Thanks for the video. I have the Safariland 7TS level3 and stock nub on it works fine for me. However, I had to get a 6360rds level 3 series for a new gun and the nub on in my opinion needs a modification so planning to get the OT defense one. With the gun I have for the 6360rds and the size of my hand, a bigger nub works for me.
What is the triangular piece of plastic on the outside of your holster, where the hood used to attach? Where can I get that? Thanks so much. Great video.
That’s the retention for the ALS. It spring loads the als nub to keep retention. When they built the holsters to accommodate red dots they had to change the location of the spring to the outside.
My thought on that is just so that there is something there to keep the holster from flexing around the light, I wish I had a 100% answer but you kinda got me scratching my head lol
Why do all UA-camrs shake and rock/roll what they have in your hand? Makes me seasick and often I quit the video early which hurts your analytics. Bob in Nevada
If you want something like that you can take a paddle bit to it and that way you can run whatever size you want. Thats what im going to do...and save 40 bucks lol
@OTD defense “all the doubters “? I am the only one doubting it if, and I’m sure the cost of you all making them can’t be that much, so with that being said if sending one “free” nubmod is gonna bankrupt your company I guess you better hold onto it pal. Best of luck
No everything got worked out with getting me a correct one! It took a little bit ( I don’t knock a company for being busy) but everything did get sorted and worked out and I got myself the correct one and have been using it ever since!!
Those 2 mods are kinda dumb really I been using safariland holsters for 15 years and never had any problems with brass or debris getting inside of it and causing malfunction, the thumb mod is also stupid because the OEM is already big enough and you’re just simply grabbing the pistol with a firm grip. No way in hell I would pay 40.00 for a open cap when I could just remove the OEM problem solved some ppl just do mods to give there buddies free money 😂😂😂 this video is pointless
Hey man to each their own, I like the portal, saved me a few times shooting next to buddies, I don't know if I'd say it's pointless but hey man you don't like it thats fine not everything is meant for everyone!

I agree with your comment about Spectermods. He will literally wrap just about anything and do it very well.
I want him to wrap the world 😂

I forgot to thank you for the recommendation, snagged the nub before I saw your review, and then I got the portal and rewrapped.
Niceeeee!!!!
Nub mod great, 5/8 drill bit saves you cash and does the same thing… been doing it for years…
How?
@@JEJAK5396drill a hole in the stock light plug. Instead of wasting money on a aluminum one
The Ghost Man Design mod you can use a paddle bit to make the hole at home and save money if you want to try it yourself.

@@Shortyjr02Thank you!!!!
Very cool, will check them out.
Can’t recommend spectermods enough. He did my safariland 6360 and a knife sheath in multicam black.
He is the goat, always hookin it up!
Which nob mod did you get for your 6354do? Site is a bit confusing. Says "Als for 6000 series and non rds" doesn't the 6354do also come in RDS?
Am i missing something? why not just leave the Plug out instead of Buying that "portal" thing?
My thought on that is just so that there is something there to keep the holster from flexing around the light, I wish I had a 100% answer but you kinda got me scratching my head lol
2:19 IMO i wouldnt worry about lock tight. Ive had my nub mod for like half a year and never had any issues with it coming loose.
Hey it never hurts! 😂
@@RedactedGear We have a nylon patch custom applied to our screws, but yes, humoring murphy and putting some blue loctite on there never hurts!
Wouldn’t a drill do the same thing for the plug?🤔 I’m waiting on the nub knob to be back in stock.
I mean yeah, I just wanted to support. Some peeps could do without it, I just wanted to try it
you should try out U.S. Duty Gears level 3s they are very competitive to these NO nub mod needed
How many videos did you make about this same holster model?
A few
I dont really see the point in the portal thing, its far easier and cheaper just to take the solid one out and leave that space empty
This was what I was thinking too. Curious if I'm missing something
i feel like thats just an Airsofter Thing so you can have more "gucci gear" instead of just doing the cheap right thing
@@Nick-hm9rh it could be for rigidity but I dont see that being a big issue
It’s to keep the bottom of your holster rigid if anything drill a hole in the plug but don’t just take it out

Yup!
Hoping to have an even better option than the Ghostmen Designs Portal 😉

We gotta stick together
Just use a spade bit on the original. It’s free. Or just throw it away.
Don't shake things in your hands. Drives the viewers nuts and makes us nauseous.
