How are you talking perfectly. I had a Hybridge implant I have a bad lisp on top and have a little bit of a pallet up top. I and got the top end of implants
There is a difference between dental implants with dentures and dental implants with zirconia crowns.... Zirconia crowns doesn't have any kind of denture... So they are comfortable to wear.
It should be affordable for everyone to save their natural teeth. If that is not possible like in my case. Dentures that everyone can afford. We need teeth to eat and you low self esteem. With bad teeth or no teeth at all. Right now my husband has no teeth.
It’s about $, I know the industry and know how much everything costs. The dentures she’s talking about costs a few hundred to make. The work to put your posts in is only labor.
You lower the prices by lowering the costs to produce them relative to the assets needed to produce them, therefore allowing them to expand to meet demand rapidly enough to lower prices. If asset prices and capital expenditure therefore falls, this increases the rate of return/ real profits even with charging less for the product and allows for efficient expansion of business to keep costs down.
@woutervanlent5181 It is a lot to process. I finally went to the dentist to start the process. Of getting dentures. When the dentist starts talking tooth loss. It is overwhelming feeling. It does make you sad too. They think they can save few of them. Do some partials for now. But it is only matter of time where I will need dentures. My husband has been without the majority of his teeth for 23 years. He wouldn't wear the partial he was given. Just recently the rest were pulled. But he has a lot of gum shrinkage and bone loss. His top denture will be all. That he will be able to wear. I feel so terrible for him.
Just a beautiful lovely woman. I am 55. And i am getting my dentures in 7 months. Exposed is good. We need a world with brutally honest people in this world.
I have dental implants, ceramic, for about a year now (molars left and right sight). First few weeks it feels weird, like there is something in your mouth that doesn't belong to you. But obviously the positive side overweights the negative. I would chew my favorite foods again, enjoy eating without pain. After a few weeks it becomes natural and you don't pay attention to it anymore, it feels like my own teeth now and I could barely make the difference. That's my experience.
Not sure how or why this popped up on my feed as I haven't searched for this but I will say this. I am going on my 3rd month of healing after a full mouth replacement with implants. You hit every single point that I find myself going through. I was in a bad place as well and it's funny how much we can get "used to" that we shouldn't. Best part about getting full implants? Being able to smile and not hide!! Keep it going!
@@Zehratul It will vary depending on how you do it and how your insurance is. For me, it was 100% out of pocket. Some may say it is a lot, but they didn't have to live through what I did. The price was well worth the results. YMMV
Getting ready to have this done soon. I'm in the pricing and estimate phase right now. Looking forward to it because I have been without teeth for quite a long time. It's surprising that you can get used to something like that.
@@carlmontney7916 I just finished with the healing and am now all done. Just having the ability to eat food I had to pass on for decades is a game changer. Look to the future and the results you know you'll have and you'll make it through this with no problems. Good luck!!
I had to go the other route because of income. I had to choose to be toothless and proud. Dentures were a horrible experience. Since, so far they don't want to find a cure, or make things affordable, I hope that society can learn to not look down on the toothless and tooth damaged.
Thank you for making this video. I am going from full upper and lower dentures to all on 4 and have been looking for “real” experiences. Like you I have had medical issues all my life that caused me to lose my real teeth. I know it takes a lot of personal strength to put yourself to the world like this. And I just wanted to say thank you for doing so.
I have just one, one of my big teeth...been 2 years with no problem ,it feels and performs like a real tooth and i never even think about it. As far as the procedure, the worst pain is the numbing shots before hand..when you're all numbed up you feel no pain just some pressure that's very tolerable. They give plenty of pain med for the following days but i didn't need much of it. Good luck!
Hey I got my all on 4 surgery 4 days ago I did both upper n lower. I went to Nuvia and they gave me permanent zirconia teeth in 24 hrs. Total about 42k I did 10K down and with a co-signer like 450 a month. I’m dealing with a lot of swellling and some pain. I think this is the best investment in the whole world I’m 29 and my teeth were crumbling by the day. I just hope they start feeling normal cause it’s a weird feeling with these new teeth. I feel like I’m wearing a Halloween teeth lol. But yeah I’m so excited to be healed and feel pretty ❤
@Nicole Newman I had my implants done in March all together was 5 posts in the bottom and 6 on top. Instead of getting a temp implant during my healing period I opted to modify my existing dentures to make space for the implanted posts. I would not recommend that. It was an awful 6ish weeks of healing. Was literally only soft food and soup. Now that I am healed and the final products installed it is insane how real they feel when eating. I am in my mid 40s and have not had this level of bite power since my teens. The best i can say is trust the system. Follow the instructions. Make sure you are following self care etc. And the healing will fly by in no time
Your going to do like every one else with Dentures? Let them set on the bathroom sink. That why i want get any. I would do like every one else >put them in my pocket? or leave them setting around the sink 😁😁🤣🤣 WHY HAVE THEM? I'am not a bit ashamed of being toothless. Besides i can make people LAUGH > 1 day they will be in my shoes! I'am pain free! No MORE DENTIST IN MY MOUTH NOR IN MY POCKET BOOK
@@martyguy8185 Yep...I get that and well it's not for everyone. My point is that speaking about oral care and the effects it has on a person regarding their health as well as confidences the prices that are beyond what people can pay etc.....is ignored. The world acts as if everyone is walking around with Hollywood smiles.
Making dentures that fit well and look good. That are affordable for everyone. Should be the priority. Implants have to be placed surgically. Need to be removed every six months to be cleaned. It is not possible for all of us to have implants. The majority of us will have dentures. So why isn’t there more research. Into dentures that fit better and look better.
