Hip Hop Heads react to Peter Frampton: Do You Feel Like I Do!!! Simply Amazing!!

- It's no secret that Peter Frampton is an absolute guitar legend, and this song is a true showcase of his talent. The way Peter's voice seamlessly blends with the guitar melody is absolutely stunning, and it's impossible not to get lost in the music. The way he hits those high notes and holds them out just gives me goosebumps every single time. The way he makes the guitar sing and scream at the same time is nothing short of magical.
But it's not just the music that makes this song so amazing. The lyrics are so relatable and emotional, and I find myself getting lost in them every time I listen. It's a song about love, about longing, about wanting to be with someone so badly that you can feel it in your bones. And who hasn't felt that way at some point in their life? - Розваги

If you didn’t have Frampton Comes Alive album in the 70’s you were not cool lol.
That's true, but he also played on what in my not so humble opinion is the greatest live album ever.
Humble Pie
Rockin' The Filmore East
Or Live Bullet Bob Seger Detroit Grit 🇺🇸
Can I get an Amen to that !
Soo true!
I had his poster on my wall in 1975. We would go with a keg of beer in the hills with huge speakers and 8 track tapes and dance until dawn. We had freedom and cops would show up take our booze and tell us to be good and leave. ❤ loved your appreciation for Frampton.
The music of the 70s will never b repeated.....RAW TALENT 🔥
True!!!
most bands worked hard on their craft...now, most are lazy and some just flat out untalented
….without auto-tune
Sho got that right. 👉
That’s a talk box that’s connected to his guitar through a tube which alters the sound of the guitar by the way he moves his mouth. And yes it’s freaking awesome!
Thanks for mentioning that. I feel like it should be obvious what's going on, especially given how the video production overlays his picking hand with his vocalization.
But then I knew what this was back in the day so I'm biased. The important thing is appreciation for the performance.
I talked my mom into letting me go to his concert in ‘77-78. EVERYONE had Frampton Comes Alive. Saw him again 40 yrs later and he was fantastic. Still 😍 but with less hair.
Frampton hardly gets the praise he deserved. He’s one of my top five just based on his live performances. Just Fire.
This song put Frampton in the limelight and was in a way, his downfall cause he could never duplicate it's success. Still you can't deny the man's musical talent. He was a superstar in his day. Everyone I knew had the Frampton Comes Alive album.
And the Midnight Special was the best thing on TV back then. Loved it when Wolfman Jack hosted it.
Eh, perhaps. He did have a real downfall. The Sgt. Peppers movie was terrible for him. The album after this sucked (with the single "I'm in you")
But he was redeemed. And you know who did it? Because he went to school with his older brother?
David Motherfucking Bowie. Glass Spider tour.
@@Mjollnir1234 they were school mates and pals after school
No Down Fall.... Amazing guitarist. He was amazing when I saw him in the 70's. And even better in 2010. He is amazing and so is his son.
The version of this song on "Frampton Comes Alive" is even better. EVERYBODY bought this album when it dropped.
Nobody from that era used the term, “dropped.” 😂

You are right...."released."

A TalkBox isn't any kind of synthesizer. It's entirely analogue. Instead of his guitar playing out of an amp, the TalkBox is like a mini-amp that sends the sound wave down that tube you saw him put in his mouth. The guitar sounds come out of that, and he shapes them with his mouth, just like he does with the vibrations from his vocal chords. And guitar face is very much like sex face. On any instrument, if you're *really* into it, your face matches how you feel, and you could care less how it looks.
Thanks for the info
@@MrOlliwoodda Thanks for the work you guys put in. I enjoy the similarities and the differences in the views in your group. If anything, I wish you were mic'd a bit better for when the songs are playing. I'd like to be able to hear more of those comments that are currently too low frequency.
@@s.mcpherson6354 I’ll second that! Fellas, please turn up your mics during the song- we want to hear all your comments. ❤
In my humble opinion, Frampton is one of the top ten guitarist of all time by far.... very underrated.
Frampton was as famous as a rock star could be. I miss the 70's.
... I'm still a very tiny bit in love with Peter Framton, from the age of 14 when I first saw/heard him in the mid 70's....
FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE sold 8 million albums in the US in 1976, 20 million worldwide.
This was the first album I ever bought, back in 1976, "Framptom Comes Alive," and couldn't stop listening to it! Almost every song on it was fire!
Still have mine.
Iconic Album cover grew up wearing that thing out .
Color me cool
I bought the album and did the same thing. Then he came to Mobile for a concert. Went and Gary Wright opened for him. Was great. Then Frampton came on, the whole concert sounded exactly like the album down to the the last note. We were kind of let down. It was great but we all thought we could have just stayed home and listened to it. Gary Wright was amazing though. All synths.
