Dwight Yokum has some good songs he was really big back in the day I don't think about plans some Dwight yocum Thousand From nowhere that's pretty good
she was called "The Voice" - a literal Swiss army knife of female singers - she sings, county, rock, folk, operetta, Latino - you name it, she can sing it!!!!
Linda... a legend in her own time indeed. Few, and I men few, female vocalists have that power and control as you're going up and then she can bring it back down very smoothly and with a velvety roundness that is not easy to accomplish when you can go that high. Yeah, of course.. no autotune here... all natural and well groomed talent. Sos Grande Linda!!
Linda Ronstadt is hands down my favorite Girl singer....All other Ladies are compared to her and none have ever been able to dethrone her from my personal chart of Greatest ever.
To answer the question: Blue Bayou is an unincorporated place/community located in the Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes in Louisiana. Linda Ronstadt is also partly responsible for the formation of The Eagles band, and she also sings in Spanish. Some of her Spanish-language music is so beautiful, that a non-Spanish speaker wouldn't care what the words meant... I for one, can attest to this! ❤
Lovely! I’m pleased you’ve seen another side of this outrageously versatile singer. You should hear what Dolly Parton thought of her. She could also sing opera (and just about anything else) as she proved later in her career. It was immensely sad when she had to stop singing earlier than she should have, due to developing Parkinsons Disease.
The lovely Linda no one can touch her, she was one of the top female artists of the 70's and 80's, she did this live, no auto tune artists don't perform like this anymore. She was a pure musical genius who explored multiple musical genres and was a smashing success in all of them!
Linda Ronstadt had a wonderful voice that is always a joy to listen to. This is really an "iconic song" that shows off Linda's ability to be soft and sweet and hard and raspy all in the same performance. I always loved the walking bass line to this song to. Great reaction Britt... I love the songs you have been choosing.
@@brittreacts I encourage you to check out Dan Vasc (metal singer) singing Amazing Grace (ua-cam.com/video/89g9yMGFGlM/v-deo.html)... I think you would really like this.
Linda is a powerhouse!!! She has won multiple music awards (11 Grammys, multiple awards from AMA, ACM, ALMA and the list goes on). Her performance of "La Charreada" is epic and she has a great duet with artist Aaron Neville "Don't Know Much", Loving your reactions!!!
You are going to have to check out the amazing voice behind the original Blue Bayou. Roy Orbison! Another voice that's above and beyond talent. After you listen to his version, his song In Dreams should be next. And You're No Good is another Linda Ronstadt song you HAVE to hear.
Great reaction Britt. Linda was one of my favorite female performers growing up. She has a great versatility and was very independent in that she sang a wide range of genres and didn't give in to the music industry and just do what was popular. She sang whatever she felt and found interesting (flamenco, rock, classical, country, opera, R&B). She also went out of her way to help other female performers. She was also a master of conveying emotion in her singing. She is very similar to Angelina Jordan in this respect.
100% pure talent, to go from that smooth and mellow to that loud and high and 100% under control, she is not yelling the song, her voice is just pure power, but clear and under control. Rare talent....
Linda has perfect pitch and could sing almost anything you presented to her. I've been a fan since her beginning. She is my favorite female vocalist. ❤
Linda was my first album cover crush, then hearing her voice just made me fall in love with her even more. She is one of the most brilliant and diverse performers of all time. She's sang everything from rock, country, pop, contemporary, Latina, and even opera. I distinctly remember when my sister was a toddler standing on my grandfather's shoes and dancing with him to this song.
Linda Ronstadt could absolutely sing the phone book and do it spectacularly!!! She is one of the best and could sing any genre!!! Bless her that she's not able to sing any longer due to her health issues. So sad for us, but thank God we have her recordings to enjoy!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please....more Linda. You can enjoy her sassy side with "That'll Be the Day" or "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me," or more like this one with "Desperado." Many many others after those!
This woman could do it all. It didn't matter what you put in front of Her, she nailed every time. May I suggest her song- ooh baby baby? Her voice in that song will give you goosebumps and put a tear in your eye. There is so much history behind this wonderful lady. Her backup group back in the day were called the Stone Ponies, which in the early 70s they became the Eagles. Linda Ronstadt now has, I believe Parkinson's disease and is unable to sing. Such a tragic loss to the millions and millions of fans of this legendary artist. We all love you Linda.
