I once dated a young woman from Tehran, and she would serve a cheese and fruit platter with tea whenever she had guests over. It was very elegant and it's something I've never forgotten. She had gone to finishing school in Switzerland and I've never known anyone with better etiquette.
I was recently at an Italian restaurant trying to practice my etiquette skills and I was ok pasta fork, fork with spoon? Had to do fork I couldn’t twirl it right lol
The amount of people who are refined and polite in other ways that dont know how to eat off a cheese board is large and so this is a great learning video in improving us all
Thank you for providing this wonderful information. As someone who wants to network and put themselves out there more, learning the proper etiquette of eating and sharing things like cheese boards has actually really helped with my social anxiety! I guess it’s the fact that I know what to do even if I’m surrounded by strangers.
How about just eat the cheese with whatever you like. I understand the purpose of these guidlines, but the bourgeoisie standards were good for middle ages. 🤣
Hi Jamila! In Italy we use a lot the heart-shaped knife mainly for parmesan cheese but in another way. We insert the point of the knife in the area we want to cut and as we go down, we slightly twist it in order to let the cheese "crack" and break in its natural shape. Mine is not a critic, it's just an FYI. By the way, I want to let you know I really love your channel and you as a person...🫶🏻✨ Cheers for Italy 🇮🇹
wish you could upload every week! I am literally obsessed with your videos and content. it is wonderful to have the opportunity of knowing a lady like you. thank you for sharing your knowledge with us
I'm so happy you mentioned people with allergies. 9/10 times when there's a charcuterie board, there are nuts and I can't eat anything on it out of fear of cross-contamination. None of us wish that we had allergies, trust us!
I am a catering server and our charcuterie boards are usually about 4 feet long, by about one foot wide, and jam packed with things. Cheeses (cream and hard) various jellies, pates, the fruits and nuts, and sliced meats. They are packed solid with no open spaces and usually meant to do about 30 people. It always looks an utter disaster by the time it is half finished. I don't mind a charcuterie board but think it ought to be kept to max 4 people, or even better, served on separate platters for the cheeses, meats and so on for a larger group.
Thank you for this amazing video! I've learned so much! I recently have been to a gather where we were served cheese, and now I know that we ALL were eating it the wrong way, not properly enjoying it. Next time I'll enjoy the right way and also make a really pretty cheese board!
Thank you for making this video, I've always wanted to learn how to compose a generous cheese platter like I've seen at a wine and cheese event I went to a few years ago. The selection was amazing and they set it up on the marble kitchen island, on different boards and elevated wooden cake stands. It was stunning! Yours is like a mini version of that which is perfect for a family dinner. I would also add some local fruit spreads like fig, cranberry, apricot, even apple chutney is fantastic with cheddar. Can't wait to host a dinner party to make a beautiful cheese platter!
I really appreciated this video, I enjoy being cultured as I get older. Sometimes we forget or learn something new. This is the" level up" information that we need. Can you make video on tea.... my granny used to have a lovely tea set.
Love your videos! I have several food sensitivities and do not drink alcohol. Often at networking events, allergies and food sensitivities are not considered. Sharing etiquette for navigating events and especially when interacting with cultural situations where refusing food or drink is considered rude would be appreciated.
What a wonderful video, I enjoy cheese quite a lot but I didn’t know certain things. In Italy it works just like in France, my favourite moment is right before the dessert, with some jams or honey. 🧀 💕
You may bring a fork to your lips and dispose of pit on the fork, then empty onto your plate. If no fork, discretely dispose of in napkin and lower napkin to your plate to dispose of.
That's a very helpful video, thank you. But I was wondering how do we eat the fruit, nuts, and other things accompanying the cheese ? Do we transfer them to our plates and then eat them or do we eat directly from the board ? Also do we eat them with our fingers ? And how to elegantly remove the grape seeds when we're eating it?
Thank you so much. Now I know why we should eat from mild to stronger cheese. I hate it when my taste buds got numbed because the previous dishes I ate
Thank you so much to share us this video. I really enjoy It very much. I am abble to learn every etiquette rules or everything tou want to share in your channel. You are an inspiring woman. Stay blessed! Kisses from Barcelona 🖤
Wonderful! You are so inspiring, I'm so glad I found you on youtube I've learned so much from you. Please keep going to do what you are passionate about.