I worked for RCA Records factory in 1976, making this album all summer long. I also listened to it non stop
This was the ultimate party, riding around and parking album! Takes me back to the 15 and 16 year old me! Says this 62 year old woman!
yep
Me too. My first concert.
He was a teenage heartthrob in the band Herd then joined Steve Marriott to form Humble Pie. After five albums he left the Pie to go solo. A very storied career.
Steve Marriott is a criminally underrated rock and roller.
They should sample some humble pie
I don't need no Doctor!
Peter Frampton has despite all his Pie of success remained a Humble guy
Frampton Comes Alive! Was the BEST live album of all time. I was 16 and the album cover was on my wall. 45 years later I saw him sing this song from the front row! He still can play!
What an experience- I got to see Donovan in ‘68 and again in 2008- and got him to sign my ‘68 Hurdy Gurdy album from him. Full circle!
This played constantly on the radio stations, it was a huge hit!
It was a huge album! Every song on PF comes alive was great.
@@davidhoy8557 is it still the number one selling
"live" albums of all time?
@@triacatz7139 I believe it’s been surpassed. But it’s definitely my favorite of all time.
His father was a music teacher one of his students was David Bowie. Back in the Guitar years 60’s and 70’s Frampton was one of the very best. He did had success with a band called Humble Pie early on.
This album and tour was massive in 1976 or 77,i cant recall what year it came out cause it was on the charts for so damn long, thats how HUGE this album was! It was everywhere on the radio stations and EVERYONE who knew good music had a copy of Frampton Comes Alive! What a performance!
It was 77 I saw them perform in Oakland California July 4th weekend 1977 in the Colosseum
The album was released in 1976. He toured the album in 1977.
For rock. For R&B. For pop. The 70s were it. Nice reaction.
I agree 100% 👍 💯
I got to see Frampton play this album on the Forth of July 1976, in Nashville. One of my all time favorite concerts! He is considered one of the guitar heroes!
I had a lifesize poster of Peter Frampton in my room in 1973! My first love looked just like him (with black hair and blue eyes) and played guitar. Peter Frampton's guitar was great! Oh, the memories! Thank you for this!
Lots of us had a crush on Peter Frampton, even if we didn't know it...
Don’t ever apologize for not knowing something- we all have different life experiences and influences. Celebrate that we all have sooooo much to discover!
That was a Talk-Box that he used on this song. Joe Walsh also does it on Rocky Mountain Way, which is another song you should do. Thanks guys
I saw Peter Frampton in concert twice - once about 1978 when my husband and I were dating, and again just a few years ago. He is still just as good in concert as he was back then! And he has his son singing with him!
I was fortunate to witness Frampton, Jeff Beck and Gary Wright in the Seattle King Dome in 1977
Saw him in the 70’s …till this day one of the best shows I’ve ever seen
First concert I went to was,Peter Frampton,Rod Stewart, and Loggins and Messina when I was 10 years old I went with my older sister and her husband..........I was blown away 🤯✌️
Jesus!!!!!!
This was so fun! Glad you're discovering Peter Frampton. "Frampton Comes Alive" is one of the best live albums ever. Treat yourself and check it out. It's pure pleasure.
Will do
I agree 100% about this album.
I was 12 in 1975"" I miss these days so badly
He and David Bowie attended the same school..Frampton's father was Bowie's Art teacher..Bowie was 3 yrs. older, but Frampton was in a band at 12 (The Little Ravens), and Bowie was in his band (George and the Dragons) and they would spend lunch breaks together playing Buddy Holly songs..Bowie's real name was David Jones, but there was already an English bloke with the same name in a little band called The Monkees, so he changed it to Bowie.
And he was beautiful to boot!!!
He still is;)
I knew you guys would like the talk-box section of this song...I was sitting here saying, "you watch, you watch...here it comes" 😅wasn't wrong... nice knowing music from my generation is going to maybe last a few more generations... loves the response
That part was sick
We were so freaking lucky to grow up in the ‘70s-80s. The music was incredible and concert tix were CHEAP. I tried to list all the concerts I went to and it was damn near 100 (not including the great bar bands in Philly). I love to see younger people appreciate it. 💕
Peter Frampton was not only a legendary guitarist but a huge hitmaker for a few years. His double album "Frampton Comes Alive" was on the charts for a long time. He sounds even better live than on his studio albums. Try "Show Me The Way" for another hit he had.
He was in the greatest rock band ever Humble Pie
He was in Humble Pie before he went solo. Humble Pie also blew the doors off when they came to town. We made them do three encores which they remembered when they came back through. Check out "I Don't Need No Doctor" and "30 Days In The Hole".
