Love these videos I learn a lot from them and thank you both. Dan is the big buck whisper I listen and watch everything he does and hopefully this year it pays off for me. I hunt the mountains, hills and swamps of northeast Pennsylvania
Josh I live in the brushy mountains of North Carolina,,here deer learn where people come in to areas to hunt and set up on tops of hills to watch where they think you are coming from ,,then when they see hunters come in ,,they leave the area completely and don’t come back for days.
Good stuff. You should use CalTopo for the combo layers Base layer= shaded relief (terrain) and click under map overlays -contours (10 ft) and -slope angle shading (gradient). You can pick out EVERYTHING (almost haha). Hit me up if you want more info.
I could see the charges being bigger due to the size of the deer if we’re talking a prince of poachers situation where the ranchers call the deer assets
How about how to scout in pine plantations in east central MS type terrain? Not hills as you would describe it but not flat like the delta. A 30ft topo is near useless. Many small streams in bottoms. Some can get swampy.
I posted a question about late rubbing on the beast forum a few weeks ago cause I am seeing the same thing here in Eastern PA. Found over 15 fresh rubs and 8-9 new scrapes between 2 properties first week of March
Here is you one tip ,,I’ve harvested the most mature bucks between eight am and 1:00 pm during bow season at the highest most secluded water source in mountains and in hill country. Like spring heads.
The severity of the fines as it relates to the score of the animal almost does seem excessive at times. If a person gets to a point in their life that they are poaching animals they probably just didn’t decide one day that they were going start poaching without doing some less minor offenses along the way. It all started with the minor offenses that they got away with like taking over their limit of squirrels for example. Then it slowly progressed over time to larger and larger offenses then one day their shooting deer off the road. From a law enforcement perspective it should start with stricter fines and penalties up front for the little things which will in turn prevent the big things down the road and ultimately the little things too. Huge fines and penalties for the larger offenses is almost like kicking the can down the road cause we should have bit it the butt when he took over his limit of squirrels 30 yrs ago.
I personally agree with Ohio or any state that chooses to have a more expensive fine based off of Antler size. Taking a chance of a once in a lifetime buck off someone else. Versus a doe, still wrong but not a trophy
I have 45 acres I own in SW driftless area in Wi that I would love to do a show about. I also have permission on another 50 acres connected to mine on the north and west sides of my property. Let me know.

Another great one fellas!! Exciting to hear about some of the things to come!!👍🏼
I do agree with Dan , poaching is poaching a small buck has the potential to be a trophy some day , and same for the doe that gave her genetics.
Thats why I watch. I believe him!
Awesome content! I definantly like the map portion. Really helps newbies really see how and i you look at something on a map. Look forward to.more!

Those walleye cheaters should've been tarred, feathered, and put in public stocks.
Poachers like Andre daquisto. He poached a lot of deer in Milwaukee County. I know this to be absolute fact.
What come on man give a explanation please that's a big thing to say
@wadetaylor1299 I promised someone who knows him personally I wouldn't say who told me. But I swear before God it's the truth.
@@mikemehevic5292 no kidding wow