I work in a Dental Lab in Vancouver, Canada, which specializes in implant restorations. Very amazing to hear this from a patient's point of view. Thank you for making this video!
@@Tinanbobby There are two schools of thoughts in dentistry. First is trying to preserve your natural teeth as much as we can, that means reducing your enamel and putting crowns on top of it. This will preserve the natural sensations of having your natural teeth. Depending on the quality of the crowns and the workmanship of the dentist, crowns may or may not last forever. When majority of your natural teeth are truly compromised, then implants will be a good option. There are many brands of implants on the market, and their prices vary. Approximately, 80% of your total cost is for the treatment by your dentist or dental surgeon, and the implants, 20% will be the hybrid dentures by the dental lab. A very rough estimate would be $1000usd / implant + $2000usd for the full upper and lower hybrid dentures. Please consult your dentist for the best restoration option for you. Removing all of your teeth is really the last option. Just beware that some dentists will NOT choose a conservative route. Depending on the ethics of the dentist, profitability may affect their opinions. Hope this helps a bit.
I'm a clinical dental technician from the Netherlands. The info Kalinjax is giving is so complete and usefull for technicians. It can perfectly be used to inform patiënts. I'm so thankfull.
Just got my implants in May. It’s an adjustment but I’m loving it. My self-esteem has soared! I’ll be 70 in July and this is my gift to MYSELF! Learning how to floss is thee hardest part. Still have to eat soft food. Your video was fantastic;thank you for sharing. You look fabulous.
I got my implants too as a present for myself for my 50th birthday. I’ve had them now for 4 years. I feel great and I’m smiling all the time. Congratulations to you for treating yourself to the well ness of having teeth again.
I have a single implant as an upper incisor and it began to feel just like a real tooth after a few months. The only time I notice it is when biting on something hard because it's so much more robust than a natural tooth, but it still doesn't feel alien
I see that this is two years old, but I wanted to Thank You for putting this online. Like you mentioned, 'putting yourself out there' is usually not a comfortable feeling and for you to do that is commendable. This information is very useful to people like myself. I am almost certainly headed for work to be done like this and videos like this are rare and do help me a lot. Take care and Happy Holidays.
A lot has changed since this video was made. We are now making zirconium bridges on 4 - 6 implants mounted on multi units and no titanium framework which brought the cost down tremendously. With multi unit it is also less irritating to the gums. With zirconium it is much stronger, teeth dont chip or break and food does not accumulate because it is highly polished.
I neglected my teeth growing up and as a result I feel like I royally messed up my life due to it. During quarantine it didn't really bother me too much because everyone wore masks but when the mask mandate ended, I realized that I couldn't just keep wearing a mask all the time. But for the time being all I could do was wear it knowing full well that I wasn't going to be able to keep that up. I grew incredibly self conscious and have terrible anxiety every time I talk to someone in case they notice my teeth. Since I couldn't keep wearing a mask every time I went out, I decided to shut myself in the house. I stopped talking to my friends since they would frequently ask me to go out with them and I would have to come up with some excuse every time since I was so embarrassed, I haven't been face to face with them in around 2 years. I'm 19 coming up on 20 in a few months and I have never had a job because (again) the anxiety I have from my teeth. I don't have dental insurance and the cost to have implants is way out of my range. Please take care of your teeth everyone, this situation I put myself in has ruined my life and I don't know how to get out of it.
The good news is that you are still very young. I wish I was 19 again. In fact, I wish I was 15 again because that was the time that my dentist told me I needed braces & I declined them due to them being permanent for 2 years. If you've ever seen 1990's braces, you'll know why I declined them, lol. But it's never too late to change your smile. I'm an old man compared to you at 45, and I have hated my teeth all my adult life & am only now doing something about it. You can too and I wish you all the best for the future.
Hi, I’m in the same situation as you but older. My teeth have deteriorated a lot since we went into lockdown and now I don’t want to see anyone other then close family. I really sympathise with you. I have anxiety and have always had a fear of the dentist so I didn’t go regularly. You would think that would have made me look after my teeth but it didn’t. Don’t be too hard on yourself as there are lots of people who haven’t cared for their teeth properly and it won’t help you move forward. We will get through this and hopefully be stronger for it. I wish you the very best and hope that you are able to get help to boost your confidence again. I really mean that. Best wishes. Lx
I didn’t neglect my teeth and they now look horrible. I have had so many bad experiences from dentists, I hate going now. I went to a dentist regularly when I had insurance in the past. They were always fixing something. Ruined my teeth. My siblings rarely go to the dentist and all of their teeth look really good. My brother went to a dentist for 1 tooth and had major complications from that 1 tooth. He said it’s never been the same. But at least all of their teeth look great. I thought I was doing good letting them do all the stuff to my teeth. I should have just never kept going. Regret that decision every single day. Hopefully it will get better for you 🥰
NHI ( NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE) would have been a incredible resource for all Americans in this country but Republicans stopped FDR. Republicans always stop what helps the average American. I'm sorry for your situation but I would pull them out and get dentures. The ADA is a fraud and they over price.
It’s refreshing to see people talk about their personal experiences that no one wants to talk about. Both of my parents lost their teeth in their late 40’s, so I understand how difficult it can be for people to talk about this.
