I worked at a funeral home one summer in College and we used SOS pads to quickly clean the whitewalls on the Hearse. You are better people than I with to run bias ply tires, they just wander too much for me.
I've took the hub & drum in to a machine shop and had them redrilled from truck to Ford car if there is enough room for it. Worked really well. Just pull the drum off stick the rim up see if it fits ( room wise). Looks great.
I don't know if you already know this, or if it really works, but the owner of a 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook with really pretty white walls said he kept them clean and white by using white toothpaste (any brand) and to never use anything with bleach as it will turn them yellow. Loved the video as always!
Had some lace doileys, so I taped them to the rear end in my 65 Cyclone and voila a lace paintjob on the hogshead. Some asked why no 302 in it...they got quiet when the little 289 HO whupped their 302.
2.79 is a real common ratio for 8 inch in the Maverick. and they are (if I remember correctly) 3/4 of an inch narrower than the 57-58 9 inch that everyone wants. It would be nice if you could convert the front hubs to 5 bolt. only have to carry one spare.😊😅
So, what happened to the drain plug you were going to install? I didn't see any new axle seals being installed either. Enjoy your videos, but inquiring minds want to know.
So the drain plug I completely forgot about! Haha. We couldn’t get new wheel seals, and the old ones were in good shape so we just left them. So far they’re holding up.
..that Comet gets more badass with every improvement you make to it...I saw further down in the comments that you know about Brent....things can always be worse, eh?.....
Be interested to see the cold start problem get diagnosed. Not so much the cold bloodedness, that’s just a choke adjustment. But the ignition problem that’s making it crank so long before firing off. Maybe the ballast resistor isn’t getting bypassed? Maybe just swap in an HEI distributor.
Great rear swap. I do like that peppermint green. There used to be an English Ford Mark 1 Zephyr painted that colour near where I live here in NZ and it really looked the part.
Love the channel, you both are awesome!🤗 In the mid sixties my dad had one of these Comets, black with a black and white interior. Love the color this car will be!!👊😄👌
No idea haha, but it’s lumpy. This was a $300 used engine Shannon bought off marketplace. We assumed it was stock when she bought it, but it’s clearly not
Nice conversion! Should look even better, if you can get the same size wheels and tyres on the front. Shannon; you got that driver's seat pushed back as far as it'll go, yet?😁
Great upgrade! I dig the rake and it sounds great on those drive by’s It will be quite the family hot rod. Crazy what happened out at Brent’s. I wonder what caused that? I hope it gets cleaned up and sorted out quickly for him. All the best to you , Shannon and the new sprout.
@@LGKustoms there’s lasting effects like looking for that certain screw driver and then realizing awe shit that got melted in the fire🤦♂️ I feel for him.
Was that 5 slug Maverick rear hard to find? I bought one for a shoebox project yrs ago and back then it was a kind of pain in the ass to find. Well, i think that Comet looks a lot better with those new wheels. It will look perfect with the front ones.
I really wish you would stop playing that crappy Bar band rockabilly music all the time it's distracts from your video. I can only watch and hear that crap for so long.

I ordered air shocks from Summit with extenders for my 62 Comet. It completely changed the stance on the car.
I like bagel boy of company C , 40's, 50's, 60's, rockabilly and I am 73. These young kids are have way more fun than we did.
The maverick rear ends are my first choice for my hotrods. It was a perfect fit on my 1933 Pontiac coupe.
Nice job Shannon 😂 every man needs a great helper 🥰

I don’t even notice a difference between bias ply and radials to be honest. And bias ply just has the right look.

Are you talking for the front wheels?
Sets perfect 👍
Kool little Hot Rod. Nice upgrade. Sounds great. When you get the 14"s on the front and the chrome hubs that will definitely set it off.
Just got the 14” front rims yesterday!
Cool looking Comet… sounds great!
Injoying what you do and hopefully make a fair living👍😊
I owned. A 75. Comet. I had. A friend. Had. A 61. Very. Cool. Car. Thanks
Thanks for sharing always interesting!

I’ve always had good luck with spray 9 and a scrub brush. Rinse and repeat
Cool I have a 7 inch in my 62 Comet 😮😮😮😮. And I put in a 302
That’s how this for a while, and it was fine as long as Shannon drove
@@LGKustoms I will be easy lol

The Comet looks better and better each time y’all work on it! It sounds great too! I really enjoyed the music on this video.

Thanks Marty!
shes got the COOL FACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats one cute comet!
lookin good Shannon
enjoy you both, and you both make a great team! Enjoy the channel so much!
Shannon got a lead foot! :D
Man that thing has a hell of a cam
Pretty rowdy for a $300 engine that was laying under a tarp in a guys backyard

That’s the plan for the front, just patiently waiting for a set of hubs to come up cheap on marketplace

She looking epic!
Good job to both of you for working so hard together to get the comet back on the road!!!
I’m liking the rake. And I think a little super glue on that crown gear would work to make it sellable at a swap meet. 😂
I don’t mind the rake either

She can’t even fit behind the wheel anymore! I have to drive everywhere
What happened to Doris’ paw? Oh, yeah, love the video as always.
She was playing hard behind the shop and skinned her paw pad. She didn’t seem concerned, but Shannon was! Haha

@@LGKustoms So it looks like they are rare in US, that never came to mind to try to look one from the north
Mounting. Plates. Look. Factory
Pretty close!
Your going to have to put 5 bolt wheels on the front too. It looks much better with these wheels on it. Makes it look just right!🙄
Agreed. They smartened it right up!
Come on now. Across the Bay street bridge isn't a couple of blocks...lol.
Is power steering next?
Probably not. That’s expensive, and it’s not hard to steer at all
Good deal....I found u because of Half ass custom...hope he is okay??
I talked to him yesterday, definitely not a party over there right now. But he’s doing okay.
What's the gear ratio?
2:79 I believe the tag said. It’s really nice on the highway now
comet look's like it got some teeth kicked out during a street brawl.
Ha!
“I told y’all so” I took my chance and said it 🤪. We all know if ya need a excuse to do something just break it.
was the blown rear end a ford 7 1/4?
I believe so yes. It was the stock 6 cylinder rear end.
That didn’t take long😂
