I love the background music they play in every episode when Jamie’s slowing down or getting confused. I now hear that “dooododoo” and automatically look around for what’s getting messed up.
I have to say that this is by far my favorite battle because there is no clear winner in my mind. Each recipe was so well thought out and executed, and both Jamie and Mike used their knowledge and skills to create unique dishes outside of what they usually create! I thought both ideas were fun and I'm betting flavorful! I am definitely going to try them both out on my family. Well done to both of you and I can't wait to see more battles like this!

Love these videos. I watch a SortedFood video every day on my lunch break. 3 days a week I get a new video, the other 2 days I watch an older video. These videos have helped me through the year and I’m always excited for the next one!

Instead I have to 'authorize a transaction' on my credit card. What bs.
Y'know, gotta say, absolutely love how Mike tends to go for the "cheats" style of cooking. Really time efficient ways of getting at what you're looking for. It's a skill that's really useful for spicing up your midweek cooking. As a guy who does a lot of cooking for the household on the daily, these sorts of things are absolute lifesavers when you've got to get something on the table and ready before rushing off to do something else. Even if he doesn't get a ton of wins at it, rather like seeing how he goes for ways of doing things that help him get more done in less time, like using the microwave and pressure cooker in the 20 minute battle to get tender ribs and baked potatoes, cheats methods to get ice cream for the mochi ice cream in the Japanese battle nearly two years ago. It's great to see how to cut corners, and love how he goes for ambitious meals within these time limits, by using the proper tricks to save loads of time over the traditional ways of doing things. Love seeing how each of the lads have their own style and how they're good to learn from.
Having made arancini for a local Italian restaurant before, the second I saw Jamie was doing arancini in 45 minutes I laughed and thought “this can not go well” around 9:50 I’m not at all disappointed

Yes! 90% of the time Mike's dish is the one I want to eat most, followed by Barry and then Jamie in very last place. To be fair I'm not a big fan of bacon or cheese, I could live without steak, and I can't handle spice so the majority of food he makes just isn't to my taste. It does feel disappointing that Jamie consistently wins with what feels like variations of steak, bacon, cheese and chilli, with some other ingredients thrown in. I'm honestly surprised when his dish doesn't have those elements in it. I'm sure it tastes delicious, but it would be nice to see a dish of a different kind win these battles more often. Mike and Barry both mix it up often with different ingredients, and from different cultures - often ones a lot of people might not have heard of eg Barry's malapua pancakes in the pancake battle. It's a shame Jamie is so often rewarded for staying in his comfort zone, whilst the other two experiment, and seem to push themselves more and still lose. Also, this is in no way a criticism of Jamie - he seems lovely on screen, I'm sure the food tastes great, and he's found what works for him so I don't blame him at all. I'd probably do the same in his position! But it would be nice to see someone else win sometimes

I worked with a chef who trained at the Intercontinental Park Lane and he was obsessed with beetroot. He had us using it 3 ways in risottos, adding something a bit extra to dauphinoise, dehydrating it for powders, using it in coconut curries, making it into foams, as a "blood" in vegetarian dishes and in deserts as a dye or as a flavouring. Guy was a genius. Up until that point (coming from the scheme) pickled was my only experience with the stuff.

I checked UA-cam 3 times this evening for my Wednesday "dose" of Sorted and didn't see it on the main feed. I thought the world was going to end with my Wednesday routine gone 😂 Apparently I was just too lazy to manually check the uploads 😅 (all my notifications are off so I can hopefully get some work done everyday)

I worked with a chef who trained at the Intercontinental Park Lane and he was obsessed with beetroot. He had us using it 3 ways in risottos, adding something a bit extra to dauphinoise, dehydrating it for powders, using it in coconut curries, making it into foams, as a "blood" in vegetarian dishes and in deserts as a dye or as a flavouring. Guy was a genius. Up until that point (coming from the scheme) pickled was my only experience with the stuff.
