I think your first row should have the working yarn coming off the top needle...not the bottom needle. Ive watched about 50 videos on mloop and they all say the top needle for the working yarn. I think u r confusing beginners

If you do it this way, you end up with the tube inside out.

Actually you can see in the video the tube is right side out.
