I received a Twitter notification that Tim posted about this collab and literally switched to UA-cam the fastest I ever have to watch it!!! Wouldn't care if the house was on fire, I HAD to listen/see!!!!!!!!
I never noticed in all my time watching this until I watched a reactor reacting to this just now - but Tim’s note at the end makes the camera shake! Peter - if you read this comment, I love this version of this song so much, it needs so much more recognition than it has. 💜💛💜💛
Tim looks like he's a Viking out for revenge with his look in the beginning of the video. People would be running for the hills because they can hear his bass thumping (ok...his voice) from hundreds of miles away.
When the bass is so good that even your bass boosted headphones can't handle it. Is it just a special effect or is Tim's voice shaking the camera on that last note?
Agreed it seems like that. My voice is pretty low, and when I hit lower (nothing near this) notes, my world literally shimmers...the vibrations carry through my bones and make the world shake, so if you’re listening in headphones, I would imagine it would create some of that same effect. Mostly on his penultimately lowest note, not the last one. It doesn’t vibrate the same way without the resonance. But still..jaw=floor
Poojitha I S S You should look up Home Free and hear more of his low notes. Piercing. "Your Man" and "Ring of Fire" are good ones to hear his upper and lower range

I love that resonance at the end that makes the camera shake.
This is amazing 2 of my favorite singers doing an awesome song together :D
+Tish Sheather Thank you so much Tish! :D
+Peter Hollens could you cover something with Avi Kaplan or Geoff Castellucci?
+Dillon Hartwig he did "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair" with Avi! It's so good!
+Julianne Doney yeah ive seen that one im a huge pentatonix fan as well xD but honestly all of Peter's videos are great
+Peter Hollens Your range is amazing!
How do you manage to sing among both basses and sopranos so well!?
That guy was the PERFECT choice for this song, voice AND looks-wise.
I would recommend listening to this on a higher volume, Tim sounds brilliant
the intro just EPIC. its like you were there in the "Misty Mountains" a very cold and dark place on earth.
absolutely beautifully haunting
+avengefullgirl95 Thank you so much!
+Peter Hollens so creepy but calming
+Peter Hollens This popped up and I clicked it and liked it before I even listed to it. You and Tim are such amazing artists - keep up the good work. By the way, how did it feel being in the studio when Tim recorded that final note (which if I'm correct is like a low G#)?
I had to watch this over and over again! Tim and Peter harmonize so perfectly it was stunning to hear. I found a song I would love you to do A Capella In Christ Alone I heard it in church yesterday and I instantly thought of you singing this beautiful song.
Tolkien himself would have loved this.
Yes he would
My name is misty ann and this is pure beauty
@@misty6362 yes it is
The arrangement is nice. But the story/ song has so many verses... This is not a coherent telling of the source material. Beautifully sung but not quite to the level of justice imo
@@bryanpaakkonen8906 Okay right, but this also is not live and if they did the song in its entirety, nobody would hear anything past the halfway point because no speaker in the world can stand up to Tim for very long when he's on a roll. They were kind to us in trying NOT to break our stuff. :)
They're voices are so clear and pure, it gives me chills!!! Wow!😍😳
Peter looks so relaxed while Tim looks so serious....
Well, Tim's still looking for the Arkenstone, so
Idc if this was from 2 years ago. This is my first time hearing it and I have noise cancelling headphones aND I WAS NOT PREPARED I GOT IMMEDIATE CHILLS AS SOON AS I HEARD THAT FIRST NOTE AND NOW IDK WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF
My inner LOTR/Hobbit fangirl side is just so happy I just can't rn
same
Kit Kat I dont even need noise cancellation the song does it by itself
Mood
SAME
:) Glad you enjoyed it. I don't have headphones that work at the moment so I am just using my flatscreen tv with its pathetic little speakers in order to hear this (yes, I do realize I am missing out). Because of the other noises in my house, I had the tv turned up to 60% for another video, started watching this and almost had a heart attack trying to turn down the volume before the speakers got blown. Thankfully nothing bad happened... :)
Tim would start a literal avalanche if he sang like that in the mountains. ;-)
Yes. And thankfully he sings far better than Soromon.
*wink wink*
It was freezing during the filming of Home Free “Do You Hear What I Hear”. Probably so Tim and Adam Rupp would not cause an earthquake.
Between Tim and Peter, this is one of my favorite covers ever. I love the song, and both of your voices are so great. Thank you for making this, I still listen to it 4 years later.
That deep voice....I'm in LOVE
Tim's eyes are staring into my soul.
