The Doobies had several hits before Michael McDonald came in after Tom Johnston’s hiatus. MM added another dimension to their sound, but to say they were nothing without them is an opinion born of ignorance about the band.

I’m 67 and a huge fan of The Doobie Brothers and even though this is my favorite song of theirs if I had number 2 through number 10 favorite of theirs they were all early Doobie Brothers prior to Michael McDonald. Go down that early Doobie Brothers rabbit hole. China Grove, Listen To The Music, Clear As A Driven Snow etc etc etc. It’s all great. The Hell’s Angels of all things loved this band. A California thing I reckon.

In 1984 I met a girl who at the time I didn't realize how impact full the love she gave me was. We were together for 4yrs. At 65yrs old and almost 40yrs later she called me on my birthday. I'm 67yo today and although our relationship is purely platonic it's amazes me that our love for each is still strong. I was am idiot who drank and drugged too much and she was wise to end the relationship. Damn, I even called the woman I had just married like 14yrs after our split by the other girls name. Anyway you didn't need to know all that but it's why I enjoy these reaction videos. Like it does for you 2 older brothers, it invokes long forgotten memories. Priceless memories so thank you.
With that said I don't know if you have ever heard of Savoy Brown, but you might enjoy their bluesy rock style. A popular tune from the time was 'tell mama'. It's off the 'street corner talking' album. Keep up the great work!

Having one of the greatest rock voices of all time isn't enough. You also need to play two keyboards at the same time! 😳
