This is the best video on casting on, getting started and knitting using magic loop. Like the previous person's comment, I can't tell you how many other magic loop videos I have watched but never got to have success with using this method. Today I ACHIEVED SUCCESS and am thrilled. Something that made the difference for me was the 'rules' you gave for different things, e.g. 1. always have your working yarn over the back/never hanging in the middle, 2. you explained which point of the needle to pull out to start knitting the next part of the row - importantly, you kept saying things like, "I can't emphasise enough that you need to do X". The way you clearly demonstrated, and clearly explained and then reiterated important points totally gelled with me. I am thrilled that I can now knit in magic loop. This video is the best magic loop one ever. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills.

Thanks so much! I was almost in tears with the other videos. We are in lock down in South Africa and this has turned a miserable day into a great one! I hope the other teachers watch this too. I kept on undoing my "mess" until you helped. You are the magic in the magic loop!

Omg 😲 FINALLY! I’ve found a video that shows from beginning how to do this! Almost EVERY video shows WIP without showing how it all begins.
    Made me lost interest completely.
I’ve not knitted in decades and decided to start again. I can knit in the round but wanted to complete hats w/o dpns
Thank You so much and Thank You for keeping it “real”. The long cable would REALLY piss me off and I’d just put it away or pull it back.
    I’ll use this video in slo-mo so I don’t miss a thing❣️
    Again, I Thank You Kindly♥️🌹❣️

TOTALLY AMAZING and HELPFUL tutorial!!!! THANK you for showing the "ugly side" of the process!!! I've watched a LOT of tutorials to learn how to use these needles and just to KNIT in general but THIS is the most helpful and EASIEST to follow and most pleasant also. Some of the people that do tutorials do NOT have any personality and some have way too much, YOU were easy to listen to and follow. THANK YOU!!!

"Always the needle with the working yarn" BEST advice I've seen on doing magic loop. "front, back, left, right, up down" can all change if you are holding the needles incorrectly but the yarn on the working needle is a constant "landmark" you can count on 👍😍

Honestly, I have tried Magic Loop before, but gave up when my knitting looked exactly like yours does at the start!! Now I know it's SUPPOSED to look that way! Thank you SO much for taking this technique right from the start, when it looks messy and disorganized. I really needed this!

Hello lovely. I can honestly tell you that I have done heaps of research on magic loop, and watched tutorials only to struggle to understand. I’m in my fifties and a reasonably experienced knitter. I found your tutorial to be excellent in every way. You reassured us that there will be struggles and you encouraged us to keep going, and guess what? You just taught me and so many others a new technique I waited all my life to learn.
Scroll past any negativity on here and rest assured I myself and many others will be following you and supporting you because you’re very good at what you do. A huge hug and thank you from me, from down under, Australia 🇦🇺.
    Well done 👏👏👏👏👏👏

This is by far the best tutorial for magic loop. Dear me yes I love that you emphasised about keeping the working in the back, when I first started a couple of months ago I kept putting the working yarn in the front and it drove me mad trying to work out what I was doing wrong as the pattern just didnt work out right.

    Praise to ⭐️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️nervous knitter:
Sorry but I just had to read off Kelly Tyler, but I was about to praise you for exactly what she had criticized you for!
I love the fact you are multitalented and have lovely working hands to prove it. After about a full minute of watching you knit, I realized that I was able to watch you better, more clearly than other demonstrators on YT. Your fingernails are naturally normal. I really appreciate that: thank you!
⭐️⭐️I was not at all distracted by flashy glued on shards of plastic in my face! Omg, what a difference! Between the lack of phony flash and your patient repeat of important steps of each round, I do believe I am capable of using this technique! OMG! I can do this, this greatly helps!❤
I have been mystified by Magic loop my whole time of learning to knit. At least 5-6 years and after see this video and by follow it step by step, I know it’s possible for me too.
Thank you for sharing your talent! I look forward to investigating more of your channel and hope you have or plan to add more technical advice for those of us still learning. I haven’t tried Fair Isle or brioche or much lace yet. I hope you cover them like you did this ML tutorial.
I am just thrilled, I can’t thank you enough for this lesson!💐🌺🌝🧶🥢🍾🥂😆♥️⭐️🎉👱🏼‍♀️🎊🎁

This video is definitely a LIFESAVER!!! I've been searching for several tutorials on how to start knitting in the round. I've seen several in my own language which is Dutch. But not one of them make any sense to me. Then I started looking for english tutorials and at last I found yours. This is the "most" ;-) well explained video on how to cast on stitches and start knitting. The tips about the working yarn and always pull the needle with the working yarn are the best tips ever!!! I've been knitting since I was a little child and now I'm 53 and I finally decided to learn magic loop knitting. Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I gave it a thumbs up, and I saved it in my favorite list.

