Thank you. Love the content and your sponsored videos. You're a professional home owner and I respect your choices and products you use and test. PS. I almost bought a Harbor Frieght winch! Love the WARN. When's the WARN Stump vid?? 🤣👍👍
Where this could useful is if you need to conform to certain uniform standards and the holster needs to be a certain color for example security contractors and military. Also, you could use the excess material to wrap other pouches, etc.
Glad to see you back! You don't realize how much you look forward to these videos until you aren't getting them everyday. Big fan of Trex arms as well!
I've used clear nail polish around the edges, too. Seems to work real well. Used it on my dirtbike's graphics edges, as well. Keeps those edges down real well. The sponsored ads you do are fine because of our common interests and we know the ones you chose are ones you use ! Glad to see you're feeling better. Prayers
Why not align the edges of the wrap with the open edge of the holster, leaving a bit of overhang, and then trim it off like the rest when you go around with the razor? Then you wouldn't have a seam at all. Regarding the ads, I prefer the sponsor spots over the random and annoying YT ads. Interesting idea. Not something I'm likely to do to my holster, but interesting to see how it's done.
Agreed on all points. That said, you could design a bunch of holsters to match the fabric of your pants so that they blended in to that fabric as a form of social-camouflage.
it is as you said. i would keep the few inches of overhang and glue them on the inside just past the screw holes. then when the glue starts to fail at the edges, the screws hold it from slowly unwinding completely.
I was going nuts watching him center the fabric on the side of the holster, instead of lining the edge of the fabric up to wrap around the holster. They made the holster with a single piece of Kydex, so why not do the same with the wrap. Ugggggh.
Looks awesome Cody, next time I would recommend just wrapping the whole holster leaving both edges overhanging on the open side of the holster, (where the retention is) that way you will have no seam on the holster at all. Awesome video, I will be doing this to some of my stuff in the future.
I don't OWN a gun (UK) and never will but I just love watching this guy. He seems to have ALL the toys and ALL the hobbies. I'm sure not ALL Americans have this much stuff in their lives but most you tubers seem to have tons of stuff. Boats, SUV's, Jet Skis, guns, tents, stoves, rods and reels, chain saws, welding gear, pressure cookers, mason jars, etc. etc. etc. I should move!
I laughed when I read your comment Chris. I agree with so much of what you say. I also live in the UK, in the suburbs (like so many of us) and I prioritise space in my home over STUFF. But I still love watching others using the stuff I used to drool over owning. I have so much stuff, I can’t get enough space in my tiny workshop / storage spaces to use it properly 😂🤣. So I will go on giving my stuff away to friends until I can do what I really prioritise. Whatever that ends up being. Tough choices!
@@mrbluesky9891 it’s a very polarised society. Some do. Some are living in inescapable grinding poverty. Many are in suburbs like me. Instantly recognized Rekieta's stream in the background as I have had my computer set up with it on in the background each day throughout the trial. By far the best coverage of the trial anywhere.
Best Channel Ever! I love your videos and when I needed to learn how to wrap holster - I found it here too! So much great information even for old school survivor like me! There’s always something new to learn every day!
Cody, I'm so glad to see you've bounced back. I hope your family is doing better as well. However you choose to monetize, we're just happy for the content.
Part of the benefit of wrapping a holster in this type of material is it cuts down on reflectivity since kydex can be kinda shiny. And noise reduction from a branch or something similar, instead of plastic is on cloth. I think both are minimal, but every bit counts sometimes. I prefer ads from content creators as opposed to the ones from UA-cam.
The closet pole trick is genius! And warming the glue first is definitely important. If the 77 glue is cold it won’t set and sprays out very clumpy/ bubbly. As far as the advertising on your channel, the more you can control the content the better!
Glad to have you back!!! I like the sponsored ads better then the UA-cam ads like you mentioned! Some Tubers that I follow do both and its annoying. Stay safe!
I would much rather see the ads that you record yourself, instead of the random UA-cam ads. At the end of the day, you deserve to make a buck or three off of these videos. You put a lot of work into them, and you're sharing some great knowledge. I trust that you won't advertise anything that you don't believe in, because you're too good for that. Keep it up, Cody.
great diy project. quick question, why even have a seam in the back? I think you can just wrap from end to end just like the sheet of kydex was folded and cut. not sure if i'm explaining that correctly :). glad you are feeling better.
Was thinking the same thing. Since a kydex holster is basically a taco for your pistol, after the hardware is removed, you could just form another taco with the fabric and put the holster inside of it; and then cut the edges after the fabric has been fitted.
The reason I opened comments was to say this. Maybe there's a professional home owner reason... It does look great though. Not that I have a holster. Or a firearm.
I am very glad you recover more and more. You are you looking much better than in the last videos! Hope your daughter is fine as well. The ads you put in the videos are fine as I know they are important for your living and the contant I enjoy.
