    you can hammer any weld if you domt have twigs for arms!!!🤣🤣tack the panel cut with your grinder layed ovet 45 degrees you get a perfect over lapped seam wich allows for tig fusing no filler almost 0 distortion! tacking the panel first gives you real structure less chance for it to go all catty wonkus i could have put 10 of those on by time he got done saying why hes all that 200 amp? holy fk 55 or 60 amp max 1/16" tungsten

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms 4 дні тому

      Multiple reasons why… I don’t remember exactly what I paid for this radiator, this video is a few years old, but $60 is ringing a bell. An eBay radiator might be $300 where you live, but for me with shipping and taxes it’s over $500. So this saves over $400 that I can spend on other parts. It’s copper, not aluminum, so not only does it cool more efficient, but it looks correct in an early hot rod. It was manufactured in my own country, not China. And last, hot rodders have been using Mustang radiators in hot rods for 60 years. It’s tried and trued. It’s traditional. Anyways, those are my reasons. You may or may not agree with them. And that’s totally fine with me.

    A big block Rat motor in a Canadian Dodge is sacrilegious. Dodge makes many big block engines that would have been a better choice. 372? 426? 440? I don’t understand his choice of engine.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms 5 днів тому

      His engine choice was simple, he already owned the big block Chevy and knew this history on it. It was sitting in his garage right next to the Fargo when I went and looked at it. Besides, at the end of the day does it matter? These trucks never came with a big block dodge either, so what difference does it make? Brand loyalty has never been a part of hot rodding.

    Why not spray them while they are hanging from the oven rack? Then you could just slide the oven rack into the oven to bake.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms 5 днів тому

      Powder overspray in a booth can easily be contained and cleaned up. If your booth is clean enough, the powder overspray can even be reused. If you sprayed it on the oven rack, all that powder overspray would get in the oven, melt from the heat, and eventually the inside of your oven would be completely powder coated.

      I get them from Amazon. I don’t really sharpen them, just peel the paper back as I need. They’re never sharp like a pencil, more like a well used crayon. Thankfully upholstery work is pretty forgiving with tolerances.

    That acrylic will crack if it hasn't already. Use Lexan. It's got just a very light haze. That you will probably never notice. But hold up much better for drilling and in the sun. That "Plexi" is gonna fade pretty quick also. But, it does look really good. Great job man.

    Nice work on the hammer welding! In the last decades I think it has become a lost art. Twenty-six years ago when I bought my 1971 de Tomaso Pantera I knew it needed a new front lower valance, lower radiator support and some other small monocoque body parts. Being a very desirable collector car I knew it would become quite valuable in the coming years so I wanted someone that had experience working with monocoque body cars to do the work. I wanted all the work to look like the original factory work. I kept looking until I found someone that had experience with monocoque body cars and he was an absolute hammer welding artist. His hammer welding was so good I don’t recall him grinding any of the welds, just sanding. He also replicated the factory spot welds on the monocoque parts that he fabricated.

    Spent a bunch of time viewing all the 32 videos series and what a trip down memory lane. Your workmanship is awesome. Your 32 work brought back memories of my dad buying me a running and drivable 1930 Model A for about $600 in today’s money value when I was 15. It was not legal for me to drive until I was 16, but there were some unused off-road areas of the Port Angeles Airport where dad taught me to drive it. Your comments about the previous welding work on the 32 frame, brake lines, radiator and transmission mounts are so true. Back in the day we did not imagine that the old $60 cars we had would become very valuable and the cars deserved our workmanship on them to be the very best. Plus, at age 16 there was very little money or tools to do the work. I managed to blow up the Model A engine in less than a year after getting my driver’s license and started work installing a full race flathead V8 and hydraulic brake system. Needless to say my engineering skills and workmanship was not that great at age 17, but it all held together OK.

      That’s a great story. What ever happened to the model A?

    • @supernovaVII
      @supernovaVII 11 днів тому

      @@LGKustoms In less than a year after I got the A running with the V8 I had a chance to buy a pretty nice 40 Ford deluxe without an engine, transmission and wheels. Took those parts from the A and put them in the 40. Sold the A with no engine, transmission and wheels for $50 to a friend and it was in Port Angels for a few years with a couple of different owners. Last I heard sometime in the late 60s it ended up in a junk yard in Sequim.

When rain threatens simply open the hood and stick the magnetic material underneath. When the sun shines simply remove. Great way to protect ignition and carburetors. Happy Motoring!