Yes, we're here to go on your journey with you, hearing music you've never heard of before. That's the whole point! It's very fun for us who've known this music since it came out. Keep it going!
Frampton hails from Humble Pie.
We girls were nuts for this guy!! 😍
FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE!! ❤🔥Double LP!!
Uses a talk box, vibrations from tube to guitar, we loved it, looks like you do too!! 😊
Frampton is one of the world's best guitar players.
don't think there was anyone out selling Peter at this time. definitely peak popularity right here.
also when he was in Humble Pie with the late great Steve Marriott beautiful music what a great time it was...
Frampton...incredible musician...saw him a couple years ago and still musical perfection!!! Love him
As I'm sure it's been said many times here, as a teen, or anyone who enjoyed great music, this album was a must have in your record collection in 1976.
I had mine. Also it's cool watching my generations MTV, the Midnight Special where you could see all the bands you couldn't get tickets to see.
Best live recorded album ever
Lines on my Face from Frampton comes Alive is smooth as glass one of my top 10 ever
I fell in love with him when I was 15. Have seen him five times between 1977 and 2019. He would typically rock that hard for the whole three hour show. Amazing guitarist.
Finally he is getting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It took them long enough!❤😂🎉
Frampton always gets looked over as one of the best guitarists. He was an innovator and one bad man on the guitar. He deserves his roses
I was 16 yrs old when this song came out ,I had the pleasure of enjoying all the great bands of the 70s in the coolest time to be a teenager
There could never be another MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, there's nothing out there nowadays worthy to put on.
As a teenager in the 70’s being invited to a weekend party at someone’s house was the ultimate. I had just started in band as a drummer and it got around that I was cool so I was invited to one. I was 12! My younger sister listened to Shaun Cassidy, teen girls listened to Fleetwood Mac and Frampton. I remember a 14 year old Marsha Brady look alike girl named Claire who gave me my first great kiss when this song was on the turntable. Burned into my mind and makes me smile 47 years later. I still love Claire.
I can tell you that Frampton was on the breeze in 1976 and you were on point with this reaction, my friends. I saw Frampton in concert in 2016 and he was Killin it on an acoustic gig. Lines on my Face, Show Me the Way, and the aforementioned Baby I Love Your Way should be on your radar. Enjoy your musical journeythrough.
Lines on my face is still my favorite summer jam!
It's March 2024 now and Frampton is on tour.....seeing him LIVE is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. March 16, 2024 Windsor Ontario Canada....& Then throughout USA. Incredible guitarist. ❗
Peter Frampton was it in the 70’s!! Peter Frampton Live!!!
He got in car accident, broke arm, hands, fingers. He recouped and returned!!🎸🎸🎸❤❤❤🎤🎤🎸🎸
I met him and he is so humble and nice. Every time I see him in concert he is always amazing.
Saw him in concert in 1976 at MSG in NYC. It was so much fun!! The crowd was super involved and interactive with him. It was nuts... like one huge party. The energy was beyond incredible! One of the best shows I was lucky to have seen! Frampton is now in his 70s and has had some health problems. What a beautiful and talented man, no matter what! ❤🎸🎵
Every kid at school talkin bout the guy that made his guitar talk! Instantly famous!!!!
He's playing the guitar through what's called a "talk box". That's actually the original talk box. He got it from the inventor. When he stepped over to the second microphone you can see him move the white box with his foot. The box has a driver (speaker) in it. He steps on the switch on top of the box which diverts the guitar signal from the amplifier to the driver in the box, which travels up the rubber hose in his mouth. then the guitar reflects from his mouth into the microphone.
The guitar he was playing is a very early Gibson Les Paul Custom professional built in 1957. Back in the day, I think in the late 1970's he was scheduled to tour South America. They shipped all of their equipment by airplane which crashed, I want to say in Aruba maybe. He of course thought the Les Paul was lost forever. Fast forward to just a handful of years ago. Someone in the know went to hear a live local band on that island and realized that the guitar player was playing that guitar. Long story short. Peter owns that guitar again. It's in bad shape but, he still plays it on stage.
He originally came to fame in the band Humble Pie when he was a teenager. They had many hits but, one of the most famous was a song written buy Ashford and Simpson who wrote for Motown. They wrote the song for Ray Charles but Humble Pie made the song iconic. Check out "I don't need no doctor"
Best Song of the 70's. Brings back so many HS memories!!
Yes!! It is this long! ❤
Btw, I wouldn't be here if you already knew this music. I love to see people discover new music.
