I deceided one day to make a long haul flight completely without alcohol. I am a passionate wine drinker so it was not really that easy. I flew 11 hours and drank 2,5 litres of sparkling water. I felt much better on arrival. Fresher. Jetlag didn't hit me that hard. Since that flight i never had alcohol on board.
A great video, thanks. Your take off roll seemed shorter than normal for being so heavy for the long flight. You are a man after my own heart as I enjoyed the privilege of having a high tolerance for alcohol but being a scotch drinker I had to be careful when mixing champagne and/or wine with it so most of my flights were with scotch and after-dinner drinks. I think I would have forced myself to have had breakfast rather than just ice cream for my final meal! It was a real treat to see the selection of food offered to you especially the caviar which I dearly love. I have not had the opportunity to fly Etihad or even Emirates but I keep hoping some day to enjoy that luxury. Again, thanks for sharing your travel experiences and being young traveling the world is truly wonderful! Take care and stay safe!
Unfortunately my high tolerance is quickly disappearing, in a Virgin Atlantic flight (that I will post later), I mixed too many things and got sick :( Breakfast felt a little weird to me as we landed in Washington in the afternoon haha
Very different experience from my direct flights from the UAE to IAD on a 777 in economy. Fortunately always had a window seat, so I was able to sleep the entire time and never had to get up for anyone. Never left the seat either.
I've already flight twice on the Dreamliner: São Paulo to Santiago and the return flight, with LATAM! What an elegant aircraft! Great legroom and so silent 😍
I once flew on an A380-800 from JFK NYC to ABUDHABI on business class and it was one of the best the seat was very good and was also clean and the aircraft itself was very spacious but the second flight from Abu Dhabi to Delhi business class wasn’t thwt good
Why this big scandal about drinking l love to do it when I am waiting for my flight makes me mad to see people drinking coke or other kinds of soda they know how to have fun so genks don't change your friend Jerry
I thought that was weird too initially and I looked it up. It’s a mother of pearl spoon, they use them so the taste of the caviar doesn’t get affected. I’ve tried it with a metal spoon (on another airline), it tasted the same. Lol
@@GenkisTravels Between us, I didn't know the difference either. But upon contact with metal, some kind of oxidation should occur. Anyway, for the price of a first class ticket, everything should be as it should be. Simply TOP.
Was this video taken before the move to the new terminal? I know US pre clearance is still at the old terminal hence departing US flights still use the old terminal building.
It’s *mostly included*. You can take just about everything (snacks, goody bags, slippers) with you. The only thing you can’t are the headphones. Thanks for watching!
Theres nothing wrong to drink some al cholic drinks before and after boarding a plane l always done it and you feel much better after so genki keep up your beatiful videos coming and your funny commentaries your friend from north carolina jerry
Many thanks for a great trip report. First class experience at the airport looks very poor - business-class champagne, no driving to the gate to avoid the hassle, the first class look like has a lack of class. I hope that new terminal will fix it, but some of flaws are on Etihad service
@@GenkisTravels by the way I worked for Etihad Airways as a ground staff member perhaps 10 years ago and I loved it I do believe Etihad Airways is my favourite airline

That makes sense. I usually do that with shorter flights, but long-haul flights, alcohol makes me sleepy. But I do take hydrating powder.
Not everybody is like you poor thing l like to have a good time and alcohol helps a lot cheers baby Jerry
I've abstained from alcohol in Business or First too, and you really do feel so much better. It's just hard to refuse free booze!!

It's nice to see an airline taking pride in their product. Excellent video.
It was excellent service! Thank you for watching! :)
I flew from AUH 3 times. 2x to Bangkok ( original Frankfurt ) with 777-300 ER and 1x to Sydney A 340-600 ( original Berlin with Air Berlin ).
Lucky, I never got a chance to fly the A340 (especially the -600)! :)
Great video. It’s nice to be able to read the menu lists. A lot of other videos cover this too quickly. Thanks👍🏻
Yeah I try to slow it down as I’ve found people show it briefly/quickly/not at all. Thanks for watching! :)
Great video - thank you! Makes such a nice change from egos trying to make reviews about them rather than the product and "booting off the Tims!" etc.
Thank you! I just document what I see/experience. :)
Great video, looking forward to seeing more exciting videos
Thank you! :)
Great Report!
Ty! :)
Now this is what first class should look like.
I agree! :) thanks for watching!
I flew from Abudhabi to JFK couple of times in Economy Class and the biggest advantage is you can complete the US border clearance in Abudhabi Airport
I love that they have pre-clearance. It makes things so much easier.
We were in the same airport. Flying from Washington IAD to Abu Dhabi to Manila Philippines last year ❤
Hope it was a great flight! :)

I've heard their economy isn't all that great as well. I'll need to try it one day, for science. Thanks for watching!

And thank you for watching! The Dreamliner is a pretty cool aircraft :)

Etihad has an amazing product and service. I do feel the longer the flight, the better. I would love to try their First Class on the A380.

Aww, they didn't serve the Eggs Benedict on a silver platter?
Because, as you know, there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise.
I know! So sad :( haha
We went to Abu Dhai airpot with Etihad. We lived in Ras al Khaima at the time. Wasn’t to happy with the service for children.
That’s unfortunate :(
I love that Etihad Airways serves the caviar with a non-metallic spoon.

Nice video; too bad it wasn’t an A380 flying back to Dulles? 😢
Unfortunately :( I tried to get on it but when I flew this flight, the A380 was still grounded lol
Holy crap. Everything yellow, smog and sand everywhere. Who would want to live there.
Yeah I was so surprised by that. I know it's the middle east but still lol
And Batman, Turkey uses the airport code "BAL"--so if you're flying to Bali (DPS) or Baltimore (BWI), double check your luggage stickers.
Hah! Good tip! :)
hi and thank you for the great video,my question is , are the kiosks still available in the preclearance area for scanning travel documents?thanks

Yes it was. This was still in the old terminal.
Obviously, never flown First. Do you have to pay extra for the goody bags? Could you take this stuff with you, say, if you really liked the slippers?