Omg girl you open up my mind about dental implants. Been having problems about my real teeth and thinking about dental implant not knowing how my mouth works with implants. Listening to you on your video make it so crystal clear that implant’s is the only way to solve my problems. You are so great at explaining about your experiences you went through that’s what I’m experiencing now with my teeth. I’ve watched so many videos nothing make sense until I watched your video. Everything you said made so much better for me to know everything about implants thank you thank you your the best❤❤❤
I’m 63 years old and due to grinning my top front teeth are breaking and are in a bad way. What I don’t understand is why I was never told about night guards when I was younger!!!!! You are a beautiful lady and I have lots of respect for you 🙏❤️😘🥰🌹🌹🌹
Your explaining things very well. I ran a dental lab for 32+ years and at the age of 62 ended up with a monolythic Zirconia hybrid. In the end, through discussions with my periodontist and prosthodontist we decided to go with twelve implants. Although it's a long haul I am very pleased with the decisions that we made. Being a dental tech. I was aware of all the procedures I would be facing. And again, you do a great job explaining what to expect. I pretty much went through what you did but also had some procedures beyond you. After the initial things that were done I had several CBCT scans to allow my periodontist to pick and choose the best places and angles for the implants to be placed into the alveolar bone. From there the scans were sent out to have both the mandibular and maxillary guide plates made. At my request we did what is known as guided surgery. I had two sinus lifts done and what is known as mandibular buccal torus osteotomy, oh so much fun lol. I had some bone removed to help the lower hybrid fit better. I could go on and on as you well know but for me the whole procedure from start to finish was a very positive experience. Keep up the good work. It's funny, and I think most techs would tell you the same thing, I find myself always looking at people's teeth but, and please don't be embarrassed, you have absolutely beautiful eyes and that is what I kept focusing on. Thank you for the work you are doing. Have a wonderful 2022.
I had the same - 12 upper, 8 lower, with the result looking similar to Walton Coggins, though absolutely nowhere near as bulky. The actual bridges with ''teeth'' fitted and shaped to the upper and lower gums for a perfect fit. In fact just strong-looking teeth. It wasn't cheap by any means - but a fantastic investment. At the time - 5 Sept 1990 - the procedure was state of the art. And They're still going strong.
My biological dentist put a plan together for myself that consists of 8 upper and 6 lower implants plus some jaw bone regen/calcium implants. Does 8+6 seem like overkill to you at all? I'll be looking at $49,000 once it's all said and done. Also, how did they go about doing the sinus lift ? I may need that as well. Thanks in advance for your time
I'm getting my full set of dentures on the 21st of October. I've spent YEARS with no teeth, so even a regular set of dentures is going to be a huge step for me. People will stop thinking I'm a junkie or a meth addict, and I can't wait! NOT looking forward to having them remove the remaining roots from where they just broke off. And it's sad that us people with bad teeth live with pain EVERY day. Whether from an infection, sore gums, etc. I've have my face swell up SO bad...had infection oozing into my mouth...and just hell in general.
Congratulations to that decision. I am pretty sure you will not regret it. Getting your smile back is a huge thing. Being able to eat without fear? Heavenly! No infections, no pain and no bad breath anymore? Imagine that! But don't worry too much about the extraction. I am extremely sensitive to pain, had several extractions including two root extractions and didn't feel a bit. Lidocaine is reliable stuff and numbs you up for way longer than necessary.
I'm am so not the norm. Growing up I always had excruciating tooth pain after visiting the dentist from my early teens to early 20s. I had 22 root canals before I was 24 years old. Once I had my wisdom teeth pulled alot of the pain stopped. It was suggested that I probably shouldn't of had most of those root canals. They weren't necessary. But when my teeth started fracturing and breaking I had no pain, so now I'm reluctant to go to the dentist . I guess if I had pain it wouldn't make a difference but since I don't I just can't bring myself to open up that can of worms again.
Thank you so much for sharing this bc I’ve been putting off my appointment to get things rolling bc I’m so embarrassed to show the dentist how bad my teeth are. I feel like I will be judged. Plus I’ve been scared I won’t like the feel and wasted all that money. I’m 39 and thought people my age don’t need dentures and I over think and worry. I never leave my house bc I’m so embarrassed of my smile and showing my teeth when I talk. So I’ve been dealing with extreme depression bc I don’t leave my house. I wish I can just turn off a switch and get over it and be grateful I can afford to get this luxury done
I put mine off due to fear and shame. I finally interviewed a couple of dentist at 50. I picked one who did sleepy time and mustered up the courage and did it. BEST decision ever. After healing up I can eat what I want and have a better smile than God gave me. I hope you can have this too as mouth pain is the worst. I had all my teeth pulled and implants done in 2 days. I dont remember it due to sleepy time drugs. Soar for few days had to eat mushy shit for awhile. Knowing what i know now Id do it again. im 57 now so 7 yrs all good.
I’m not sure if this comment is going to a person who sent in a comment or to the presenter that made this video. however I can say ditto to what Lori has written except I’m older but I feel the exact same way I’m embarrassed I’ve been to several dentist already and I haven’t found the one I feel comfortable with yet. I just recently Spoke with a Dentist associate of a reputable dentist in Seattle Washington near where I reside he’s pretty well known and has a new procedure that doesn’t use titanium for the implant, this is pretty rare ,however I am not positive but I think I’m looking at more than 45 or 50,000 may be up to 100,000. Here I thought I was looking at 40,000 and that seems to be a lot of money but I want the best person for the job in the best product for my money anybody have any suggestions on how do you find the right Dentist for the job? This Dentist has done an infomercial on television he uses Stem cell so the healing is quicker and you can have the implant put in the day you have your teeth pulled out. That is not your final set you wait a while until you heal and then get your final set. this sounds so much better than waiting six months having the implant put in and waiting another five or six months for your final fit I had my hopes up that I’m not sure how much I want to spend over 40,000. I always seem I am not ready to commit ! Also I’m so glad I found you a real patient it’s usually the dentist and when I saw you I thought there is no way you had dentures and that’s what I want mine to be like.Thank you for the inspiration ,I so need to do this.
