How do you drill/pierce through the Cordura and how do you get clean edges? Because the drill and sanding belt get so hot, my tools always stick to me. Thank you! 🙂
We use an Exacto-style knife to cut the outer edges. Then, we use Kydex drills to create the passthrough holes. They do a great job of cauterizing the edges of the material. You can find those here: www.holstersmith.com/vcom/tools-drills-c-548_527.html To smooth and cauterize the edges of the outer shell, we use a 600 grit abrasive wheel. You can find those here: www.holstersmith.com/vcom/sandingpolishing-flap-wheels-c-548_805_806.html Let us know if you need more help! Alex
I have some of the precut ones for TLR-1HL and Holosun, the onky reason I'm worried is with the ones for the weapon light.. I feel like it'd mess up the smoothness inside kydex holsters
Do you intend to make bigger sheets? 1 ft x 1 ft is a tiny bit too small for my intended usage.. And how about Europe? do you have a retailer or at least ship to EU ? :P
Hi Daniel. We can do just about any custom size. However, you'll want to contact our sales/support team to discuss the dimensions that you need as there might be a delay on production, depending on the size. Also, we ship worldwide. Anywhere in the EU is no problem at all. We ship there daily. Thank you for watching, and let us know if you need more help! Alex
Hi Heath. Stay tuned. We're adding it with the next pattern release. We're also adding the new Nemesis line, as well. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks again!
Make sure you don't get the cloth (or Kydex!) too close to the heating element when warming. Like most cordura cloth, it will singe, or begin to melt, with too much direct heat exposure. As long as you heat it at a distance from the element, like you would normal kydex, it'll work just fine. Don't let it over-cook, however!
Nylon - Cordura is nylon - melts around 400 - 450 degrees F., if I recall correctly. That doesn’t mean that less high heat would not also cause some structural disintegration and/or damage to the polyurethane water resistant backing of Cordura. It is possible to purchase Cordura without a coating, if that helps envision successful projects.
@@KnifeKits Thank you. Just created acct and purchased. Also Subbed. Question: I bought a Safariland 6354RDS in what they call "Ranger Green" which is actually 100% without question OD Green. So my intent is to disassemble the holster wrestle off their cordura wrap and install yours. Any tip on the removal? I wish you were in south Florida, I'd have you do it. Thanks again.
About the only way I know is with a heat gun. However, with medium-high heat, you risk deforming the holster. I wouldn't add much more than low heat to soften the adhesive. Thank you for your business. Welcome to the addiction! Alex 🙂

No regular MultiCam?

Update: MultiCam is now in stock! 🙂 www.holstersmith.com/vcom/edc-wrap-sheet-material-c-546_1057_1061.html
Is this pretty much the same material safariland holsters use?
EDCWrap is made with 500D Cordura with a polyurethane coating. We have customers who put it on Sarariland holsters! 🙂
Will this wrap have any adverse results if you were to apply it to a flat sheet of kydex then proceed to heat it (bake in the oven) and mold it?

Thanks. Over cooked kydex sucks. Looking forward to trying this product out.

@@williesnyder2899 totally helps. Seems that it would be safer to apply it after applying heat to the kydex. Thank you!
If I sent you my holster could you wrap it for me ?

can you provide me with a 12"x12 500D Cordura with poly in Ranger Green? Your site only offers 6'x12"

I think a heat gun on any setting is not good.

How sharp of a blade are you using. Everything I tried laughed at cutting,
Nothing as nice as yours.
We use a fresh razor knife and recently sharpened scissors. They work like a charm and will give you super clean cut edges.
