Used to fly to HNL from Guam several times with my husband a captain at United. A lovely flight even stopping by the Marshall Islands to get ice cream😂
An excellent video, I have travekked to Honolulu several times first time from Hong Hong through diabolical turbulence, followed by the 4 hours to San Francisco, on Singapore Airlines. Subsequently I travelled on Pan Am asd I was living and working in San Francisco, the destination was always either HK or SFO and sometimes with headwinds they didn't have enough fuel to make the whole journey this was back in the early 80's!.
Aloha and mahalo for sharing the video. As a Honolulu, Hawaii resident, I haven’t flown on Hawaiian Airlines since I went to Kailua-Kona on a DC-9 in 1995 and Las Vegas on a DC-10 in 2000.
What I really love about your videos is that you really enjoy what you are doing the service in the flight was terrific and the seat was very comfy the drinks service was spectacular to me is the best part of. Flying terrific video genkis cheers Jerry
**368th Like** I went to Hawaii the day after my birthday earlier this year on January 9th. I flew on Hawaiian Airlines and this was before their new Boeing 787-9 came out. It was a playable experience. The flight attendant saw i was recording my action, offered me something to hold my iPad up in which i kindly declined. I should've said yes but anyways, I flew to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. I also flew to Maui (James Hogg Airport if I'm correct) on the 11th. It was fun! I stayed in Hawaii for 4 days. I left with tons of footage, great memories and the best post birthday gift I ever treated myself to.
Thank you! :) That’s sounds great. I also went to Hawaii (but connected through HNL so I could fly the 787). On the way there I did fly the A330, which that layout is definitely dated now. :)
I did a 3 centre trip with my daughter from 🇬🇧 to LA stayed there for a bit, then flew to Vegas, stayed there for a bit, then flew Hawaiian from Vegas to Honolulu. I loved Hawaii and would love to go again to a different island but, it's an awfully long way with multiple changes so I don't know.
at least they didn't pull a bait and switch on your flight. Booked the 787 and they switched to a smaller plane cause it wasn't very full. Of course the 787 flight had higher fares.
We fly Hawaiian airlines two to three times each year since they started the nonstop flight from honolulu to boston. It is better to fly first class on the way to Boston since you get to use the lounge upstairs and to sleep over night on lay flat sits (longest flight inside United states).so far there are no 787 for this route nothing available even into middle of 2025.
without the dark rum on top a Mai Tai just isn't right. Flown to Hawaii on a United 787-10 in business class from Chicago to Honolulu. Flown inter-island on Hawaiian as well as Aloha Airlines back in the day have visited all the major islands. Back in the 1980's flew on the 747 from Chicago to Honolulu also.
Good luck in getting a better lounge. The worst Sky Club is better than HA's lounge. It is not worth the price for business class on a flight less than 6 hours. BTW that is the normal take off route you make an immediate right turn away from the city.
First class?? Thts not first class.. Thats business class.. Did you pay extra for tht seat just because they call it first class? If so you shoulld get your money back
Don't forget to like and subscribe for more videos. :)

Oh wow. That’s quite the journey to the islands!
What time did you watch this beauty land at SFO?
It was around 6:15pm
Will be travelling to Hawaii in August on Hawaiian airlines for the first time can’t wait,i love Hawaii mahalo.
Sorry from Australia
Enjoy! What island will you be going to? :)

Oh god I remember the DC-10’s. I see you don’t fly a whole lot :)

Thank you! I try my best to enjoy the flights. I was surprised how great the service was on Hawaiian. Thanks for watching! :)

I plan on doing the 787-9 at some point! I want you to be among the first people to see it when I come out with it!
Only one trip to Hawaii, which was a stopover to Australia in 1989. SFO-HNL and HNL-CNS (Cairns). Both sectors on Continental DC-10s.
I miss Continental :(
Going on my flight in around 5 days and im super exided to go :D
Nice! Going to Hawaii or coming back?
@@GenkisTravels oh I live in hawaii and I will be going to california

It's quite the journey from the UK. I think the Vegas stop made it too long for you :P
That was a lot of drinks for a 4.5 hour flight. Hope you made it off the plane safely.. Oh, that's right, you're not an alcoholic.
They did a great job at bringing the booze. After this flight, I went weeks not touching the stuff. :))
8R is also known as the reef runway as on the other side of the plane you can see a beautiful reef
Darn, shame it was so cloudy :(
Cool vid! How do you make those animations at the start of your flight route?
Thank you! It's in iMovie for Macbooks
In and out of HNL from US and Japan. United and ANA.
How was ANA? I want to fly their A380’s out of HNL

Ouch! Honestly, that fear did run through my head prior to flying it. Did they swap it for the A321neo?
My family and I flew to Honolulu from Canada on Wardair. No amenity kit?
No amenity kit was given to or from Hawaii :( I think they only give them out on International routes.

In the two flights I had, the Mai Tai was very inconsistent.
You’ve flown to Hawaii quite a bit! I never got a chance to fly Aloha Airlines :(
Is there wifi on the new 787's?
Supposedly they have Starlink WiFi, I didn’t get a chance to see if they did have it or not.

Makes sense. Last thing they want is for planes getting too close to buildings. :D
The lounge situation is awful.
Why did you not give the total price you paid for the seat ?
I don't always pay for these flights, a lot of times I redeem miles/points. This flight I used points.
Sadly that’s just a first class seat feels like a business class seats..
Pretty much every US based airline does that sadly.
@@GenkisTravels 😢😢😢
First Class ??????
It's really Business Class but they sell it as "First Class"
First class?? Thts not first class.. Thats business class.. Did you pay extra for tht seat just because they call it first class? If so you shoulld get your money back
They sell it as "First Class". They sell it as Business Class for international flights, I used points for this flight :)
finally a modern airplane, US airlines are cheap skate compare to the asian.
Agreed. I’ve been flying more Asian airlines as of late (for long haul).
The problem with American airlines is they're 2nd class airlines.First class in America is super economy in Asia even economy on some airlines
It's why I now fly non-US based airlines when I go oversees. The service is just better.