I too at 41 have struggled with my smile. I found myself a private dentist because nhs dentists don't do the full work needed. £800 for the job lot paid over 6 month. I always looked after my teeth until much trauma, nothing to be embarrassed about x
You are very brave for getting on here and sharing this. I too have grown up with bad teeth. My 2 front teeth were crooked and broken all through school. At 24 I finally decided to get help and go to the dentist. I have veneers in the front now and a mouth full of crowns and fillings. You are very beautiful and amazing for encouraging others. Thank you!
How was your restoration process my back teeth are really bad I hope I can get crowns or something it's been driving me crazy and hurting my self esteem
Very nice of you to open up like this and share with others who have questions and concerns about this. Good for you and I am sure you have helped a lot of people.
36 hours from now I will be getting my implants! 😬 girl you have calmed my nerves and gave me the testicles to even go to begin with! I’m sure I will blow up you IG account with every little thing after the fact! Lol I am terrified to go under but so ready to be able to eat again! Y’all pray for my nerves! Thank you for being the voice of reason for me! 💙 I don’t think I would have ever gone if not for your videos.
Yes! Went good I guess. Had all my teeth extracted and the implants put in. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t sleep most of the day. Still very swollen. I can see my cheeks they are so puffy. 🤣 I am definitely a gopher chipmunk right now!
@@MarxMuru I was completely out for all of it. I have a very severe dental anxiety and there is absolutely zero chance I would have done it awake. I do know they said plan on 5-6 hours. I went in at 8 ish, was out by 8:30, and they called my husband at 11:15 and said I was done. I had all of my teeth still, minus my wisdoms. So they removed them all, did something with my lower jaw due to another issue (so most wouldn’t need that), and placed all the implants in that short amount of time. I had a previous dentist put braces on and do a few laser surgeries to save my teeth (at about $15k total) for nothing! So I am convinced the only reason my teeth were in was due to the braces. I am pretty sure the extraction part took no time at all. I go Wednesday to get the stitches out. I will have to stay awake for that. They will have to remove the temps for that. I will let ya know how “bad” that is. Just know even for a routine cleaning, I will pay for sedation. I hate even going into an office. So if I say it’s horrible, it’s probably not that bad. Lol the post op was no wear near as bad as I expected.
Hi Kalinjax! I just had my All On 4 done yesterday. I have some swelling of course but otherwise I can talk and I have severe aches but no pain. This is one of the best decisions I’ve made. You don’t realize how much of you health depends on a healthy smile. There are over 120 diseases that are linked to the mouth and your overall body. I know it’s an investment but would you like to buy luxury car or treat yourself to vacation trips or do you want to think you’re worth investing in your health. It’s definitely the best money I’ve spent!
I hate to say this but for many of us who aren't doing this we aren't choosing between a luxury car (never been able to afford a vehicle I have walked myself to school, college and work my whole life) and our teeth or a vacation (never been on one unless you count a 5 day camping trip in 1st grade an hour or two from our home) and our teeth. Personally I'm choosing between having heat during the winter or teeth. Food or teeth. The ability to see or teeth (I can only afford at best $11 glasses from Zenni mind you) I don't have internet in my home. I only have a phone because my friend added me to his family plan to help me stay in contact with family and employers. I consider it a huge luxury to have even though you literally can not gain employment without it. I think many of us are not in a position to even dream of a nice car unfortunately. I'm extremely happy that you were able to get this done though and I hope you can treat yourself to a vacation next year to show your new smile off! 😀 I hope it becomes more accessible one day though. Honestly I hope dental care becomes more accessible as a whole. I've heard that you can go to Thailand and stay for months getting your teeth worked on and doing touristy stuff and still not end up paying the cost of an American sized dentistry bill 😩😂💸💸
@@franquil85conn haven't ever gone on a vacation is not the same as haven't left my house stop strawmanning. The only reason I could afford college is that I was in the foster system for a year and you get the maximum in financial aid if you go to college after a foster placement. instead of my time as a student being the poorest time of my life it was one of the richest so far. Mind you I probably wouldve pulled myself out of a lifelong struggle with homelessness and poverty had the pandemic not started. I actually did get a good job for a very short while making $18 an hour starting before everything shut down. But then I had to leave the state and ended up in a friend's storm shelter for a year. You are extremely privileged to not realize how difficult it is to grow up without stable access to power, water, food and shelter and then pull yourself up to the point where VACATIONS and LUXURY VEHICLES are realistic. I'm not going to apologize for saying that most of us aren't picking cruises and corvettes over a pain free existence where we can fucking chew. Get over yourself. Everyone wants to tell you that all you have to do is save money. What do you think that looks like when your starting point is so far below most people's worst experiences?! It looks like never getting to go on a vacation because you can't afford to take a day off, see a doctor, see a dentist, pay all your bills in any given month... Jesus Christ i hate the absolutely bizarre inability to accept ones own privileges.