This guy was the biggest thing when he came out massively huge! He is incredibly talented. Thanks for playing one of his best
What can you say, this is sick.
He basically put the talk box on the radar…..😊 you should listen to the Frampton Live concert performance.
This song stays in your head all day
Peter Frampton comes alive is awesome album
I worked 1 of his shows 15 years ago and got to meet and talk to him about playing and when we were done talking he gave me a handfull of his guitar pics to take home and play with. I never used such a small pic before, I will never forget that and still use those pics
Cruising the strip listening to Frampton in my 71SS
In the 70's if a group of people were around, this song would be playing for sure
The most underrated guitarist of the rock era
Frampton was credited with bringing cool music to nerds... a gateway drug to funk
More talent in his little finger than 1/2 the artist today combined.
Good news you can get tickets to see Frampton live ......he is on tour now...... in Windsor Ontario this weekend March 16th 2024 and then throughout the USA. One of the best guitarists..... if not THE very best who has ever lived ... I saw him way back in 2011 in Denver. It was the highlight of my five years living in the USA. Don't miss this opportunity it may be your last.... this guy is in his seventies already and although he still going like the wind......now is the time to get tickets.... don't miss this guys he's really incredible
No denying Frampton is a huge talent! I love these types of videos! The format I've seen mostly falls into 2 groups. People who usually listen to hip hop / rap / R&B or people who listen to classical music. I think it would be cool if someone could turn it around and expose people who listen to Rock, classical, ect. to examples of great hip hop / rap / R&B.
And I listened to ALL 14 minutes of it!!!
The guitar he's playing is a custom made one of a kind,it's also on the cover of Frampton Comes Alive.
He was playing in South America when the plane carrying his equipment, including that guitar, crashed.Several people died and he thought he'd lost that guitar but someone actually stole it from the wreckage. Fast forward 30 yrs. later, someone brought THAT same guitar into a repair shop and the owner,a Peter Frampton fan, knew exactly who it really belonged to. He took possession of it and contacted Peter and told him what he had. Here's the story if you want to hear it.

Yay, glad to hear it!
He got so famous he had his own pinball machine back in the late 70s
Wow
The song was really that long, Peter Frampton was huge back in the day, and this song was an anthem for my generation.
The "Frampton Comes Alive" version of this is a must-see.
this is the era of true talent,no auto tune or computer corrected songs it was one heck of a party every where you went in the seventy's, cause in the 1970's great music was all over the world!!!!!
Best concert I have seen. 1976 touring on this album. $6 admission. He was great and all the women were mesmerized by him. Guys too, probably. Gary Wright of Dreamweaver fame opened for him and he was great too! Frampton is still performing but has a condition that makes him have to use a chair. Bless him❤
Frampton is absolutely underrated!
It's too bad this video gets recommend more than much better versions out there.
He's extremely talented so glad you played it. Thanks
Frampton Comes Alive sold 8 million copies the year it was released in 1975. Since then, over 20 million have been sold globally. Everyone who owned a record player back in those days, owned that live album and it still holds up to this day. That audience at the Midnight Special had no idea that Frampton was going to literally play an extended live version of his hit to close out the show. Perhaps the most legendary performance on a tv show that was defined by legendary performances.
Peter Frampton always put on a good show and underrated as a guitar player
Love Frampton
The Midnight Special was the introduction to many of these artists back in the day! Not Zeppelin. Not Purple. Not Nuggent. But fantastic in his own right and this song was his best. Too pretty to be that good? No. And no autotune, etc., just pure talent.
"Let the song breathe" - damn right man. Great reaction.
I love Peter Frampton & still listen to his music. His "Frampton Comes Alive" album came out in 1976 & I graduated from high school in 1977. My favorite song of his is probably "Lines on My Face." I'm pretty sure that that album is still among of the best selling live albums ever made. Every song on it was great.
I LOVE Peter Framptom! Takes me back to my freshman year of college when EVERYBODY had this album. I saw Framptom live in 1976 at the Oakland Coliseum and he was amazing! Surprisingly funky!
You guys are the best. You let the song play without jumping in front of it because you need to be seen and heard.
I learn from you guys. Thanks.
I LOVED Peter Frampton concerts!
A good portion of the Frampton Comes Alive double is recorded live at Winterland, simply epic.
This song came out the year I graduated and we all had the same reaction! Fire!!!
I saw him live just a few years ago and he was still Fire! Listen to "Lines on my face".
We learn new things every day,so glad you can hear this now.
Hey fellas we had some damn good music in the 60s and 70s rock, folk, Motown!
That voice-box!!! Some others were using it, but Frampton put it over the top.
The entire Frampton Comes Alive album is amazing.
