This was good info, heard some of it before. But it was a good time listening to you guys shoot the s***. It's something I could definitely do more often. Thanks guys!
you guys should have a show where we send you the onx location or screenshot of where the viewers hunt and you guys say where you think the deer would be and compare to where the viewer sees them type of thing
And I had a few bananas go bad in my backpack. Threw them out for the hell of it, from my stand. Deer came in and ate them. I thought they might but, never tried anything like that before. Just thought I'd pass it on😊
They wouldn’t do well at all. The bucks in the north don’t sleep in the same “bed” every night. They don’t eat at the same spot every day. They just wander and sleep/eat wherever.
I’m so glad that you brought to light that the lack of a deer population leads to a lack of rubs. I’ve hardly ever seen rubs, or rub lines, in my neck of the woods in Ontario. Just googled deer populations in Indiana and first result said about 780,000. The latest Ontario numbers says 400,000 for of entire province!!!! We have a couple of big bucks on our property year over year, but never any rubs.
Good stuff!! With my evenings being so busy, I’ve been having to catch these the next day, but still enjoy the heck out of them. Keep up the great shows guys 😊👊🏼
My Pappaw used to worry about us kids playing around the country side where we lived in central Texas because of abandoned cisterns that may cave in with us. I remember he told me he’s seen them dug big enough to turn a mule team around in.
I live in north east texas and we hunt river bottoms an lakes/ swamps for the majority of are public. what I hunt sounds similar combine with alot cattle pastures an big hardwoods to what I hear dan hunt
Sword made me a custom sight, 4 pins. The 20 yard pin has a larger diameter fiber optic. Remaining pins are smaller so not to cover up too much of the target. Perfect for older. eyes! Rarely use anything orher than the first pin!
Another great episode, myself, I’ve been bow hunting since I was about 15 and I’m 44. I practice double the yards than what I actually plan on shooting at an animal. In these steep, thick mountains here in Harlan Ky I won’t take more than a 30 yard shot and rarely get a chance to shoot at an animal further than 20 yards. Again great content guys!
My first time out during shotgun season I packed a lunch to be prepared to sit all day. I was sitting down my shotgun was up against a tree 5 feet from me. I am in the middle of eating a banana and a doe walks right up to me and stretched out her neck to sniff my banana. I am obviously startled because with wild animal is 2 feet away from me. Lol😂😂😂. Do not worry no deer were harmed the whole season.
I regularly practice out to 100 yds. I would never ever shoot anything that far or even close to it either. It is an excellent oppurtunity to see how your bow is tuned, how it reacts to wind/weather and it just helps me feel super confident in my whole set up. That said I've never even taken shot further than 25 yds on an animal.
I almostvdied hunting last year laying there with no way out no help thinking of how possed my wife is gonna be if I die is what made me crawl out on my elbows
Went to the farm about a week ago in west center Wisconsin and there was a tacky rub. Its the earliest I've seen. Not sure if you are but my wife and I went to devil's lake and there was a sign for a missing kid. We walked along the boulder fields and I was surprised just how deep you could go. Some almost were like caves between the rocks. It wouldn't surprise me if someone was in there dead or alive.
We need someone to come here to Harlan Ky to help with herd management, there’s zero agriculture were it’s all strip mining and deep mining outfits. They do reclaim and replant plus they do install ponds. But we still need someone to help with the whitetail population multiply.
Real Hunter Code: 1. Never shoot a buck in velvet 2. Dont put cameras in the deer woods 3. Dont shoot young bucks let em grow up some 4. Hunt with traditional longbow
Yep we usually catch up then talk about a news story they get into the topic. Pretty much the same structure on every show. Just fast forward a bit if you don't want to listen to the entire show.
The video that would get u guys the most views would be ghetto hunting. I know Dan could do it. Get as close to Gary Indiana, Milwaukee, Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Toledo! Huge bucks live in these areas. Screw boring states like Nebraska, Iowa, Utah, Arkansas, and Kansas. The oldest biggest bucks are city slickers.

51:04 I agree rather buy American made but too hard to come by

That’s actually a pretty cool thought
I wouldn’t do exact locations but it would be awesome to have a public or private ground on onx picked apart by them from scratch no pins droppes
And I had a few bananas go bad in my backpack. Threw them out for the hell of it, from my stand. Deer came in and ate them. I thought they might but, never tried anything like that before. Just thought I'd pass it on😊
Missed the live 😢
Great videos brothers 😎
There checking all those trees on the transition thanks to Dan. lol
Do the public land challenge in NH white mountain national forest!!!!! I would be interested to see how mid-west boys fare in the North east
They wouldn’t do well at all.

They like to rub basswood , hemlock and cedar. We’re eat up with poplar here and not seen one rub on one poplar.
Josh tell Dan to try the ez v sight. No pin at all....
Long haired feral guy definitely has some deer IQ
Public land challenge in Montgomery county, Maryland boys

Hunters are the good guys. "Never trust a man that doesn’t hunt" Teddy Roosevelt
?? Does rubbing activity lesson as season progresses?

First team to successfully pick a spot thats for the other team that kills a deer there wins.

I'VE HEARD MANY YOUNG HUNTERS MIX THE M UP. ...MY BRO USED IT MIX THE 2 UP ALL THE TIME..DOESN'T ANYMORE...

What unit are you in Kansas may be able to help you out
Same with 625$ treeatands lol

Poplar and Jack pines most popular I found. Close second any type of pine/spruce. For rubbing.

Why shouldn’t I shoot a buck n velvet ?
Deep dive rubs!? 4 minutes in nothing about subject ?

A 30 yard shot is insane to me. U would have to be hunting open mature forests for that. I must hunt too thick of areas. 🤷♂️.

That true!
I see huge ones in Pgh