Wow, thank you for this video. This video is super informational with details you could NEVER get from a Dentist. I really appreciate how your comparisons are easy to understand and are really eye opening. I'm on the verge of losing my bridge which includes my four front teeth and have had nightmares of it falling off for the last 5 years. My biggest fear is of being toothless or having to wear removable dentures or a partial. (I had a partial from age 14 to 21 and it never fit right and constantly fell out and so I rarely smiled or felt confident) The first 10 years of having my bridge was life changing and I never looked back. Fast forward to today and now I'm facing the fear of reliving that trauma and lack of confidence and self esteem. I've been dragging my feet on getting implants or dentures and then I came across your video. I never new FIXED dentures were a thing ! Thanks for demonstrating what they look like and describing how they are similar and different to real teeth and most importantly the maintenance. I've always been embarrassed about my teeth and quite frankly tried to ignore the impending issue of by bridge falling out. But after watching just one video from an intelligent, confident and attractive and woman like yourself, I am ready to start taking action and exploring my options. Thank you very much for all you do!
Just a quick, but very big, thank you for these postings. It's very comforting to hear from someone who has been through the same experience. No friends or family can truly understand so for me these were very educational and comforting especially as it doesn't seem to be that common to have this done in the UK.
Best decision I ever made. I lost bone in my jaw due to chemo so my natural teeth began moving. It was dentures or implants. Choose implants and so glad I did. I have 6 implants on top and 6 on bottom so mine are quite secure! I can eat whatever I want. I choose zirconium for the teeth material for its look as well as it’s durability. No regrets. Surgery was not bad at all. I really didn’t have any pain. However, had to wait 3 months from temporaries to permanents. And I wasn’t happy with first set of perms so they corrected the issue and the 2nd set is great. Don’t hold back…do it!
WONDERFUL EXPLANATION!!! Thank you for sharing your feelings about dental implants. It is very difficult for me as a surgeon to explain to patients how dental implants feel, and how all-on-4 Implants denture feels. You explained it beautifully. I will refer to your videos for my patients who would like to have a patient testimonial. I would love to interview you in my channel if you have time to help explain this topic even further. Again Great Video!
Your feedback on all of these different experiences and devices for the mouth are very valuable. I just had all my upper teeth pulled, only five that I had left after several years. My upper set is ready to go in a couple of more days. It is very helpful to hear from someone like yourself and to see such a stunning example of what these look like. Your speech is perfect and your overall appearance is one of radiant health. Thank you as I just discovered you yesterday. By the way I used to be in the Navy just north of Jacksonville. Kings Bay Georgia for four years back in the 1980s. All the best to you and your family
Welcome to the channel, John! There’s so many different options out there and technology has come so far, you can get teeth that are almost impossible to distinguish from that which we’re born with. And thanks for your service! My dad is a retired Senior Chief. All of the men in my family and my husband’s are retired military. ♥️
@@kalinjax You remind me a lot of 1990s era Friends Jennifer Aniston (face/hair). I’m sure you get that a lot. It’s a compliment because she’s a pretty lady. :) Thanks for making this video - I only wonder what you paid for your kit here?
Yes, but it is all FAKE! She's NOT healthy and what are you even talking about? She probably wears a wig, and fake breasts, and maybe a fake leg, who knows... so healthy!
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 getting 4 implants plus the special denture to fit the screws was estimated to be $ 5000 dollars. I simply can’t afford that much since my social security is $ 12000. I decided not to get the implants. So now I am stuck with having no teeth on my bottom. There is not enough ridge to get regular dentures. I’m ok with it. The shape of my face is changing. I’m ok with that too. I don’t give a fig about other people’s opinions.
Thank you for your videos. I cried for a while because I didn't expect what the feelings were going to be like. But when I ran into your videos they made me feel better.
I recently got this procedure done. And I can concur, they do NOT feel like real teeth at all. You get used to it like she said and it becomes the new normal and it doesn’t matter. But it definitely took some getting used to. I have acrylic cuz that’s what I could afford at the time. In a few years I plan on upgrading them to zirconium.
@@user-ie6le5qd2p In 2017 I spent $29,000 for bone grafts, 6 implants & 2 complete sets of dentures (temporary & permanent). I used Care Credit & 6 implants were all l could afford at the time. I was advised to get 8.
@@jac929 Wow I can't believe they wouldn't give you everything including top of the line implants for the 29K.... That's insanely greedy of these ppl! Just wow! In another country you would have been completely set up!
My story is a little different. I went to dentist quite often as a kid and had braces into my teens. I could never get my teeth perfect and the way I wanted them. No matter how much I brushed, flossed I always had cavities, or needed a cap after a root canal. It's quite exhausting going to dental appointments every 6 months and spending thousands and thousands of dollars because insurance never really covered the whole expense. Prior to retirement and Covid I went to the dentist and he informed me I would need 2 root canals and 2 caps. Seeing retirement on the horizon I told him just do the root canals and fill the teeth I'm having them all removed. I was finally tired of being in this club that supports dentists kids college educations and I was looking into implants. Best decision I ever made. My mouth was overcrowded as a kid so when I had braces they removed a few teeth so I only had 12 on top and 12 on bottom. It was strange going and having all my lower teeth pulled on 1 visit then 3 months later having all my top teeth pulled but I survived. It took about a year to get my final teeth but it was worth the minor discomfort and inconveniences. Looking back now I should have done this in my 40's and not waited to 60.
Thanks for sharing. I am 41 and need to do this, and just reading your comment about what you wish you would have done makes me say to myself I MUST do this asap.
My mouth is too narrow and I cannot breathe through my nose so when I sleep I can only breath through my mouth. Apparently, this dries out teeth and makes them rot no matter how much/well you brush/floss. Why couldn't ANY dentist tell me this so that I could fix my nasal passage when I was still young and still had teeth?
