Dan, Love the videos. Super informative. In addition, love my beast sticks. Used them last season and they do not slip. I am doing my best to learn this whitetail game. I have been bow hunting for 40 years and have killed tons on mule deer, elk, sheep, goats but the hunting is far different. Sitting behind a spotting scope and watching them bed and spending hours stalking is what I’m accustomed too. I get into the whitetail woods and it all looks the same. I have no problem getting deep into the woods to get away from other hunters. I’m used to big country and week long backpack hunts. I watch your videos in hopes of figuring all this out. Keep them coming.

Really good video for Summertime scouting tactics.....I will be out in the woods in about 90 days and I am starting to choose set-up locations. But this year will be VERY different than last year when I went out in the morning and hunted a ground blind all day....every day.....not doing that again.....that tactic produced ONLY nighttime activity in that spot as proven by the camera I had set up.......Can't hunt in the dark.....The first thing I learned from the DI School of Hunting was "find out where they are active DURING THE DAYLIGHT...!!!!!!". It sounds basic, I know.... but you'd be surprised how much time I wasted in the woods waiting for deer to show themselves only to come up empty......day after day after day. Things are going to be different now. 3 hunts at most for any particular spot unless weather dictates a post storm sit. Can't wait to get out there. Thanks Dan.
How long do you do your scouting for? I mean, how much into the summer, at what point do you stop, because you're leaving too much scent and/or it's getting too close to the season?
I'm so glad to see a video from you Dan I have been scouting and you have really taught me how to scout and hunt If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have all this info from my spots
Great video. Informative. Insightful. Having to know what oak trees are dropping what every year sucks. Which directly correlates to where they bed/spend time. My area is mostly wooded and 75% of that being acorn bearing oaks. This is where I'd be carrying binoculars and looking up a lot
I’ve noticed that too since I started beast tactics, I’ll go scouting and find like 1-2 spots out of the 40-60 acres I get around to scouting that day the rest is rigged with hunters, and what seems to be night rubs/sign, so I must be on the right track!
Dan, you Clue hound, I always say you get out what you put in and when you do three weeks of hunting and scouting out of 52 weeks that's the five percent success rate, you want a hundred hunt year round like the grumpy old man does. Escanaba here I come, can't wait to retire and live in the U P hang a Buck on the buck pole
People ask the grumpy old man All the time (how do you stay so young looking) and I say, Bacon fat Butter uuumm butter And the mushrooms 🍄 of the woods!!!!! So remember kids Bacon fat and butter
Grumpy always says (Walk a mile in a mans shoes for a week and you'll be seven miles from home) uuumm butter , just having some fun reminding you to always have fun with it (sccouting, hunting)

Dan do you have trail cam pics of the giant you shot this year that unbelievable hunt where he grunted so loud you thought it was a human at first?
I do not... But a lot of locals do.
How late into the yr are you scouting? I try to stay out after the green up.
Im scouting hard right now but will change to glassing come july.
Do you prefer the pioneer or the pioneer nord that's insulated?
Nord
450 ticks like this video 😆
Dan,what type of brush was that you were walking through? Just curious.
Not sure at what point your talking about, but most of it was buckthorn
I like the scouting set up videos 👍🏻
What is Spartan forge?
A mapping app for your phone
@@thehuntingbeast yup should have waited to find that out later in the video. Thnx

I got a nice pic of a pie bald, appears to be a year old doe. A real unique patchy look, with sort of freak big tail.
You sure can pick an area apart, detail’s details investigate the whole area!
Feeling beasty baby
I’ve got a raging clue
Recent invention Dan . Hip waders.
Sounds heavy, noisy, and hard to walk for miles either wareing or carrying...
Pheasantbacks are not good in my experience, not compared to morels
Thats like comparing lobster to soda crackers... Given the choice Im eating lobster, but I still likw soda crackers
@@thehuntingbeast fair comparison
Going this week. 👍
