Very nice video! But at 4:40, Frankfurt is not Germany’s capital city, and never was. It was Berlin, then changed to Bonn between the war and reunification, now it is again Berlin.
Friendly correction: Frankfurt is not now nor it had ever been a German capital :) Berlin is the capital now, whilst Bonn used to be the Capital of West Germany during the cold war partition. Oh... and by the way... Amsterdam is also not Capital of the Netherlands 😂🤣 The Hague (Den Haag) is and had been ever since the Dutch freed themselves from the Spanish colonisation. We love our American visitors 🥰 (Otherwise, an amazing video, and even more amazing price you've managed to find to enjoy first class luxury, congratulations - skills that you do have are far more important than knowledge of European capitals 😎)
I was about to go there. The closest Frankfurt ever was to being a German capital was the Frankfurt Parliament in 1848. (Then, you needed to be a history buff to know that.)
@@Archduke17 There was also Frankfurt school in 1960s... sometimes I think it made Frankfurt the Capital of the World - ideological followers of the Frankfurt school are still rulling over all of us in one way or another 😂🤣
@@outoftheframe1280 I stand corrected. For all of my 57 years of life this far I believed The Hague was the Capital 🤣😅 In fact it is officially designated as "The Seat of the Dutch Government" which in your country appears to mean something different from the notion of the Capital City. I also wish to say that I remember seeing something resembling a Royal Palace on my walks around your town. And remember wondering to myself: "But what is it doing here? Why it is not in the Hague? 😂🤣 Too many joints being smoked in the vicinity and the overwhelming smell of burning dope was obviously affecting my reasoning at the time. I apologise 🙂 Anyway I think Naarden should be the Capital, I also love s-Hertogenboesch and of big cities Eindhoven is by far my favourite. Netherlands is a very nice country, every time I was there, I enjoyed my time. The Dutch are kind and hospitable people. Thank you! ❤️
I'm so glad Lufthansa will keep these birds flying and therefore visible to the public eye for many years to come because I've been fascinated by them since I was a little boy and lived near an airport when they first flew in the late 1960's/early 1970's.
747s will always be the best airplane product of all times. I have flown the 747s all over the entire world since 1970. I do not understand the demise of the 747s == fuel costs, etc. ? This video was absolutely superb and highly enjoyable.
WOW! A window in the bathroom!! If you are not looking out the window......its impressive how much air traffic is zooming past you! Great trip report! Seems like a wonderful travel experience!!
My view on Air Travel is binary. I either fly coach as cheap as possible using flights where i do not sleep (using my status for extra legroom and recline seats) or I bite the bullet and fly first class as I am 6’5” tall with knee problems and business beds are not long enough. The 747 has always been my favorite in 1A so you can look forward. I am looking forward to the Boom Supersonic planes but LHR to LAX via FRA on Lufthansa is on my bucket list. Probably next year as I celebrate my 70th birthday. Great video by the way.
Welcome back with this wonderful vlog. Your vlogs are always so well done and interesting. A dream is to fly Lufthansa’s 747-800 First Class, but alas, my never happen. Thanks for taking us along on your journey! 👍
Private investigator Quintin, always curious also under the seats 😂😂😂😂 next time you should make your driver stop in front of the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, then you don’t have to do the awkward walk from the arrival area. The colorful rubber duck is cute❤️❤️❤️
Haha hey I’m always looking for a different angle! I had stayed at the airport hotel the night before so I wasn’t able to pre-arrange a driver (which I believe is complimentary for First Class). But the walk was amusing lol
The new Germany was born in May 1949. From then until 1990 Bonn was our capital. After we got reunited with the GDR Berlin is our capital. Place of all government buildings and our parlament. Lufthansa wasn't allowed to fly to Berlin during the cold war. Only Pan Am ( USA ), Air France and British were allowed to fly from West Germany via three airways to the island West Berlin. During that time Frankfurt developed itself step by step to a intercontinental hub. Lufthansa resumed flights from December 1989 on. Their promise to make Berlin their main hub again was never kept. Frankfurt is their Nr.1 hub followed by Munich. Berlin doesn't play even a small role in Lufthansa's movie....
This is one of your best reviews! Outstanding photography, the scenes leaving Frankfurt were awesome. Your programs are the most comprehensive of all of the aviation reviews. I am still amused that one has to "trudge over" to the Lufthansa First Class Building at the Frankfurt Airport. You'd think they could at least offer a golf cart type of vehicle to transport you over there. It's definitely worth visiting but I don't like that walk. 🤣. Looking forward to you next upload. 👍🏻
Thanks a lot I appreciate that! Yeah I found it funny no type of shuttle was offered, I even asked for help finding the terminal because the signage was so unclear haha
Very much agree with your comment re business versus first class. Yes, the liquor and food are better in first, but smart fliers don't drink a lot of liquor and even in first the food generally suffers by comparison to a good restaurant. Taking everything into account--food, liquor, more space, extra attention on the ground and in the air--first is pleasant, but is it worth often twice the price of a business class seat? Based on recent experiences with Emirates and Air France first class, I'd say no.
It is... The luxury of a full bed is worth it I'd say.. Also first terminal or concorde lounge are much more pleasant... And no quatar qsuites are not close! Just the Privacy is nice.
Thank you for a wonderfully entertaining trip to Chicago! You have done an excellent job with your video of this unforgettable trip and your efforts at photographing and commentary as your flight went across the sky. You would make a superb individual to escort flyers across our planet! Well Done! And again... Thank You! RS.
Wow! Totally awesome video! I would definitely give it a five star rating! Enjoyed every minute of it from start to finish! Everyone should hit the like button! Great job Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thanks for sharing!
É muito lindo esse avião impossível não admirar , esse fez história e estará sempre em nossos corações parabéns a Boeing por nós proporcionar tão grande alegria e prazer em vê.
Not halfway thru your video and already I'm impressed with the unique, shadow shot of the jet over clouds, then ground. Nice. Shot we only need to see once, but no one ever showed before; the mechanical guts under the seat. So this is how it chewed up my ipad. 😏
Thank you! I booked a one way ticket to get to Tunis for around $250. This video’s ticket was on a different one-way reservation that originated in Tunis to Chicago (with an overnight Frankfurt transfer). It’s an interesting way to score a cheap fare, but after getting detained and strip searched in Tunisia for being an American I’ll probably not do it again 😂
@@QFSAviation OMG. Are you serious about the strip search? I have heard about these deals starting if off-beat places like Algiers and Cairo. To be clear, where was your originating airport to get to Tunis? Stay safe.
A great video. I like Lufthansa, but have only flown them once to Europe from the U.S.: SFO-MUC-MAD, and then MUC-SFO. It's wonderful to hear that they are keeping the few remaining Queens of the Sky flying for years to come, but I'm curious and do want to make sure I understand this deeply discounted airfare. Were you already in Tunisia when you went to Chicago, or did you have to fly to TUN from somewhere else to start this trip, and if so, where did you come there from, and how much more was that added airfare? 🤔
Were you physically in Tunisia?? How did you book out of there and start in FRA to get that price if you weren't there? Thought airlines were on top of that kinda stuff.
Not being an expert I have a question re. the ticket purchase. You say in the video that you purchased a first leg from Tunisia. Did you take it or did you start your journey in Germany? If you didn't take the flight from Tunisia didn't that cancelled your entre trip?
Good afternoon from Brazil, Man! Nice video, thanks for that. I LOVE the BOEING 747-8i and I also impressed by the quality of the services you shown in this video. Lufthansa is really incredible and I want to travel with this Aircraft someday and I'm already have a Lufthansa Account to do that. I sent a compliment for them for the services and especially for keep the Queen of Skies on their fleet. I've just just subscribed and I will follow your content. Thanks and have a nice day. You get it to originate from Tunisia but did that mean you had to fly to tunisia first to catch the first flight?? Great to get it cheap but a lot of messing around to go from Eu to Africa to come back again.
Sometimes, its not because you should. But its because you simply can. This flight is on my bucket list.
The 747-8 is gorgeous. A work of art.
4:43 Berlin is Germany's capital
Thank you for video! A real report without any exaggerations or show. We need more like this on UA-cam.
Best review of a airline flight I've ever seen! No arrogant remarks, no insults, just observations!!! Bravo X Bravo!!!!

