Safariland is great but their model listing and product array and descriptions thereof, even with their holster finder, is downright inscrutable. What's this acronym mean and how is it distinguished from this other acronym? No idea! Where do I find out? Somewhere else! How do these models differ? Who can say!?
I tried to buy a safariland holster snd it honestly just wouldn't let me purchase it at all, I had the money and everything and it just wouldn't go through
I lucked out when I found CopsPlus. I was trying to find a Safariland holster for a USP40 with a GG&G adapter and light. I called customer service and they found the correct holster for me that they had in stock. Made the purchase and when it arrived it was a perfect fit. Excellent customer service at CopsPlus!

Very happy with topic choice. Thank you! Requests for the sequel if it ever happens: low v. mid. high, pro/cons. Holster selection for pistols without manual safeties. Pros/cons of various locking mechs vs access speed. Finally - how do I compare kydex holster makers for my setup? It seems that by the time I specify my gun make/model, light and red dot maker I'm lucky to find one if any. It's easier to find a house online to buy than a holster. 🙂
I said the EXACT same thing. He could just said "THIS is the ABCD model" but it might not fit your gun so go the website and check. I'm trying to differentiate between the mid drop and the QLS system which they say causes the butt of the gun to be at your waist which I prefer but unsure if that is true. I want a high riding one like the one HE has but failed to share. It's CRAZY!
Safariland has a long track record of being the preferred level 2-3 duty holster but US Duty Gear holsters has similar features but with more options to different firearms and camo cordura wrap options.
Part of why I am gravitating back towards Glock or Sig is because of the Safariland 6000 series. Unfortunately the 7000 series is IMP and I am less of a fan of that, I am sure Safariland has worked the kinks out though.
Good comments & advice. I live in a rainforest, as a result, I would prefer a holster that covers the sidearm totally during rain. However, when the rain stops I would like to be able to remove the cover in order to quickly access my sidearm. 👍😊🇺🇸
It's good that you cover the holster, but from what I can see there is so much more to getting a rig and the holster is just one part of it. This is a topic that needs a fully run down and detail about why, what and where. I am now on my second round of purchases as there is not lots of detail on many manufacture sites. It would be great to break down a whole system and why you use it. Belt, adapters, connectors, adjustments, use and pro's cons with durability.
Been wanting to know what brands make tactical style holsters so thanks for this video. Question; are your mag holders also Safariland? When I look at the tac holsters and pouches, they don't really look like what you're using here (which is what I'm looking for).
Im a LEO in Texas and l carry a Glock 17 gen5 with RMR and a TLR1 light for duty, my prefer holsters for duty are the 6354 DO and the 6390 RDS with the ALS system and low ride, my opinion they are the best models.

If your completely confused with safariland holsters, it's pretty normal. Fi d o e you like abd stuck with that company as they usually have their own QD type systems to cha ge holsters.
Miles, can you please help me out. When I run a leg holster using the UBL/CUBL and the QLS system no matter what holster I use the gun cants towards my foot and I hate that. How are you overcoming this? Using washers on the bottom bolt to push that bottom out? Using a pad to push out the bottom? Thanks
I have mine just like his. I just got mine and already the CUBL is digging into my upper thigh. There is a piece that i can get as soon as I find out what it is. On John Lovell's video on Safariland holsters he has it.
Me personally i bave used a drop leg holster for my airsoft stuff and its not really that great because the drop leg can shift around and move to where you would not expect it and for my 1911 its fine but for my glock it presses on tbe mag release so when im running the mag flies out
As a SoCal cop, I carried my 92F in a crazy high ride holster. No body wanted it. I thought it was great when walking through crowds. My forearm block the length of the grip.
Most don't, you usually have to buy them separately. Also, check out some other leg strap options (we make one - obviously biased) before you get the regular Safariland type. There are way more comfortable options on the market that offer the same, if not better, retention.
Can you tell me if your leg strap that you are running with your Safari ALS quick system gets mounted into the 3 hole pattern or is it just ran between the mounts like a belt loop. I am trying to find out if there is an adapter I need to purchase to make this happen. And is that a midrise or low rise platform. Thank you. Best channel

Hello there, first time commenting here. I have a question. Has SafariLand have Universal holster for more than one pistol model? Because its very good but its quite expensive thats why I want to buy something Universal. Thanks in Advance!!
If you can't see your target, probably shouldn't be shooting at it, A. B, we won't get into that. The Rapid Force Duty Holster and Safarilands for Glock 17s will fit your G45 just fine. 19 slide on a 17 frame.
Safariland doesn't make a holster for EVERY pistol with options. Often you'll only find the holster for the pistol itself, and no options. That's just them focusing on providing the most options for the most popular pistols. It costs money for holster molds, so they aren't going to spend money on molds for low popularity combinations.
Depending on the firearm, stay clear of blackhawk. I could slide a finger in between the trigger guard and trigger. Not ideal, at all. Too high of a chance for foreign objects to get inside the trigger guard.
Hi Myles, would like to see teaching video about using the 1911 if possible, appreciate your effort and I know how much these great video and topics take time to prepare, continue the success
Safariland was first introduced as a Police Holster. Then Uncle Sam decided to ditch their nylon flap holster because they wanted to LARP as LE and Safariland got those sweet military contracts
ACK! Safariland's "holster finder"...yikes 😬! Make sure to tie yourself to something before you go in, just in case you can't find your way out 😳. P. S. I own three of them 👍.
SAFARILAND WARNING!⚠️ if you do not have a popular handgun you won’t get the holster you want from safariland unfortunately. I’m picking up an M9A4 and there is NO optics compatible holster for the 90s series of handguns. Which is odd because they aren’t unpopular and while limited some LE still use the platform.
Dude...found one for 185, and then you can find some old ones that need to be modified for below 100. Oh here we go 6360RDS for Smith 135...now if you were trying to buy for a mote niche gun I might have sympathy, but you aren't...took me a few seconds to pull up a listing below 150.
