My friend just bought a m550i and tomorrow we are going to a Company who is specialized in chipping BMW’s. . Cannot imagine how it Will fly w at least 650 hp. What a monster this car is

The sound was the active grills opening up and Cushing the ice, hence why the sound stopped.

@@Casino_flo it is the active grill. every time the car starts it does that sequence for who knows. it opens and then closes maybe to test that it works.

@@AYO_KO lol no bro, that is called a cold start rattle. Its due to vvt sprockets leaking oil out of them because the pins wear out and cause a chain effect rattle on the timikg system............

@@Coral-reef. that’s not wrong at all. But cars that do have valves exhaust from factory are coded to revert to optimal position for cold start as well. My car isn’t remote start but it’ll override valve control to perform cold start unless I manually adjust them.

It’s the grill vents that open and close when it starts. When it’s off they close it sounded like ice was breaking off

I have that same set up. Strat it up. Put it in sport plus. Tap the gas to trigger the exhaust flap to open. Pull the flap actuator fuse. Flap stays permanently open. The cold start with the Remus is unreal. Doing it when anyone is near the back of the car is cruel. People standing around will drop to the deck if they don’t expect it.

@@furcoat9458 yup, chains strech out when they are used, like on a bicycle or motorbike you have to ajust the tension to avoid that the chain falls from the sprocket. Engines have tensioners that work with oil pressure. A cold engine without oil pressure, thick oil that is not for cold climates, and a worn out chain that rattels around in the engine block should be concerning.
