My 2017 performed just like this when I got into a head on with a pickup, nothing pushed into the cabin, I walked away injury free

Approx. 30mph for both vehicles at the moment of impact.

@@Fett316 Then that equals to 60mph impact. Glad to hear you and hopefully the other party are OK.

thank you. I'm about to buy a 2020 model for my daughter. I researched the safety in the smaller cars and Impreza comes back as one of the safest. This video and your statement just confirmed that. Thank you.

Amazing the windshield didn't even crack a lil and the cab of the car still has full integration

I think Subaru's are very safe cars, I now have my 4th Subaru, it is a 2011 Legacy, has over 100,000 miles, Only problem is drivers window not working. Hope to be able to afford an Impreza (used one) someday.

Well just took a giant deer on outta nowhere neither of us looking straight at the road saw it. Airbags deployed but I wouldn't say they were violent. Did cause a lot of confusion as it went from clear day roads to white whit a significant strike. Hopefully the car is repairable or I'll be paying 500 a month on fees to thin air on the extended warranty we purchased along with the other stuff that brought amount financed at 27 for zero down. Was only underwater due to that stuff. Haven't even made a payment yet 😖
The car would still be right around what I payed as I have only had the damn thing 5 days.
My luck this past six months is hit garbage. But I can attest Suburu makes a safe car.
Sucks I likely was only an owner for less than a week

I find this test so unconventional. No woman would ever sit that close to the dashboard in the passenger seat. In the owners manual it says sit as far away from the airbag as possible. So why is this dummy so close? I want to see how she would react to the airbag with the seat all the way back like it should be. Would she even touch or even get the benefits of the airbag?

What do you expect from a dummy?

You are underestimating people's dumbness. Go and drive by your local high school at release time. Watch kids sitting in their car and doing stuff. Scary ! I live 1.5 miles from one and constantly see them. Least amount of attention is paid to driving. Everything else is so much more important. Thanks for safe cars, we can't be alive without them anymore.

Worst case scenario v Minimum survivability. Airbag prevents face/dash interactions, everything else is seatbelts job :)

I sit close... What can I do? I actually need to reach my clutch and see out of the windscreen. Men tend to be taller and I suppose they design the cars. I drive a fiat panda now which helps in that regard. Also, being a woman driver I understand the importance of keeping my distance and have to depend on my driving to keep out of accidents instead of trusting the car to save me in one.... silly me!
