I am from Brazil and almost all the people are not conscious about being polite and elegant. It is a too casual country and that is why your channel comes as a resource to women ( I myself included) whole want to be the best version of themselves. Thanks so much for presenting us with such great content and inspiring ideas!!!
Truth. Sou brasileira e me sinto um peixe fora d'água, tenho espírito britânico kkkkk Gosto de vestidos midi, chá da tarde, etc. Nosso brazilzão é lindo...mas não somos um povo chique, tenho que admitir 🤣🤣
I'm about to serve afternoon tea for myself! I usually do but now it can feel more relaxing and as selfcare! This is beautiful, your book is a must have in my collection.
I loved how the food items are easy to prepare. Instead of getting exhausted of preparing for an afternoon tea I can now look forward to seeing my friends. Thank you for sharing
Very nice. Great video. I would say one thing however, as an Englishman very passionate about etiquette and our traditions. A tiered cake stand as in the video would not be served in hotels like The Ritz, Fortnum Mason etc, nor would any cake stand be used at home. Afternoon Tea at home, everything would be served on plates. Secondly, the sandwiches would be even smaller. In hotels they're 'finger sized' (oblong shape), but at home, families have them in squares instead. Everything should be dainty. Lastly, 'scone' is pronounced like 'gone', not like 'phone'. The Queen is partly responsible for this, and because of the saying, 'Once *it'scone... it's gone*'
@@MorenitaBonita19 If that's supposed to be sarcasm or some snide comment then it seems unjust. From one enthusiast to another, I was being constructive. But yes, I will be making such a video and similar myself in the very near future.
When would you use a tiered cake stand in your opinion? I wanna get one just bc they’re so beautiful but I wouldn’t know when to use it 😄 Also that’s interesting, I’ve always just heard people pronounce it’s scone like “phone”, I had no idea
Nature friendly tip: cut your breads beforehand and heat the edges after cutting them into small cupes. Keep them in the oven for some time and serve with soup. My personal favorite: tomato soup + this + a little bit of unsalted melted cheese
I can’t wait to try! I went to my first tea with a friend for my birthday. Everything is explained so well. Thank you 😊 and the way you say mayonnaise is adorable.
Beautiful jamilah. Your dresses are simple and chic. Can you learn me how to dress so elegantly like you and from where to get these beautiful dresses.
Hi Jamila and thank you so much for your channel. I love watching your videos. I enjoy your personality! 😊 I've noticed that you take the slices of the prepared food with a fork (thank you, really!). Unlike you, I've witnessed how it is common for a lot of people to taste food during its preparation. For example, a person (an imaginary Joe) is doing a salad. Joe puts the needed ingredients and mixes them up with a spoon. Then Joe thinks he wants to taste his salad. He takes a bite with the spoon he has just mixed the salad up with and says "oh, it's not salty". Joe puts some salt into the salad and.... mixes it with the same spoon he's just tasted the salad with... Unfortunately, even some of my friends do that which I don't like at all. I can't eat the food I'm served after I witness a similar cooking behavior (perhaps that's their plan, who knows 😁 ). FYI: It's not necessarily that I come to someone's house and tell the rules. There have been plenty of such situations during, let's say, picnics. Could you be so kind to please share the knowledge on how to politely tell people not to do this?
Thank you very much. I will take a note on that. What I would do for tasting- is put a little bit on a separate plate with utensils and taste from there.
Five o ‘clock tea is my favorite way to entertain I use my limoges tea set and bake scones! I buy the bread with no crust for my finger sandwiches:) God save the Queen 🇬🇧
I live in South Africa and we don't have an afternoon tea culture however I would really love to incorporate this beautiful tradition into my personal just to make me feel fancy. Infact I really want to gift myself a full tea set for my upcoming birthday. Thank you so much for sharing all you knowledge and wisdom. Kisses 😘

Another gem of a video Jamila. I have a humble request for a video. English is not my first language and I have lived in many many places around the world and never picked up an accent from anywhere. When I speak, I struggle to get the right pronunciation or due to my nervousness, I speak too fast sometimes just to get things over with. I love the way you speak; the pace and style both. It is very neutral. Can you please make a video on how to practice/tips speaking English in a neutral manner?
Thank you for the video. I love afternoon tea, and I appreciate your ideas. It will be a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, even with just my mom and daughter. One thing I miss about cruising is afternoon tea, and the tiered rack will help me recreate the experience. 💕😘🍰🍵
We didn't drink tea very much growing up in my house, so I had no idea that you could actually just dump loose tea leaves into the teapot (the strainer in this context makes so much more sense now) nor how many teaspoons you were supposed to add. Thanks so much for these tips!!
