    Great job with the tutorial! I've been a tech for 41 years and I'm about to hang up my wrenches and store away my lab scopes in December for good. I'm a newbie upholsterer that started dabbling in upholstery when the covid thing started, not knowing how my repair business was going to fare. I have absolutely no idea how I accomplished finishing a complete upholstery overhaul in my first job pretty much by myself. With zero experience and never sewing a stitch before, I asked my client if I could use his 1962 Galaxie as a guinea pig. He said yes when I told him that if I effed it up I would pay to have it done properly. Well 6 months later it was complete and looks awesome. I did everything from the headliner to the visors, carpet, door panels, package tray and seats. Everything. Next one was a 1974 LeSabre drop top. Again, a complete overhaul less the top. I glassed the cracked up dash and covered it with closed cell foam and then heated and stretched the vinyl to cover it. What a beatch!! But he is extremely happy being that it's a weekend driver and somewhat show car. I'm doing a 36 ft. WellCraft boat as of now and it's going well. Enough self adulation and digressing from my original intent for my comment and question. How much should I charge for a seat covering like you did with your car? Labor only. How about a bucket seat, each with no real custom design? And how about a bench seat with a leaner in the middle? Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

    That was a massive undertaking. Those screws are a royal pain. Looks great now though. I highly recommend a couple of solar panels charging a couple of rv batteries and a 12v compressor fridge (lots on Amazon) and a couple of roof vents with fans. Lee hello. The front carb fuel line might pick up heat from the adjacent heater hose and cause a vapor lock situation there? Until you redo the radiator hose you might consider taking a piece of 5/16" fuel hose slitting it and using it as an insulator from the radiator hose. If needed you can ty-rap it to keep it in position. Always enjoy watching you do your thing! Bob

    I've been enjoying your channel lately, without concerns or reservations. While I do enjoy your content, this latest video makes me worry about your apparent lack of safety consciousness. String throttle linkage? Fuel filter under the dash? Rubber fuel lines under the dash? Solid copper hard lines on your tri-power? Personally, I would rather have missed the car show than have driven the car like that. You do you, Lee, but "Safety First", brother....

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms 7 днів тому

      Yup. And I didn’t even die. String throttle linkage, I can see why this could cause concern, however if you look at any cable linkage such as a Lokar for example, it’s the exact same theory, only the string is not as durable. The two worst case scenarios here is the string snaps, in which case I coast to the side of the road, or it sticks (which any linkage can do) and I just hit the kill switch and coast to the side of the road. The steel fuel filter is under the dash because this is a stock fuel tank and it gravity feeds from under the dash. The rubber fuel lines are gasoline rated and there is less than 6” of rubber which complies to NHRA tech. Along with that, you always need some sort of rubber in the system for flex. Aside from that, the fuel line location is probably the best spot for safety, as if it starts leaking, I will notice it immediately. The copper lines on the tri-power were replaced, so that’s redundant. They were also on this car for 13 years without ever having a leak or problem. And the last point I’d like to make. This is a hot rod, not a Volvo.
