Bluegill large enough to eat are excellent table fare. Usually out here in the west, the orange/yellow belly is a female somewhere in the breeding stage. Good job. When I lived in Ft Myers, we caught lots of them up the Caloosahatchie River. Also, they had a red ear sunfish that resembles the bluegill. Also great eating, and often a bit larger than bluegill. Keep up the great work, and stay safe.
Man i see it was good time on the water man. You got some big crabs out there. It was awesome seeing you clean & cook the crabs. You have a good week & a good Memorial holiday. Me & my whole entire family & family friends are going kayak camping for the holidays. You & your family have a safe holiday buddy.
Ian i was gonna say those aint " blue " crab traps they are green and yellow, but then i realized they are blue crabs 🦀 Ever time i hear you say dattal sauce i aways think datta'll do it That food looked amazing
Dude that looks awesome. Stealing the recipe but gonna do it on the pit Boss. 250 degrees oughta do it. How long did you cook to get the bubblies before flipping???
Tug Trash. I see you have a master built pellet smoker next to your gas grill. Next time try to smoke the crabs for an hour or more on about 160 to 180 degrees. Then transfer them to the gas grill. Mmmmmmmmmm good
Great video, I am amazed how shallow you throw your traps for crabs and lobster, here on the west coast most lobster hunting is done with tanks, rock crabs in 20 ft of water,, nice work,
And before you take off you need to fill your reservoir too because if something happens and you start getting a leak in your coolant system you can pull it will pull coolant from your reservoir I always keep your reservoir full
Crickets or worms preferably fiddle worms works best for the bluegills. They’ll go crazy over the fiddle worms because of the smell. Imo the biggest gills ive ever caught as a whole has been on pieces of fiddle worms. I cut em about an inch long as I’m hooking them up. Don’t try and cheat and precut them. Just hook it about a 1/4 into the worm on one end and flip it out and let em work their magic.
I grew up in NJ crabbing with my dad. Live cleaning and steaming is how he always cooked and served them. Its a much better experience for your guests and the seasoning gets into the body meat. Best way to cook em.
It all looked delicious! You're exactly right saying the trick is to not over cook them. I crab on the south end of Lake George and grilling is my favorite way to cook them. If you cook them to long though the shell gets brittle and you'll get tiny pieces in your meat when you pick them. (I know from experience😁)
I did this by mistake, I checked my crab trap beneath my dock and was already barbequing and decided to throw them on the grill with minced garlic with salt and pepper, changed my life... Right in the comfort of my backyard...
Wow what a fantastic feast, I I think it is the best way to cook a crab, the flavor gets concentrated, and the garlic butter takes it to new levels. THANKS
Loved it
Keep up the good work brother
Thanks! Will do!

Hey my friend I think you have Mr. Gabe beat in the kitchen 😮 hahahaha ❤

Try Durkees sauce on your crab claws. You can get it at Walmart or online.y family have been using this on cocktail fingers for decades.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll give it a try.
Next time try just olive oil, garlic, and basil as the basting sauce
Sounds good!