@@etherealceleste They never offer solutions that will help you with dry mouth because they want to keep making money off of you. My dentist even did this to me, and he was someone that my family had known him since he was a boy - my brother grew up with him, and he is the dentist for all of us now. I spent the money to get _ALL_ of my teeth capped with most having root canals, because meds I have to be on give me dry mouth. He would just tell me that I will keep having problems with my teeth until I get off the medicines, which is not possible! I will be on these meds for life because of my disability! I did my own personal research and found an extremely simple and super cheap solution of having him write a prescription for a medicine called pilocarpine. I take it at night time with my medicines that cause the dry mouth, and ever since I’ve never had another cavity… even when I have terrible hygiene and I’m not brushing my teeth as often as I should (however I’m not eating sugary foods and such). What does the medicine do? It simply makes you salivate (and sweat a bit too, but I am passed out sleeping, so it doesn’t bother me). It really disturbs me that such a simple solution was there *this entire time,* yet not one single dentist told me about it and I had to give them *my entire life savings* of $30k _PLUS_ $10k in credit card debt to keep treating teeth. The only break he cut me was forgiving the final $700 dollars I owed because I simply had no more funds or credit card line to pay it! They really are greedy arses without a conscience. I tell everybody now about that medicine (pilocarpine) whenever someone shares with me that they are having similar issues with dry mouth and cavities. My dentist pretended like he never heard of this simple solution, yet he prescribed the medicine to me upon my request without any pushback whatsoever. He went to USC for his degree (an extremely prestigious college that is _VERY_ difficult to be accepted into), so to pretend like he never heard of such a solution in all of his career with his big lQ is a complete joke which I don’t buy for a moment. I’m bet my life that he has never once recommended pilocarpine to anyone of his patients that are in similar shoes to me ever since I began getting the prescription from him - he wants all the money and work he can get. Pure greed.
Thank you for sharing. I had all my teeth removed after having so many problems and taking three or four ibuprofen a day for years. Now I finally pain free. With implants.
I wish you good luck, are you happy with how they look? I am in the UK and i'm booked in for the 9th of March to have all mine out and new implants. i am so worried, but i'm at the stage where i can barely eat. i am a smoker so have to stop otherwise the warranty will be void, but for what it is costing me it is a sacrifice i have to take.
I am 70 yrs old and have sjorgrens disease ,my teeth are getting really bad and I have been watching your videos to help me decide if I could cope with implants .....Thank you for all your honest and helpful sharing. I am in South Africa so I don't know the quality of care or prices that are available here.
Thank you so much for this video! I have severe dry mouth from medication I have to take, & my enamel is literally just falling off at the gum line. All over my mouth. So I’m trying to see the best options I can afford. You have helped me with this process. My oral surgeon has finally seen just how bad things are since my last visit 6 months ago as she took another full scale set of X-rays. Now it’s just a matter of time before I have the remaining teeth pulled (I’ve lost 6 now) & getting worked up for the next step(s). I can’t have normal dentistry done anymore with my dentist of over 25 yrs due to the fact that numbing agents no longer work & I have to get completely sedated for almost everything. I feel a lot of relief knowing there IS a solution that looks & feels & acts as natural as possible. No Abe Lincoln wooden teeth! I can hardly wait for a beautiful, white smile again & not the ugly stuff I’m suffering now.
It sounds like my tip here is likely too late to help you in your situation, but if you end up getting caps, then it could still help. My tip will definitely help others regardless though! To those experiencing dry mouth issues (which causes rampant tooth decay), it is paramount to get on a certain kind of medication ASAP that will save you tens of thousands of dollars in dental work. Dentists will never tell you about this tip, because they are greedy and want all the work/money they can get, but they should prescribe the medication to you if you simply ask! Mine did (but I only learned about the medication from doing personal research after I’d already given my dentist $40k for dental work, and couldn’t afford to get any more dental work for cavities/caps/root canals!). The medication I discovered through my own research is _UBER_ cheap and only costs a few bucks a month with insurance (I’m sure it doesn’t cost much either if you don’t have insurance - it’s been out for eons), and what it does is *it causes you to salivate,* so that you _AREN’T_ experiencing dry mouth. It’s amazing and so simple! The only side effect I’ve experienced is a bit of head sweating, but because I take it at night with my other meds that are the ones that cause my dry mouth, I am sleeping through that the slight sweating. What I would give to have learned about this medicine many, many years ago, when my tooth decay started because of the medication I was put on for my disability health problems. I could’ve kept my life savings and not be in credit card debt. 😢 Not one single doctor or dentist told me about such a simple solution, which really tells you everything you need to know about the greedy/wicked health and dental industry. I’m not a brainiac like these doctors are, yet I figured out how to fix my problem just by doing a dang google search when I realized I was no longer able to pay for any more dental work! These dentists/doctors don’t have an excuse!
@alfredsalazar582 Google saliva pill. My dad is prescribed them and that's what he calls them. I'm sure there's several different ones to choose from. Or ask your doctor to prescribe you a saliva pill that helps you produce more saliva in your mouth. My dad's are super tiny pills he takes twice a day and doesn't have any adverse side effects
My dad and I were talking about going to Golpa for my implanted teeth. I’m so happy. Thanks for the heads up about accidentally biting my tongue. Getting them in 2022.
