I would've never ever thought the pink rose plate was tissue paper!! it looks amazing & rich!! not cheap at all...great job hun
hi
Learnt this years ago. So nice to see it again. Love the pink flowered one. Just lovely. Now I'm getting the gitters to make some myself. But we used and cut out the pattern of gift paper and painted the back with black acrylic paint to bring out the colour and, to protect it.
Use a balled up piece of saran wrap to smooth the tissue paper down
Thanks for sharing. I make pedestal plates and have a hard time finding plates that I really like.....but this idea opens a whole new world of possibilities for me. And I read below that someone used fabric. I can''t wait to grab a few glass plates and give this a try. Thank you for your inspiration !
I use fabric. It is much easier to keep the rinkles
I absolutely love the flower plates thank you for sharing
glue another layer in the back but this time with backing glued on so you can see the pics from back too. let it dry, use decorative varnish gloss 20 times on it. It will be shiny and like glass from back also.
Very lovely. I never tire of decoupage and have been at it since the 1960's when it was a hip thing to do and was being done by the hippies who were also doing tie dying and weaving and abstract art and endless creative crafts.
Very nice for family Christmas Gift with goodies.
These are always so fun to make and they turn out so pretty! I did want to give you a little help with your wrinkles. If you go over your wrinkles with a piece of crumpled up plastic wrap, it smooths the wrinkles almost completely out of the paper. Such a nice trick! Yours are lovely!
Love the tip about the plastic wrap! Will be sure to give it a try. Thanks
you are the bob ross of crafts. you make me feel so safe and able to do anything
Bob Ross - LOL. That's quite a compliment. Thanks!
Very beautiful!
This was the most beautifully wonderful, easiest idea for glass plates (I have 4, but don't use them for meals. These will enhance my new kitchen once I move. I also think this technique will work on the glass shelf of my metal vanity, which I plan to turn vintage. I'm looking for napkins, paper or gift bags as we speak. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing, I cannot wait to try this out! So many ideas for this technique!
Thank you , it’s been. Long time since I made these , but I did pick up some helpful hints , like the glass for drying ...will make these as favors for my moms 90th birthday..give a little stand with it
Great idea and so customizable! Thanks for sharing this how-to.
Definitely a soft relaxing voice.... beautiful plates!! Love it!! Thank you!
the pink rose plate is beautiful and I love that it can be a temporary plate to change around for events
Love the pansy plate! I used to do this with wrapping paper on the inside of glass vases for silk flowers. We didn’t have the dishwasher safe kind way back then. I’m subscribing right now!
I’ve always wanted to learn how to do this. So Tk you Grandma! Now I can create my own.
thank you for sharing Grandma good idea, I think when I have lunch with the girls and we have something cold like sandwiches or coffee and dessert I think I'll make a small set👍
Awesome I will try this for my tea party
Decoupageing is fun thank you , beautiful tutorial.
there is also dishwasher safe mod podge on the market that you can use and it allows you to decoupage just like that, but also allows the plate to be put in the dishwasher on the top rack. i'm making mine right now...a glass plate that is decoupaged with butterfly fabric :)
excellent idea.....I was wondering about an acrylic spray over the Mod Podge also....
I have heard about the dishwasher safe mod podge but I have never tried it. It's on my list! :)
I once put one of these dishes in the dishwasher and it melted. I would not chance it.
Stacie Larson hi, you mean I can put in water this plate and wash it as normal?
Stacie Larson, thank you for that information I will get it.
You can brush it with resin to hold better in water.
Beautiful!!😍
Loved your video. I also have made these plates using the double thick paper napkins, just separating the two layers. Seems like they came in far more designs than tissue.

I have seen these made with the napkins and they were just as beautiful as these gorgeous plates. Great tutorial with such a gentle, easy-going voice. Subscribing now!
Why am I watching this at 2am on a school night in 2020😂
I'm watching this at 12am stuck in the house back home from colle during quarantine in 2020, boy have times changed :(
Because you like it, no harm in that!
I used to do this as a wall hanging. When I did, I accented the plate rim with gold acrylic paint.
Gorgeous!!!!
I can't find such beautiful tissure paper or napkins anywhere. That's what I have found about youtube videos. The people doing the decoupage have gorgeous paper. I have even gone online to UK stores and still can't find ones as nice as yours.
Very very nice. Looks really elegant. You could even go a step further and add some gold around the edges. Thanks for sharing.
These plates turned out so stunning & pretty!
You have got to be the sweetest person ever. Your voice is so calming & relaxing .💙💚Thank You Dear for sharing your sweet [d.i.y.] video.

