"Like 99% of the people who have played it, I love Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but sadly, it is also a very easy game. (Especially compared to other games in the series) So, in an attempt to make life more difficult for Alucard, I decided to beat the game the two Crissaegrims. Needless to say, this didn't really work out.
Played in Luck Mode, hence the 99 Luck. No Doppleganger40 because Crissaegrim doesn't work as well against him as other bosses, thanks to his temporary invincibility when hit."

In modern games this kind of thing would be nerfed with patches post release.

I busted my ass getting one. I practically ripped my eyes out of my sockets alucarting for an hour and a half for the second one. I return after leveling up twice and get 5 without alucarting or even trying. FML.
You must increase your luck to higher,if you really want to get the crissaegrim
I have got a drop after only a few Shmoo kills only to be bumped off screen by scarecrow or tin-man or some bullshit-ass enemy. Missed it by that much! Anyway, it took an hour to get another drop.
As for myself, I grinded by killing Shmoos next to the screen and kept exiting-entering. I got carried away and went out when one Shmoo finally dropped the sword. Took me the rest of the noon to get another one !!
I got kicked out of the room by scarecrows twice, didnt react on time 3 times and left the room when there was a drop and finally at the 6th drop i got it

After that, all you need to do is make sure you get to the nearby savepoint to enable use of your menu again (which will be inaccessible until you either visit the savepoint or go into the next area, to my knowledge). Just make sure you don't fall down into the area where Death is, as that will glitch you into a neverending loop (I assume its because the game expects Alucard to be at a certain place which he is not at, but thats just my guess). With that done, enjoy being OP in the first half.
Crissaegrim, the best way to turn kids difficulty on, but dont get me wrong, it looks damn good and you feel so good XD
Equip 2 rings of varda to see those numbers spike.

Someone has a Criassegrim with another color too?
I have a Criassegrim with orange attack and when I use Double Criassegrim the color Mix and become a purple with orange attack.
It took me a while to find this sword.
I wish there was some kind of mod for this game that would increase the difficulty alot, but not negate all the fun broken weapons like the crissaegrim. Specifically, I want a mod that makes enemies faster and more aggressive, and makes them deal more damage. If anyone knows of such a mod, please do tell.
after 7 years..... try luck mode! nowdays its the only challenge mode i can play on...

yeah I know what you try to say, this game is epic and awesome and a bit hard in the start, but once you get leveled, and get a sword like the crisaegrim, familiars, or any too epic item like the ring of varda it gets too easy, the only way I know to suffer a little bit more is by playing with richter, without doing cheap things to beat bosses, just improvising and playing my style, is the only way I know from the moment I hope my advice could help you...
Most broke weapon in game history.
you can increase the strength of each strike to 122 using certain items, wich makes it an attack power of 244, no real need of 2 crisaegrim, better use the life shield, and the armor wich increases defense with each new zone discovered, it easily becomes the best armor on the game.
who needs armor when your not getting hit?

Actually, you need to start a luck mode file, which can only be done after getting a cleared savefile (meaning you have to defeat Dracula in the Inverted Castle), then you need to get behind the second big wolf enemy in the start, unequip all of your defense-granting items (this means you can keep the Alucard Sword equipped) and make sure you're at full health (since otherwise you'll die). With all that done, you just need to have the wolf lunge at you. It seems to help being airborne.

How did you get this before the Inverse castle....It's only dropped by an enemy after you invert.

no mate, this thing even just one of them is unbelievable, it hits 4 times for 1 attack. put 2 on with 2 ring of varda and the game is broken. nothing can stand in your way :)

if i remember right..u start a game and u enter the name Allucard...in order to keep your items...that was for PS1