I once had braces because I had crooked teeth and an over bite. This was done back in 8th grade. I wore the braces for two years. A retainer for a year. My teeth were in great shape for a long time, until I had arthritis. My teeth would chip or break off. I would get abscess teeth. I lived on orajel. I finally had to get dentures. Both upper and bottoms done. I don't notice them now. I am now disabled and am on disability income. I will never be able to afford the teeth implants like you have. However, I am thankful for what I do have.
Seriously thank you for these posts. I fell off my bike as a child then was on drugs/etc and my teeth suffered. I just did my bottom arch and I cried for a week from the pain , it’s getting better but now all the questions like this are popping up. Thank u ❤
I have a genetic disorder called hypodontia. My case was severe. Out of 32 teeth, I was missing 19. At age 15, I was required to go through multiple oral surgeries to have my baby teeth removed, and I had permanent bridges put in the top and partials on the bottom. I'm 43, and I just got my denture plate for the top today, and I'm about to get my bottom partial again. With my bridges, I was able to use 6 of the 13 teeth I had remaining as anchors instead of having implants. In June, I fell, and I broke my front anchors. I had to have my anchors surgically removed, and a denture made. It sucks that I could have afforded implants a few years ago. The price is ridiculous now. At least I have my smile back, and I will be able to eat my new normal soon.
Pretty sure that’s my issue too. Ive had bad teeth all my life. Im 54 now. No amount of brushing or flossing could control the decay. Folling fell out. Root canals failed and the teeth fell out. It’s been a life long nightmare.
Being toothless i can still eat about any thing i want except? Corn On The Cob, Nuts, I eat popcorn, steaks chicken and every thing else > Being toothless? You will have to learn how? To repronounce WORDS. Cause you don't have teeth that you use your tongue to push air to form words> Like the Letter V its hard to say with out Teeth You'll will have to use your bottom lip with the top gums to Pronounce it. If you don't it sound like your saying B The word B can just use your lips/ But saying V is hard
My husband had dentures and he doesn’t wear them. He eats normal stuff like potato chips. Me I have only been without mine for seven months. So my ability to eat hard things like popcorn. I really really miss a lot. I am supposed to get my dentures. But my fear of eating and talking. Was unnecessary.
@@angelaschaefer5883 let me tell ya a true story. I went to get dentures right. While in the waiting room> I had flash back of my mom and uncle and people who had denture. THEY NEVER WEAR THEM.🦷🦷🦷🦷They set around in a glass of water all the time. BOY! I GOT UP, AND RAN OUT OF THE DENTIST OFFICE> Not walked🙄🙄But RAN he hee true story 🤣🤣
The stories here are so similar to my own. I’m of the belief that having bad teeth is not lack of care alone. Genetics plays a huge role too. Yet the stigma still exists. I spent decades obsessed with my dental care. I did everything right and spent many thousands trying to save them. I ended up with full dentures anyway. My disability income and lack of health coverage didn’t make it easy. CareCredit and family donations helped and I am still paying them off. My big beef is that the medical system doesn’t treat dental care as a serious health issue. Bad teeth causes great distress emotionally but also impacts one’s health. It can also lead to heart issues and poor health in general. It doesn’t make any sense why the mouth isn’t getting the attention it deserves. I was traumatized by the whole process on so many levels. Ideally, dental implants are better overall but how many of us have the $60,000 needed for a full set? Not many. You have to take out a mortgage just to be able to eat properly! Not on my budget!! Good luck to all of you and thanks for the video. 😊💖
I agree it’s so unfair there isn’t better dental coverage. I need like 8-10 crowns on all my molars and some pre molars, have one so far. Dentist said filling is breaking on another molar but can wait on it maybe another year, it’s gonna be $1700 like how can I afford it all ugh. I don’t have dental insurance but it usually doesn’t cover much anyway. I have been saving for it but then I’m afraid to spend a fortune and it still fails then I need dentures.
@@milliem8051 It's a shameful situation all the way around. I appreciate the skill and materials that go into denistry, but it should be available and affordable to ANY one who so desperately needs it. It affects every aspect of our lives. Money is the frickin' root of all evil!
@@lindahandley5267 right. And a lot of people have dental issues that stem from growing up poor and/or family abuse/neglect. That’s how my teeth got so bad then by the time I had money to get to the dentist and learned better hygiene, the damage was done. My sisters have bad teeth too, one in dentures in her 40s. I feel lucky that my teeth at least look good, no one would realize how bad my teeth are.
60 000? You could just travel to another country and do it there. I believe it’s 20 000 in my country. I’ll make sure I keep at least 25 000 in my savings for the future.
I have two implants and it takes awhile to get used to the feel. Eventually, they feel no different than the rest of the your teeth. It's like getting new eyeglasses - it takes a bit to get used to them but you adjust in time.
I'm struggling with my dentures and partial and I stumbled on your videos. I have an extra bone in the roof of my mouth, so my dentist wanted to do implants but didn't want to fight with my insurance. So after a few months, we're gonna try to get the implants approved. Thank you for your honesty and candidness!!
I just got full implants 4 days ago. Recovery is going well. I was so weirded out when I first saw them with my cheeks swollen and not being used to seeing me smile or my teeth at all. I hid my teeth from the world for years. And people would always say they never could tell I had problems with my teeth because my milk teeth looked fine and that’s what people see when I talk. But I wore the mask past the pandemic making excuses to everyone why I felt more comfortable wearing. I am so excited to not have to hide anymore and to be able to actually chew my food properly. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I have dentures and have thought about implants. The thing is, I can't seem to relax when I have them in. Also whatever I can eat without them taste better. If you have good teeth, take care of them. My teeth were bad every since I can remember.