Mod Podge make a gloss finish that's dishwasher safe. It'll make it like glass. I use it on my plates I do like this but with fabric. Great job! They are beautiful!

I never used tissue before. I used fabric. Very lovely.
I wanna turn all my clear glass plates into plates with cookies on them. 😘😘 really awesome, and thanks for sharing!
Lovely! Another idea is to use cling film (Saran Wrap) to minimise wrinkles.
Well, I just saw this video! Beautiful! Hope I can do it. I don’t do well with napkins. Gonna try this n fabric. You are an inspiration! Thanks😊🌹🙏🏻
WoW! BEAUTIFUL JUST BEAUTIFUL!
THANKS FOR SHARING! ! !
She’s like the grandma I never had :,3
Great demonstration, its detailed, easy to follow and informative.
Have you ever used mod podge with picture transfers?Have you ever used mod podge on plastic, metal, steel, wood or fabric, something other than glass? I'm curious.
I haven't committed myself to mod podge. I was inspired last year by another diy video. I bought several bottles, there was quite a variety, i didn't know which type to get.
My first attempt failed, i was going off memory. I've tried the photo-transfer mod podge , but it left a cloudy appearance. Then i tried the chalkboard one and it was another a miss. I mistakenly got it in white and not the standard black.
Its been a fun and entertaining experience but honestly, It would be fantastic to get past these minor set backs and actually make something of quality.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you so much just wanted ❤ 💓 💗 💛 💖 ♥ ❤ 💓 💗 💛 💖 ♥ ❤ !
Hi just an idea to give you, when the glue is FULLY dry instead of cutting it with scissors run a fine either emery board of fine sand paper over the edge towards outside of the plate llooks smooth and precise hopes it works for you, works for me
Can this be done on plain white Corelle plates? I can never find ones I like...
On the inside of the plate, of course LOL
Emery or sand paper.... good idea. Let me know if you try it and how it works. :)
McGregorGirl I wouldn’t recommend it. Mod Podge isn’t food safe. Even the dishwasher safe kind shouldn’t be used to eat off of. But, it can be used to make some gorgeous wine glasses and mugs! Just be sure to keep your designs on the outside of the glass!
Beautiful and talented. So proud for you!
Love it and will try it.
Thanks for sharing this video enjoyed!
very beautiful

great idea to make fabric plates for my China cabinet, Save money & be cost effective go purchase single mixed matching fabric that can be bought at Ramage/garage sales, your local second-hand thrift-stores like Savers and GoodWill's, Indoor flea-markets. Buy single off-set pillowcases & bed/sheets (linens). Even the 2-6 piece clear glass plate sets or buy single clear glass plates from Wal-Mart.
Doesn't necessarily need to buy brand new items all the time in this way I you mess up you want feel so bad because your purchases were inexpensive😉
Brilliant...
Absolutely beautiful!
Cute idea for easter gifts thanks
Great video! Liked your easy to follow instructions. I liked how you showed us the different ways you can use the decorated plates. Thanks!
Hi ....I love the rose plate, thanks for sharing ❤️
I tried this today!! Found Mod Podge for $4.00 @ Michael's, and a sponge brush $1 @ Michael's. The plate and tissue I got from The Dollar Tree. I also bought a bowl too.
The plate turned out just perfect! My tissue paper had dogs and cats on it. I also used a glossy finishing spray on the back of the plate to kind of lock in the paper and give it a gloss look like the glass. The bowl, however, was more challenging. I had a whole lot of wrinkles and it was harder to smoothe it over. I probably won't try another bowl unless anyone has suggestions how to have worked it out better as far as getting the tissue to be smoother OR some other way to make it pretty. It looks ok though, I used the finishing spray on it to try and get it to set everything down in place. I used 2 tissue papers on it so that might have been too much.
Anyway the plate is beautiful for a easy 5min project! :) thank you so much for posting this!
Is it waterproof?
Thanks for sharing best nice video keep it up.
See you
luved it....gbu
Very nice.
Very nice I heard another crafter say if you use plastic wrap to smooth the paper it will cut down on the wrinkles.
