I bought one of these a couple of months ago and as long as they continue to make them i shall own one till i cannot drive anymore. Its so much fun i sold my motorcycle 3 weeks after I bought it. Anyone thinking of it, do it! Although do yourself a favour and buy the 6 speed manual. Automatics miss the whole point of this car.
I could never buy an automatic Miata! That takes away from the whole driving experience with this car! I couldn't sell my bike for this lol I love mine too much, but everyones different and enjoy the new toy!!
Im a 2017 GTI Clubsport MK7 owner, (as seen on my channel) and have been comparing this to the Lotus Elise. But i must say for the money it seems you get more bang for your buck & quality feel on the Miata than the Elise. All of those 3 cars are interesting as they share pretty much the same price point. Diffrence being the GTI is a hatchback so its more practical with a backseat and larger trunk. Miata & Elise being sport coupe's, instead have the luxuary of "removing roof" & thats were the Miata seem to shine 🙂
Probably my favorite new car on sale. Really appreciate that Mazda knows exactly what the Miata is supposed to be and doesn’t use it to chase market trends or mess with the winning formula. Wish more cars on the market were like that. Though personally, I’d probably go for a soft top and go lighter on the options.
Look at that nice, cool car you’ve got to test on a nice Spring day! IMO that is one of the nicest, prettiest, cars available, with a very large fun-to-drive quotient. Those lines on the front really make the car stand out!
I have this exact car in Jet Black Mica with the same B/B/R package and man it is so much fun to drive, you were definitely being tame with it haha. I love just zipping around in it and daily I get people coming up and asking me what it is so it's an eye catcher too. Also the Miata owner community is so awesome I see others out on the road and the drivers just wave at you and smile because they know just how much fun you are having in it.
It's definitely a fun car for sure! And yeah not driving it too crazy for a dealer car, but driving my friends Miata, it's so much fun! Great little car that has a lot to offer!! Love the hard top design too!
I agree with everything you said. You'll certainly have fun in the car even though it's not the fastest. I think it's perfect for daily driving. If I can daily drive a Fiat 124 Spider and have no problem fitting groceries and bags in, I don't anticipate a Miata having much trouble, either. Awesome review!!
The Miata looks good .. I love the manual and analog gauges. I do own a low miles bone stock 93 FD RX7 turbo, so I’m a huge Mazda fan. I wish the Miata had more power but I’m knit picking a great car. That said at just short of 40K .. I think I’m going to get a Hemi, Coyote or LT1 🤣🤣🤣!! Great review .. makes me appreciate the current gen Miata a bit more

It’s best to take your driving test in a manual car, so that you can drive both manual or automatic cars after you’ve passed, especially if you reside in Europe where manuals are more common.
Some people started to drive in an automatic car after they’ve passed, regardless if they’ve passed their test in a manual. Are most cars in Omar manual or automatic?
I would agree, I think people would be better at driving if they knew how to actually operate a manual! But then again there are some crazy manual drivers lol
We sadly don’t get turbo Mazda’s in Europe besides the Skyactiv D which are turbocharged. I’ve seen Mazda is working on an inline six; hopefully they bring the turbocharged version to Europe.
I thought the 2021 miatas came with a touchscreen infotainment? Joe raiti from raitis rides just released a video on his review of the car and it had a touchscreen in his review unit 🤔
He should definitely check it out and make sure he is comfortable in it before the purchase. But I'm 5'10'' and my friend who owns one is about 6'2'' and he fits fine in it!
I agree. Im not knocking the Miata at all, but its like, it seems like they get to near perfection, but then stop short just before optimal perfection. For total perfection IMO: A small accessible rear deck or bench-like deck behind the seats, about 6inches wide to rest your coat or briefcase and for women to have a proper place for their purse. And to add ONE more little thing to achieve perfection: should be over 200hp and torque. 225 would be SET
It’s also worth learning in a manual car so that you can have the choice of driving an automatic or a manual car after you’ve passed your driving test.
I’d learn in a Volkswagen Polo, which has a manual, but my mom only has a 5 speed gearbox. Cos in the UK, insurance is quite expensive for new drivers.

The mustang was just as fun but wasnt good on gas (22-27mpg) vs the miata (33-39mpg) and was more dangerous with my son in the car . 120mph feels like 80mph in the mazda . Fortunately for me , a ford dealer offered me $41k for my mustang without having to buy anything from them which was more than i paid new. I love the hard top and its a blast to drive around with my son . Having fun at 60mph is a much better decision than at 120mph when you have a kid. The coyote motor is the best motor ive ever driven under 80k .
@@tredfxman i looked for a gti before the miata but they didn't have any new ones in stock. I looked for a golf R but they stopped making them and a used one was the same price as new so i leased a miata. Glad though since i hear the integra is coming back .
It doesn't make it less cool. Everyone has a preference of what they want/like! For car enthusiasts, the manual is just much more fun to drive, to be able to control the gears and give you that fun factor and being connected to the car! It's more fun on mountain roads and it's not for everyone! I think driving manuals are cooler and more fun, but that's me!
@@WizardTerence I just had a light bulb moment. I had the e-brake on and in newer cars I have found that they shut off with the e-brake engaged, but being a manual I had to have that on so the car wouldn't roll!

Have you ever been in one!? I wouldn't buy one because it's not my style, but they are very fun cars to drive! My friend has one and he kept up with our 600 HP GTR in the mountains because it's so nimble and handles incredibly well! No it's not fast in a straight line but it's amazing in the turns!

As you know, there's a great deal of cheap plastic inside. In addition, the ride was very rough. I dont mind stiff cars but this was too much and i would think this will destroy your back for long distance travel. Plus i didnt like the fact, the you have rev it to the high RPMs to get this subie going. The manual transmission felt too notchy, it was somewhat annoying shifting from 1st to 2nd and gears wasn't smooth even though i tested the one with the short throw shifter. Also considering this is 4 cylinder, the MPG is horrible, almost worst than my V8 mustang. Comparing a STI to Miata are apples and oranges, they are 2 type of breeds. I have to admit the STI is fun to drive and hearing the rumbles makes music to my ears but i cant justify the reliability in the long run. The Miata wins hands down as far for reliability. I was planning to get the Miata since you dont see that much on streets and is always fun to drive even though its not the fastest coupe . However considering they are bringing the Integra back, i might wait for that and see how it is. Also, how the new STI's are going to be.....

I do wish they offered some more power, but it’s still good as is! An increase would be nice though! And the soft top is cool, very easy to use!
With it being so low your going to feel like your going fast even when you are not and I think that is a big bonus.

I've been in the Fiat version and pretty much the same car! But yeah plenty of room for how small the Miata is! It's do able for everyday driving!

To me, it’s a smaller, non-turbo and cheaper BMW Z4.
