Awesome video showing the difference switch films can make! Although you should state that films will vary in thickness depending on who you get them from. TX polycarb films are my fav also, but I have noticed they are very thick compared to any others I have used. Kebo sells PC films that are a little thinner & Techkeys sells switch stickers that are even thinner. In most cases the thick TX films are the best, but for extra tight fitting housings like NK creams for example the TX films are just too thick to work. While using ones from Kebo or the stickers from Techkeys will work with them.
I've spent so much on this damn hobby already, now i have to go out and buy some teflon squares to go along with the lubing and spring swapping I'm doing. I need to find a cheaper hobby. thanks for the very high quality video!

Hey :) I know that I'm late and this is random, but I want to say thank you for your videos! I just got my very first mechanical keyboard and am very dissatisfied on how it sounds. Your videos gave me the a huge and final push towards modding my own keyboard :) Thank you again!
I love your content so much! Not only is it fun to watch, but it's great for understanding and learning about modding boards/switches/stabs. Specifically for this video, it is WAAAYYYY helpful since I just purchased from Black Ink switches and was debating if I should purchase film for them. This helped seal the deal, cause that sweet sound is just a DRRREEEAAAMMMM!!!
Just ordererd TX switch films since they are finally back in stock on the US site. Excited to try them on my Gateron Optical Reds! I would not have known about them if I never saw your videos.
Awesome video thanks for this I still liek the regular lubed because I like a slightly louder switch and lubed sound great but I have to admit the sound wuality is great on the one with the film

TX FILMS SWITCH 5.5$ all 15$ with airmail untracked is so cheap thanks you bro !! This month i will buy it. With my gateron yellow lubing with this lube, they will have incredible sound .

Thanks for the video. For my first build I think I’ll go with these switches and film set up. However, after clicking the provided shopping link, it shows two different film sizes. I was wondering which one did you use in the video?
Standard ones have loosen contacts. So when you open it, the contact would come out so easily. Retooled one housing holds the contact tightly than the standard one but the overall housing got a bit fatter.
Whats the best stabilizers and lube (for stabs and switch). My gateron black inks for my k6 will be arriving soon and i still dont have enough knowledge. :3ildcat is the og that I trust. Help me out!! 😭
hello, which keycap is used for keyboard in sound comparison? GMK bleached? I'm currently looking for all black on white keycaps, not sure what's the difference between bleached/minimal/Hennessey tho
Check 1:45. Putting the film in between the top and bottom cases reduces the gap and wobbling. So the result is just like video, better sounds for me. (Some might prefer stock ones.)
@@RoraighPrice Maybe it helps because the film reduces housing wobbling a lot. But I think it's not a big deal. I use the films for better stable sounding.

?????? Hi! I used the films for my every tealios switch (2 keyboards) and I like them. Using films or not should be chosen by your taste, not mine. :)
Such good information! I was planning to do this with Creams. Good to know that the TX are too thick for the Cream switch.

Using the films is up to people's preference but for me, no exception for Gateron switches. I don't believe Gateron switches without films. Lol
I could be wrong, but the second switch sounds slightly less lubed than the 3rd switch...it just sounds a little scratchier.
nice and quick test video!
inks sounds really nice when properly lubed/filmed

what size of the switch films did you use for these switches? i have gateron reds and was wondering which size i should get 0.15mm or 0.125mm