Thank you for the Vlog. You have answered a lot of question on how to serve cheese. I like the way you arranged the charcuterie board. Now I know the proper way to service cheese. 😇🌼Pamela
Hi Jamila. Thank you for sharing. All videos are informative. Could you please make videos on eating etiquette for different kids of food. Thanks again.
Such an informational video. I wish there was a background music like in your dining etiquette video - just a suggestion. Thank you for the high quality content Jamila!
Thank you so very much learning of cheese etiquette is so delightful and enjoyable I am gaining a lot about cutting as well as serving cheese on a cheese board once again thanks this video is much appreciated!
Wonderful video. I wear disposable gloves to prepare food for guests and friends. I realize this would be difficult if a person is not accustomed to wearing gloves, but I never want a finger print on food. Certainly, washing hands and scrubbing with a nail brush is sufficient.
Hello miss Jamila Musayeva, my name is Huriyah Aly. I hope all is well and I appreciate the videos you give as they delight me and display how modest a role model may be. I would like to offer an idea on a publishing of wedding etiquette as I am filled with curiosity on how this etiquette may be carried out in a proper leading. Thank you and have well carried days. With gratitude, Huriyah Aly.
Dear Jamila, I love your Videos, they help me a lot. I have an event coming up and I wanted to ask if you could make a video about wine etiquette. I feel this is something important about dining, too. Thank you so mich for every single lesson you teach us.
I just subscribed. Really enjoyed this video, I learned a lot especially how to use the utensils. I wasn’t brought up being taught etiquette. But, I have tried to do my research and reading on different occasions. This one was new to me. Thank you so much for sharing.😊
Thank you Jamila, always informative!! Damn this video is so helpful... I didnt know all those details to be followed... Thank you for sharing this one.and i also wants to mention about bamcheeboard at store to view variety on cheese boards
Hi Jamila, thank you for this video! Now I am craving cheese 🤣 I was wondering if you have any videos on how you learnt so many languages or any tips for us trying to/or any reliable resources? Having an azari background I am planning to learn Azerbaijani first
❤ thank you very much Janina for this wonderful information. I cannot eat dairy, so how do we tell our hostess that we are not turning our noses up at her offering?
Thank you so much for this somewhat obscure, yet very important information about "Cheese Board Etiquette." Now that you've presented it, it makes perfect sense. I live in a country club community, and we often have events that feature beautiful cheese boards. While I shudder to think that I may have (gasp) cut the point off a piece of cheese in the past, now I know better! One question - when compiling your cheese board, you placed rather large-looking wedges of cheese on top of each other. How would one politely maneuver that large wedge into a position to cut a smaller piece? Do you make a space on the board? Thanks again for all your beautifully crafted lessons. I really enjoy all of your videos!
Your videos are really amazing .I am happy to subscribe your channel because I have learnt so much from your videos.I had a request for a video on hair etiquette.
Thank you so so so much Jamila for sharing this video and I will definitely try this and it's looks so so yummy and tasty you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 800K Subscribers very very soon!💫💓😃
I'm making a cheese board in a few days for myself & one other person. I only picked up 2 types of cheese. I feel like I either will break the "odd numbers" rule or the "not more cheese than people" rule. Getting one cheese would also break the "multiple kinds" rule. How do I set it up for 2 people?
17:14 If there is less number of pieces of cheese on the cheeseboard than the number of people, is it appropriate for me to cut the cheese on the cheeseboard or do I always transfer the piece to my plate before cutting it?

Is there a chance to show us, how to properly eat different types of pasta, especially the messier ones, such as spaghetti? Thanks!
Yes...this is very much needed along with tacos & burgers
Great suggestion!
@@JamilaMusayeva could you also do one for color etiquette and how to act during a funeral
I agree with that question! Nice one!💙🍝💙💙

How do u find the courage to put your self out there with anxiety?
(Don't mean to be rude I am just curious because I have social anxiety too)

Thank you 🙏🏻
We serve with small bowls with fruit marmalade, usually orange, plum or fig - incredible flavour combo with cheese
Finally! Class and elegance! Thank you!
Hello Jamila, what do we do with olive pits? What is the proper way to remove the pit from the mouth and is it ok to leave it on our plate.
I also wondered about that ?
You may bring a fork to your lips and dispose of pit on the fork, then empty onto your plate. If no fork, discretely dispose of in napkin and lower napkin to your plate to dispose of.
Hi Jamila, please do consider incorporating sandwich ettiquetes especially with large sized sandwiches.
Noted ☺️
