blade in place when you screw your blades back on ?😮
To make the blade more even you could rub it on a grind stone it will also sharpen the blade as well.

so does zero gapping make your trimmer hit like crazy and leaves thos white marks on the hairline?
I wish I could have found this video before I donated my old outliner to the thrift store
