FDNY Rescue 3 and RAC 3 respond 10-75 with real Q

- Just moments after watching FDNY Engine 46 and Ladder 27 go on a run for a multiple dwellings call at 230 Echo Place, I decided to walk a couple of blocks down Washington Avenue to 173rd Street, where we see Rescue 3 as they get toned out to go on the same run, which at this point has been upgraded to an All Hands 10-75. The call itself was for fire in the basement of a residential building with multiple dwellings. First out the door is Rescue 3. Rescue 3 is a 2011 Ferrara. Enjoy the immense amount of Q as they go on their run. Once Rescue 3 leaves, we see an ambulance hustling down Washington Avenue. I believe this ambulance was in fact responding to the same call, but I could be wrong. After about a minute, we see RAC 3 depart for the call. RAC 3 is Rehab and Comfort. They carry a variety of replenishing fluids, such as water and Gatorade, to supplement the cooler tanks carried by companies and provide a place for firefighters to take a breather during an operation, and are staffed by a single light-duty firefighter. Behind the RAC is the Collapse Rescue Unit, which was not needed for this call. As a side note, by the time the responding companies arrived at the scene, the fire had been knocked down by the fire suppression system of the building (sprinklers), but a couple of lines were stretched nonetheless. Enjoy the sight of the rigs responding, as well as the Federal Q. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on September 24th, 2013.

The federal Q on an FDNY truck, it just feels so right
hose dragger your damn right!
Super nice new house
Nice catch
Here where I live we use the hell out of it and love it am always the first one to hear it. Love hearing the Q.
Jordan Goldstein ...I hear you on that one...the Q is my favorite one also...it just feels so right on any fire engine...whether its an engine, pumper, heavy rescue,tower,ladder,etc...just feels right on any type of fire truck..
Yeah BLAST THAT Q!!! Nice coast on that Q as well!!! ALL FDNY apparatus should respond just like that!!!!
Great q. This driver or officer now how to use it. Its horrible to see rigs running electronic when you have that beast on the front
John James @
That's the nicest FDNY station I've seen 😂😂😂
Possibly the nicest building in the Bronx... now...
Damn FDNY with a real Siren!
The engine sounds awesome in the rescue
And I have to admit, the mechanical Q fits the FDNY rigs so good
great video..thank you for all the clear discriptions on your posts, keep it up!
also never seen the fdny use a q before..cool!
Nothing like a real q
I agree. Sorry, but I just hate the EQ2B. Especially when used as a primary siren.
Exactly just use the q
Love that light bar on RAC 3! Idk how this has been on UA-cam since 2013 and I'm just now seeing it lol
every fire truck needs a real Q :3
Agreed
I like the real Q siren better than the electric one
Looks like a brand new firehouse
Holy horn batman!!!!! That fucker is loud
LOL like how that NYPD unit kinda got in the way of R3
Great catch!! :D
Amazing catch! :)
Don't forget the ambulance.
Every fire truck should have train horns and real q
q siren....... all they need is a powercall now!
It's a telescopic green flashing beacon. Green is used to signify command.
Yes I agree on that
They should all have Q's! Who idea was it to go with the fake shit??
they banned them because people complained they were too loud.
Then they wonder why the have accidents! Cant people out up with anything??? All fire trucks should be required to have real Q sirens
2nd Lt. Cohiba Fox I hate seagraves now.
that Q and air horn, now that's the sound of a true fire truck
when did R3 get a new house???
I think 2012, 2011 or 2013 I don’t remember
@RenegadeChauffeur yes I believe it did , A while back
YESSSS!!!!!
lol! zero fucks given goin down the one way awsome
i like the real q
What do the R.A.C units do?
How come only a few of the rigs use the mechanical q siren, down in Texas all of our trucks use them.
NYC banned the use of real Qs on their rigs because of noise pollution or some crap
Is R-3 in an new firehouse? Last time I was in NYC and visited them I could swear they were in an older house...
Wish they would put Q's back on all the rigs in k
For me, a real Q siren much better emphasizes the urgency of the fire truck's situation. Its iconic screaming and wailing sound truly says that someone's in trouble and needs help. The electronic Q sounds rather wimpy to me and doesn't have the "get the heck outta my way" sound. However, pulling over is critical regardless.
what is that kind of green plastic on the left side, above the RAC3?
The real Q, oh yea
GREAT VIDEO HERE TOO MY FRIEND! ;o)
what was wrong with the old station?
Dalton Partlow IDK ABOUT THAT DALTON! SORRY! ;o)
Do you have an idea how long Rescue 3 has been in this new station? This station is location on Washington Ave. @ E173RD St. in New York City. Nice catch. thank you for sharing.
bronx,new york*
What does RAC mean and what is it for
Recuperation And Care. It's used as a relief station for firefighters who have been working at a fire for a long time. It's got benches in it, Gatorade coolers for refreshment, and air conditioning/heat.
Wait, did Rescue 3 go the wrong way down the street?
Are the RAC manned at all times or are they crossed manned
The RAC only goes out on major runs like a big rescue or a 2nd alarm or higher. It's usually manned by someone on light duty, so as not to pull someone off the main rescue rig.
+FL92002 thanks cool to know
I don't get it, I know Q's are outlawed in the City, but what's next gonna outlaw the airhorns, cause airhorns are much louder and echo off the buildings more than the EQ2B in my opinion.
Most fdny trucks use an electric sirens but this one doesn't have a electric siren
.
Thank the Jews for the Q ban
I wonder how do people get to sleep in New York...
They dont it the city that never sleeps
All rescues have real q sirens
Jayden 1 scott Well, I don’t know about the Rescue 5.
That's a bad ass station with bad ass trucks is it meant to be used just for special trucks
What do you mean by "meant to be used just for special trucks?" That's just where the Rescue and the RAC happen to be stationed.
Just found someone who stole your video (among videos of others). You might want to report him. Link in another comments, check the spam folder for it
I thought those Q sirens were outlawed in NYC.
This station isn't in the city part of NY. It's in the suburb. The Q2B siren isn't to be used in the metro area due to it echoing and sound wave bouncing off buildings.
But they can use the Q if they pay for it & remove it before the truck gets fixed
***** this station is located in the bronx which is part of the five boroughs and yes they still use the Q even on the new trucks
Yeah thank the Jews for that
What's a 10-75? I've already searched but I didn't understand
FEUERWEHR CASERTA structure fire perhaps
CSXGUY677-Trains, Fire Trucks and More, thanks
CSXGUY677-Trains, Fire Trucks and More all hands
All Hands
David James thanks
What do you mean by a real Q?
Not an electronic one
What R.A.C. mean??????????
Recuperation and Care. In other words, a rehab unit.
So did Ferarra just decide to throw Q2B's on all the Rescues? It seems like all the Rescue Companies have them, and they're some of the very few who do.
AJ Cable the companies do it themselves
or about FDNY's unit SSL
There is no such thing as fake and real q siren
Yes there is, a fake Q siren is a EQ2B, and a real Q siren is a regular Q2B
