    WHY are there so many dislikes?! This is a phenomenal tutorial that really gets that repetition into the brain. I've seen a handful of others that will cover starting, or turning, or changing the primary color, but very few actually covers starting and getting somewhere! Thank you JoannesWeb!

    • @StormCaller5

      Lol they're frustrated, because of the way they knit. I hold the yarn in my left hand and pick from there. I'm having to do a pick and toss combo and it's so hard! But I'm going to keep trying.

    • @StormCaller5
      @StormCaller5 Рік тому +4

      Update: I found another way that is working. Still holding in left hand, but picking up stitches from the front, instead of back. Stitches aren't twisting and it's going a lot quicker. I have about 7 inches of my hubby's scarf done now. Tan on one side, camo on the other. Looks awesome! Thanks for the tutorial!

      @@taggih.5632 The dislike count used to show for everyone, but it doesn't anymore. I think because people were disliking a video for stupid reasons. Like just to dislike it for the fun of it or just to be mean. UA-cam removed the ability for other users to see that count.

      @@taggih.5632 Unfortunately, UA-cam did away with the dislike system for the viewers. Dislikes are no longer visible on any video.
      (A shame imo because normally it was a useful metric for determining the quality/validity of a tutorial, or how-to vid. If someone recommended doing something unsafe, or the tutorial was badly made, dislikes reflected that. I wish UA-cam would instate another option or bring dislikes back.)

    I made an entire blanket a few years ago by double knitting, and I wanted to come back and say this video taught me how to do it. It's my favorite way to knit now!
    One tip I learned, though: the two sides don't need to be opposite colors. Both sides can have the exact same pattern, or if you're really ambitious they can have different patterns altogether! You just need to keep a good track of your stitches.

    Found out that knitting it "inside out" is far easier. No weaving of yarns and no threat of it twisting accidentally. Simply pull one (eg dark) yarn to the front after knitting the first stitch and knit and purl as is until last stitch. (The purl yarn will be closest to you) Pass the yarn back to the back and knit the last two colours together, then turn and repeat. Still a bit fiddly but far less so and much faster than the video. Then simply cast off the two colours separately and turn inside out for a neat little pocket eg for phone.
    Thank you so much for this video, I definitely intend to do some more projects using it! :)

    When I was a college freshman 50 years ago (yikes!), my roommate showed me how to do this. I have been wondering all that time how it was done but could not find it. Thanks for solving this for me!

    Wow - i have never seen anyone knit this way!! I LEARNT TO KNIT THIS WAY IN 1978 while visiting my sister. I have already made 4 afghans. Use patterns on graph paper for beautiful designs on both sides of afghan. Everone likes these afghans & they are warmer to use in colder weather.