Finally I think I understand the magic loop. I have watched numerous videos and never could keep track of which needle to pull. Simply empathizing pulling the needle with the working yarn was a lightbulb moment.
Awesome, easy to understand, clear movements with your hands, video centered, you nailed it.
I have gotten dizzy watching people reset continuously their yarn and move the needles out of viewing range, and talk so much that I couldn’t keep track of what to knit next.
    Thank you

I just finished a project that used double pointed needles for some fingerless gloves for my granddaughter and I vowed I would never do another one. So annoying and frustrating.
What a joy to see this tutorial on the magic loop, which was recommended by a friend when I told her about my struggle.
I own an entire set of magic loop needles for which the metal tips in different sizes simply screw onto the cords. I have used them for large baby blankets in the past but never tried knitting in the round. Thought it was impossible. I have had them over 30 years now. Thank you Charlotte~!! Don't even apologize for being "slow" .....to me,as a beginner,,you knit FAST~!! Besides,,it's easier to learn watching someone do it slowly.
Being totally clueless about cables,,magic loop,,and knitting in general,,my first attempt at knitting on circulars I bought needles with a cable way too long for a hat,,lol,,I didn't know ! So I decided to wing it and made up my own version of what I NOW know is magic loop :))) but it was more difficult and stretched out my stitches. This is SO much easier,,thank you,,your videos have basically taught me how to knit~!! It's been about 5 months and I have 4 different projects going,,knitted hats, blankets, scarves and yoga socks for my whole family for Christmas•!! I'm addicted😂🥢🤣🥢

Thanks for the tutorial, especially with the twisty cable circular needles, because that's exactly how mine looked while I was doing the steps so I knew what to expect.

I have watched so many videos on this and nobody explains it so clearly from the beginning. This is a must watch for new knitters in the round 👍👍👍👍

Thank you so much for this! I was struggling with getting started with magic loop and I was not sure I was doing it right! Thank you for validating the struggles too! I was having trouble getting the stitches back on the needle and thought I was doing it wrong.

I have watched at least 10 videos explaining the magic loop. Yours was the most comprehensive. You anticipated and answered all my questions and concerns. Thank you so much!

Thanki you for finally explaining the magic loop in a way I could understand. I'm trying to teach myself the magic loop after knitting on double points for YEARS!! I've watched several other videos on UA-cam and just ended up quitting before the first round was finished because I could not keep up with where the needles were suppose to be. But then I stumbled upon your video and it dawned on me, don't worry about the needles, pay attention to the WORKING yarn. GENIUS! You dummy proofed it for me and now I catch myself yelling out, ''drop it".....

Best help ever. Understands frustrations of starting in the round knitting. Encouraged me to pick up my needles and yarn when I’d thrown them across the room having failed a number of times in succession. Not all the irritating preamble either, this young lady understands that we neither want nor need half an hour’s video for five minutes of actual instruction! Thank you.

Thank you so much for creating this video!! I've been trying to teach myself for the past two days and spend a lot of times starting only to rip everything out. Your method was the light bulb that went on over my head and after just 4 rows, I am actually having fun with this method of knitting socks. You were right about the ladders; the more rounds you knit, the less "ladder rungs" you see. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Thank you so so much for this. I'm picking up knitting again after years away and this saved me from huge frustration. I'll come back to this every time I need to refresh magic loop.

This video was so helpful. You showed ALL the picky bits that always goof me up in the beginning. I don't know how many stops and starts I have done. Now I know exactly where to place my yarn. Thank you.

You are absolutely right - most videos already show work in progress, so they don't show you how to do the first join. Thank you VERY much for a clear, concise demonstration - I am LOVING this method!!!

This is the first video that shows all the steps for knitting magic loop. The others make assumptions that you can follow their instructions without demonstrating all the details. What a great teacher. I’m looking forward to learning more skills from these videos.
