This looks like a MUCH easier option! I’ve watched the Bohobabe, and I’ve seen where people start with a braid and then twist. This is by far the best method I’ve seen. Going to give this a try on my 3C / 4A hair and I’ll post an update to let you know how it works for kinkier hair.

I’m so glad that I found your video! I’ve done this style three different times. I used Janet Collection Afro Twist Braid Noir for two of the installations and Punta Cana Twist by Freetress for my current one. I have 4c hair so when I originally tried the same hair that you used, it didn’t blend with my hair at all so I switched to Marley hair instead . It’s so easy and quick to do and I get compliments every single day! Everyone thinks they are real dreadlocks. Also, since I moisturized my hair, the rubber bands didn’t harm my hair. A lot of the rubber bands ended up breaking down, but because my hair and the hair I used is very textured and it’s twisted in, everything stayed in place. Using Marley hair was the way to go for me. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! You’re amazing! Thanks so much for the great video!
I too did these after watching boho babe's passion twist tutorial! Perfect boho style and easy to do. The time it took to do them was well worth the payoff. Yours looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Muriel Miller YES when she said they slipped right out I was like MINE SLIP TOO I have a softer fine texture too and I’m glad I saw this video for next time! When mine slipped I just turned them into braids lol
It's Mikaela As mine are slipping out I'm just going to use the rubberbands when I put them back in. I am not trying to do my whole head over! Lol.

The rubber bands are definitely the move for softer textures

Gah I am in LOVE!! 😍 I am terrified of the damage that rubber bands would cause on my 4c hair so I think I'll try braiding each section a little and then crocheting the hair through the base of the braid. I tried twisting from the root (I'm normally very good at it) but the texture of this hair made it hard for me to get it close to the root the way I like. Hopefully this works!

My hair is also fine. I found that the braid to twist method works really well. It allows the style to last for a little over a week before re-twisting the style

eYe Love your twists, instead of a rubber-band you can take your hair and just start a braid and then crochet it through... at least braid down a couple of inches so you never have to worry about losing one. Thats what Im about to do.

Prep your head by doing single braids but only braid it a inch and a half down then crochet in and twist you wont need rubber bands because the braids act as rubber bands. ..... the rest of the hair I would split and put the gel on and twist and blend like normal.

So pretty,do you twist the hair as you twist down or you just twist it regularly
Brittanie Monae I twisted the hair as I twisted down but not tightly and not for every twist. I did a lot of them differently. Sometimes I twisted the hair at the top, sometimes I didn’t. Hope this helps! 😘