Tim Foust is the BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I received a Twitter notification that Tim posted about this collab and literally switched to UA-cam the fastest I ever have to watch it!!! Wouldn't care if the house was on fire, I HAD to listen/see!!!!!!!!
Damn! Tim IS the best!
Avi Kaplan
@@duduzinn16 Indeed, Avi Kaplan is quite impressive. But, personally, I'd like to give Tim Foust the crown, but this is just an opinion.
I never noticed in all my time watching this until I watched a reactor reacting to this just now - but Tim’s note at the end makes the camera shake! OMG 😱 now I can’t stop watching the end of the song over and over again. With the screen maximised, which I don’t normally bother with. But now I need to with this amazing song. Peter - if you read this comment, I love this version of this song so much, it needs so much more recognition than it has. 💜💛💜💛
Still waiting for peter hollens/tim foust/avi kaplan/geoff castellucci collab.
+TheRealLancaster That would frickin awesome!
I could die happy if that happened
You're crazy if you think any headphones or stereos in existence can handle that much bass. They'll all blow up in five seconds.
You're crazy if you think any headphones or stereos in existence can handle that much bass. They'll all blow up in five seconds.
there is an avi kaplan and tim foust collab already
Still hoping you'll do a full version of "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables", Peter - the bit in the Les Miserables-medley is simply not enough! :)
+Jonas Bjerregaard I second this!!
Forward motion.
Yes!
+Jonas Bjerregaard YES!!! Probably my favorite song ever.
yes!
Tim looks like he's a Viking out for revenge with his look in the beginning of the video. People would be running for the hills because they can hear his bass thumping (ok...his voice) from hundreds of miles away.
Going for that Thorin Oakenshield look.
This song. That last note. With noise cancelling head phones. Yeah, full body shiver guaranteed.
When the bass is so good that even your bass boosted headphones can't handle it. Is it just a special effect or is Tim's voice shaking the camera on that last note?
It’s shaking the camera, no special effect.
Yes
Nah. This is a music video. The singing was done in a studio with no camera. That is an effect.
I've got a 15" subwoofer hooked to my pc. Tim gives it a workout.
Oh my God the Tim Foust's voice 😍😍❤❤
I'm gonna have a heart attack 🙊💕💞💗
You always blow my expectations out of the water Peter 😍
+Brooke M Richards Thank you Brooke! :D
This song literally has so much bass in it it made my subwoofer vibrate off my desk. Holy crap
Peter, Tim, you guys working together on this song is just plain perfect. This song is going to my 'favorites' list for sure!
I knew Tim had an amazing voice, but that last word and note... UNFUCKINGBELIVEABLE!!!
Peter Hollens + Tim Foust = perfection
i just did a reaction to this and i am floored this was such a relaxing meditative way of singing that it was stunning! insane bro. big ups to yall
I've never heard people hit keys that low. dazzled :D
Poojitha I S S You should look up Home Free and hear more of his low notes. Piercing.
"Your Man" and "Ring of Fire" are good ones to hear his upper and lower range
@@ubermac85 most people can hit a g2
@@ubermac85 I think you mean G1
You should listen to Johnathan Young he does amazing covers
Hap anyone heard the throat singing by "HU". That is interesting but appeals to different souls.
I'll continue sitting here wishing I had a bass' voice like Tim's, even though I'm a girl.
As a guy. Who's 25. I still wish for that bass voice
@Joshua Rousseu I can hit that last note the same way Tim did it (Growl note). I just can't do all the other low notes.
same
I feel
Female bass exists~! You got this
The High Priest of the Church of Bass.
P99AT But wouldn't that make him the Low Priest?
ryaku5 nice one
Northern Melodies Thanks.
Their voices together are so amazing. (Peter literally sounds like an angel and Tim’s voice is extremely powerful)
3 years ago, after I saw the first of the Hobbit movies, I was interested in the Misty Mountains song they sang during the movie. So that night I searched for it on UA-cam and found the video you had made 3 years ago and I instantly was hooked on your vocal talent. Ever since, I have looked forward to and enjoyed every video you have posted since that day and I just want to thank you for the time and effort you put into each of your videos. You and your voice truly are inspiring and I am proud to have been a fan now for 3 years. So thank you and God bless.
I love this vocal pairing! And I did geek out over the costuming. . . can we see you two again with Peter as Samwise Gamgee, and Tim as Aragorn?
Missus Webster I think it was Thorin and Bilbo
god. tim has an insane bass.
This brought tears to my eyes at how beautiful it was. Then Tim hit the last note and it was so jarring and I was so awestruck I startled and gasped.