Linda, one of the best voices in Folk/Rock, in 2013 revealed in an interview with AARP Magazine that she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which will prevent her from singing anymore, so she made the decision to retire. Today his situation has worsened. Together let's pray for Linda's health.
My father like Linda Ronstadt. I remember him humming along to her duet I Don't Know Much with Arron Neville. After they pass, it's those little memories that seem to touch you in the feels.
I was fortunate to see Linda from the 2nd row at the Universal Amphitheater in 1982. The most remarkable thing was how effortless the words flowed from her lips. ❤
Roy Orbinson wrote, sang this song back in the 50's. Grease was set in the 50's, thus the songs sung has that style you raved about. Linda grew up during that period. She honors Roy's work in her talent.
I have always loved this song, such a great voice in Linda Ronstadt. and those that were associated with her profited greatly, When touring on her Third Album, the musicians signed on at the time created a bond which lead to the one and only, Eagles in 1971. Linda was a big part in the Eagles being formed as after Glenn Frey and Don Henley mentioned they wanted to form a band together, she suggested Bernie Leadon, but she told Leadon he was playing with her band, so Frey and Henley could hear him play, and made the introductions after. Randy Meisner was also in her band at the time, so the four of them were in agreement. Such a great person and vocalist she was.
Linda Ronstadt was incredible. And if you really want to hear some swagger to her singing and showing her vocal power, check out her massive hit, Living in the USA. She was one of my first celebrity crushes, along with the movie star Jessica Lange, and I played the hell out of the Living in the USA single as well as this song and other of her hits. She was just so good.
I’ve been a fan of Linda’s since the mid 1970’s. She is a vocal goddess. Breaks my heart her health went down hill and she can’t sing anymore. God bless Linda.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Britt glad to see you doing more Linda! She's an all-timer. His voice has great power but can also be precise and subtle. She does Rock, Country, Pop--dips into Soul, Blues, Opera, Spanish language/themed songs.
Linda is an Icon and probably the number 1 female singer of the 70s. She could sing any style and always great. She had a long list of hits, mostly covers, but all good. You might try "You're No Good" "When Will I Be Loved" "Heat Wave", "Back In The USA" "I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You" and that's just scratching the surface. This was a cover of a Roy Orbison hit from 1960 or so.
As others have said she could, and did, sing anything she turned her attention to. She was the top female rock star of the 70's in sales and ability to sell out arenas for her concerts but when she tired of that she set out on a journey of exploration of many other musical genres enjoying success in them all. She collaborated on three albums with legendary arranger/conductor Nelson Riddle of songs from The Great American Songbook that are all things of beauty. Some of the best selections include-"What's New" (the title tune of the first album), a haunting version of "I'm a Fool to Want You" and "What'll I Do?"
Linda, Emmylou, and Dolly were individual performers, amassing 45 Grammy nominations among them. Emmylou and Linda are good friends, and Dolly was their favorite singer. The three got together, discovered the unique sound of their blended voices, and made two albums together: Trio and Trio II (There was never an actual group called "Trio".) The first Trio album won a Grammy, an Academy of Country Music award, and produced four hit singles. There is a UA-cam video of them performing songs from the first album on the Johnny Carson show. There is another video just about putting together the first album (it took 10 years because they were performing individually).
Fine appreciation. Linda's pipes were glorious - clear as a bell - both tender and strong. Even when she belts the beauty is naturally sustained. As fellow musicians would say "If you're not listening to Linda Ronstadt well you're not as cool as you think you are" Thanks for your coolness!
Linda was born in Tucson Arizona. Her brother was the Chief of Police in Tucson. Linda had a famous partner for several years, California Governor Jerry Brown. Linda got her break with the Stone Poney's with the song A Different Drum which was written by Michael Nesmith who was a member of the Monkees who had a TV show in the late 60s and had many hits.
Linda had a major hit in 1977, covering the iconic hit written and recorded by the phenomenal Roy Orbison, 1961. Linda had a phenomenal career run. Really.😊
It makes me sad that you never heard her sing solo before. This woman had the best female pop/rock/country voice of all time - hands down! I grew up listening to her, Anne Wilson, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Carole King, Annie Lenox and Cyndi Lauper belt out songs everyday on the radio. Now, everything is so over-produced and drown out by background noise, that you can't even hear the singer. Thanks for the great reaction to such an incredible singer. I believe she now has a disease similar to Parkinson's Disease and can't perform live anymore, but her music has a throne in my heart forever.