Never was... However Frankfurt has been the connection hub for Lufthansa in Germany, since at least the mid eighties or earlier
Must really hack off Berlin with that comment lol 😢
Frankfortt-Am-Mein was never the capital. I flew there in June 1962 from Cairo on BBOC ‘COMET’!
That level of education !wow I didn’t know 😂
I want to go! Wow wonderful Lufthansa is the best…..keep those 747’s !
I always welcome a vlog on 747’s. My cousin’s husband was a 747 captain in the heyday. I enjoy your presentations always! Lots of ambience! Best! 👍✈️

Glad to see the A340 at 8:11 is still in service. They used to fly one between Portland, OR and Frankfurt. Exceptional business class.

Thanks you Lufthansa for keeping the B747-8 and A340-600 flying 🪽 you're one of the best airliners in the world 🤍💙
Airliner means plane, you should’ve said airline.
Queen of the Skies still lives on!!!
The Queen of the Skies is a beautiful airplane. I've enjoyed several flights on this type of aircraft. Thanks Quintin for a great video💚👌👍
I’m glad you enjoyed it Scott! The 747 will always be the best ✈️
I was fortunate enough to be allowed to spend a few hours in the cockpits of two BA 747s in the pre 911 days.
I love the 747. Upstairs on that plane is a wonderful experience.
Well done young man. What a great review.
Love it the queen 👑 kommt seen Yankee tango in the background she's my favorite Lufthansa 🇩🇪✌️♥️ guten Tag

So you purchased your ticked in Tunisia. Did you have to fly the first leg from Tunisia to Frankfort?
Amazing video! The only thing is that Berlin is Germany’s capital city 😉
Very enjoyable and informative video
Frankfurt is no the Capital city of Germany. It’s Berlin. But Frankfurt is the financial hot spot of Germany
I've never flown Lufthansa First Class. I do enjoy their Business Class & lounge, tough the lounge does get quite full these days.
Finally Q, been waiting for this one for so long👌😀
I always love the Boeing 747-830 old livery and the new livery but the gold logo will still live on.

Thank you for sharing, nice to see vdo. 🥰
How did you get the flight from Tunisia to Chicago? How did you find that it was so so much cheaper is there a website that you use?