And wasn't that years before the Eagles? I forget the name of their first hit but I used to sing along with it and what a challenge that was LOL. I just remembered it. You and I traveled to the beat of A Different Drum. ❤
I was in my mid-20's when Blue Bayou was released in 1977. I loved the song when I first heard it and I still love it today. And, I absolutely ADORE Linda as a singer and performer. Linda Ronstadt had such an amazing, amazing voice. Although she is still alive, in 2013 that amazing singing voice was taken from her after she was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear palsy, which is a Parkinsons-like disease. The '70's and '80's was such a beautiful era. The cultural changes, women and minorities really starting to come into their own - and the MUSIC. Oh, my god, the music. 😮
Linda is such a versatile artist! She can sing Spanish folk songs, Broadway - The Pirates of Penzance, American classics, southern rock, classic rock, just to name what I can remember!! I have been in love with her voice since I was 12 and I'm in my 60s now! 💖 Try "When Will I be Loved?" Great song! Thanks! You're channel is awesome 😎
In a class of her own. She is just sooo good. Love her voice. Today's singers should try to be like her. Pure & natural talent. No auto tune here folks.
I love Linda Ronstadt's voice. I have never heard anything from her that I didn't love. Just perfection. You should listen to more of her, for sure. One of my favourite performances of hers is "Your no Good" from the Midnight Special.
From a site I visited on the web, "The Blue Bayou is serene swamp-land found just outside the French Quarters of New Orleans, Louisiana. It takes its name from how the peaceful blue night-sky reflects on the surface of the water, giving it a blue appearance." Her voice at the ending of the song is intoxicating....
This woman could sing anything! And for those of us slightly longer in the tooth that had the pleasure of growing up to her music another thing is for certain, whatever the female version of the PDC would be (that can be published), Linda was mostly definitely the president of the club in her day.
This is actually my favorite song from Linda Ronstadt's recordings, but she has also some great albums where she sings songs from what we like to call The Great American Songbook.
Always love your reactions, Brit!!❤ Linda is one of the greatest singers of all time. Blue Bayou was an early song she did with the Stone Ponies. Definitely listen to her version of You're No Good. Thanks for posting this!!
Linda...really, a MOST beautiful, versatile vocalist ever! She excelled in all genre like no one else ever done. My favorite though is her singing the American standards with the Nelson Riddle orchestra.
She was the highest grossing female singer in the 70s and she sold out stadiums and clubs She even sings opera!! Willy Nelson said there are only two kinds of men...those who are in love with Linda and those who haven't met her!
On the original recording of this song by her one of the harmony parts was sung by Don Henley of the Eagles ...they were originally supposed to be her backup band at one time ..they toured with her briefly
Linda can sing any genre of music. She in fact has recorded her wonderful voice in those genres including opera! One of the most versatile voices ever! You should check her out to see for yourself. Nice reaction!
Thank you for making my day I Loved Linda Ronstadt, at one point in time the Eagles were her back up vocal band down in Sothern California. The Song Blue Bayou was Written by Roy Orbison. Love your reactions
Hey Britt to hear Linda's voice at its absolute best listen to her sing "When You Wish Upon a Star". The clarity and purity of her voice is absolutely off the charts Henry Katz
Great reaction, Britt! Linda was always my favorite singer in the 70s and 80s! She can and has sung many different genres. Please do more songs by Linda. Thanks
My uncle and Linda's brother were friends in Tucson, Arizona where they all grew up. He and Pete both recorded records at the same studio in Tucson when they were young. He was at my uncle's funeral in 2000. Linda was supposed to come but she didn't make it. Linda is a couple years younger than my mom. Mom said she's had those pipes since she was a kid.
This past Sunday we drove 160 miles to Jacksonville, Florida to see HOME FREE in concert/party! They are fabulous musicians, singers, and entertainers. The audience and the guys became family for a little while. They all seem like very nice men who genuinely love what they do and each other. Be well, Be happy, Duke
Linda Ronstadt had a fantastic voice! Not only that she could and did sing in just about every genre. She has a very deep and wide catalog. Well worth listening to more of her stuff! She also suffered from stage fright! As you heard, she could belt a song!
Great reaction Britt 👍. I had a crush on her back in the mid 70s. She had an amazing voice. She has a myriad of top songs 🎵 you should react to. Like "You're no good ". "Desperado" and many more. 🙂👍 God bless you sweetie 🙏.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching!

Rock, country, Spanish, or Opra, Linda has done them all, and beautifully .
Linda is the GOAT!
You mean Light Opera?
she is just that talented!
You forgot big band music....
Minor correction. She does light opera. "the Pirates of Penzance." Not Oprah. No duet with Deepak Chopra.
This song was written by another legendary voice.... Roy Orbison.
He sounds more plaintive when he sings it. Linda sounds determined
that is so cool!

From a site I visited on the web, "The Blue Bayou is serene swamp-land found just outside the French Quarters of New Orleans, Louisiana. It takes its name from how the peaceful blue night-sky reflects on the surface of the water, giving it a blue appearance."
Her voice at the ending of the song is intoxicating....
This woman could sing anything! And for those of us slightly longer in the tooth that had the pleasure of growing up to her music another thing is for certain, whatever the female version of the PDC would be (that can be published), Linda was mostly definitely the president of the club in her day.
Her and Karen Carpenter.
This is actually my favorite song from Linda Ronstadt's recordings, but she has also some great albums where she sings songs from what we like to call The Great American Songbook.
I will keep that in mind, thanks!
One of the top 5 female singers ever. I have a crush on her since I can remember
haha and yes she is great!!
Always love your reactions, Brit!!❤ Linda is one of the greatest singers of all time. Blue Bayou was an early song she did with the Stone Ponies. Definitely listen to her version of You're No Good. Thanks for posting this!!
She had one of the best voices. She sang light opera, Mexican music, rock, country, blues, and anything she wanted.
Beautiful and powerful voice. Saw her twice. Great concerts.
I Grew up listening to and singing her songs when they were new releases. I loved harmonizing with her. Thank you for the pleasant memories
She is a masterclass in how to carry a tune. Love listening to her!
Beautiful song written and performed by Roy Orbison. Linda did a great cover.
I’ve been waiting for you to listen to Linda all by herself. I think she’s fabulous in everything she sang. Thank you.
Agree, very emotinal voices both of them 🥰
On the original recording of this song by her one of the harmony parts was sung by Don Henley of the Eagles ...they were originally supposed to be her backup band at one time ..they toured with her briefly
Linda can sing any genre of music. She in fact has recorded her wonderful voice in those genres including opera! One of the most versatile voices ever! You should check her out to see for yourself. Nice reaction!
This song and her voice gives me chills every time. One of the greats.
Dolly Parton said" most people sing what they can. Linda sings what she wants."
Growing up in the 70' and 80's, I had all her albums
All 3 members of the trio are music legends in their own right…Linda has a very diverse musical catalog…a rabbit hole worth exploring…
Thank you for making my day I Loved Linda Ronstadt, at one point in time the Eagles were her back up vocal band down in Sothern California. The Song Blue Bayou was Written by Roy Orbison. Love your reactions
I was born in 1960, so the 1970s were my teen years. I had a huge crush on Linda 😍😍
Blue Bayou was written and first performed by Roy Orbison, another great singer.
Hey Britt to hear Linda's voice at its absolute best listen to her sing "When You Wish Upon a Star". The clarity and purity of her voice is absolutely off the charts
Henry Katz
Great reaction, Britt! Linda was always my favorite singer in the 70s and 80s! She can and has sung
many different genres. Please do more songs by
Linda. Thanks
Linda my all time favorite female vocalist. Incredible vocal control and range
My favorite Linda Ronstadt song is "You're No Good". She can really belt 'em out.
She has “THE VOICE”!!
As you heard, she could belt a song!
for my money the greatest female vocalist EVER
She "bends" notes. Gorgeous.
Great reaction Britt 👍. I had a crush on her back in the mid 70s. She had an amazing voice. She has a myriad of top songs 🎵 you should react to. Like "You're no good ". "Desperado" and many more. 🙂👍 God bless you sweetie 🙏.