@@veronicapascal293 It's been several years since I got dentures. I spent thousands trying to save my teeth. Finally I chose to have them extracted and got dentures. I would shop around. Would have saved alot just going with dentures in the first place. I spent close to ten thousand dollars for mine, but needed an oral surgeon for the extractions and bone grafts in order to get the dentures. Hope that helps.
I'm delighted with my dentures, I eat everything sleep in them too.best thing I ever did, should have done it years ago. Implants I never wanted, the idea of a black and decker in my gums freaks me out.
Very informative video! You make the things that you have gone through very relatable and take the fear of the unknown out. I don't know how you do so well speaking extemporaneously on so many different aspects, but it is great! I salute you for approaching what seems like a relatively taboo subject and bringing down to earth for so many people! Keep up the great work!
You are really good. At the beginning of your journey. You had classic dentures. Both my husband and my self will have classic dentures. Or are they called standard dentures?? You still made me feel relaxed. My husband has vascular dementia. So I really appreciate you. Doing these videos. Reassuring me he will be okay. That I will be okay too.
Yes, it exposes yourself but very unselfish of you. Thank you very much. I had throat cancer 3 years ago and the radiation/chem trashed my mouth. Lost a lot of teeth so I’m headed towards the same thing. Thanks again for sharing
I hope you enjoy your new smile. That you stay cancer free. My Dad lost some of his teeth when he had radiation. For throat cancer. He is 81 years old and doing well now.
Bite force isn't stronger. Difference is that with teeth, you get feedback from every single tooth. With implants you get feedback from one side (two implants) or all sides (all four implants). So, you do have to learn how to chew again.
I’m 52 years old and I’ve been dealing with everything from an expensive mouth full of implants to regular dentures since I was 40. I allowed a young, inexperienced dentist to ruin my natural teeth with crowns, fillings, veneers to implants so on a so forth. He ruined my entire mouth. He cost me years of pain and money, in the end, I had to pay an oral surgeon to surgically remove all of my implants that put me in a world of pain and agony and it didn’t come cheap either. After that I had surgery to build up the bone in my gums that took almost 2 years to recover from. After all that, I have 2 implants on the bottom that pop in and out and a regular upper denture. All of that cost over 150K and I hate the way these fit and look. So do yourself a favor, go to someone with experience who knows what their doing and research them every way possible. Good luck and best wishes to everyone.
Good lord 150k?...what "normal" person can afford that? Just financing that is a mortgage payment. Costs are out of control and affordable solutions for dental care (even BASIC care) are sadly out of reach for most people. I'm glad you were able to accomplish your result but that's an incredible amount of money.
Just debating which way to go with my dental problem, and watching this video has cleared up most, if not all my anxieties. Clearly and thoroughly explained, I now feel confident to go ahead and progress to the next stage. Just what I needed, thank you.
The truth is most of us. Will end up with dentures. Implants cost anywhere between $12,000-$80,000. No one who has middle class income. Or low income is going to be able to get implants. They make nice dentures for $1000. Even if dental was covered. Which I think it should be. Dentures are more affordable and less maintenance. Which if we all were covered. Would be what we would get.
I currently have my temp dentures, and I hate them. I'm 56 years old, and while I wasn't in massive pain with what teeth I had left, they were in bad shape. I was missing most of my back teeth among with one of my front uppers which I had a partial for. Finally upgraded my dental insurance and went to the dentist after not going for too long. They told me most cant be saved, and I agreed to have them all of them pulled except for 6 on the bottom which they said were most likely to be saved. I feel it was the worst decision I've ever made having it done to be honest, wish I could take it back. Now I'm facing whether I might be happy with perm upper and a partial lower, or working towards going full implanted bridges like you have. To be honest I HATE taking them out, and not sure that I would like the "snap in" ones. Since I'm only like 8 weeks into this, will perm dentures be that much better??? I can't stand how much food gets underneath them, and have to worry about what I can eat and having to rush off to clean them after eating. Does this get better with permanent ones?? Or should I start looking for options for "all on 4's", and how would you recommend how to find my best option locally. If you have read this far, I'd like you to know that I appreciate what you have shared so far with your experiences and look forward to more, thanks. Rob
Good luck, Rob. You might want to also check the channel called Your Favorite Denture Wearer. He has a lot about his history with dentures you might find helpful.
My teeth were so awful that I’m sure those hillbilly teeth you buy at the Halloween store would have been better. Anything but my natural teeth. So while it was a rough ride at times, it was significantly better than what I had. But yes, that temp set is going to get loose, fit weird, rub and cause sore spots, requires several adjustments, etc. By the time your gums properly heal and most of the shrinkage has taken place, you will get a permanent set that is usually way better quality and fits so much better. It was a night and day difference for me. But yes, without adhesive to create a barrier, food can get under there. Thing is, food gets under my hybrids all the time. I have a little bit of space between the hybrid and my gums to allow me to clean it properly with floss and a waterpik. In fact, more food gets under here than it did with my dentures but it’s something I got used to. From what I hear, a lot of people have problems with partials. Also, lower dentures cause the most problems because there is no suction. Dentists usually recommend at leas a couple of implants on the bottom to snap that denture in. Any setup you get is going to have some pros and cons but it sounds like you might be happier with snap in dentures. More affordable than what I have, does basically the same thing but has to be removed, which means you can clean them better. I hope some of this helps. Hang in there. It can still be a little rough 8 weeks out.
That looks very expensive to have done! That would be a dream for me not having to worry about my dentures coming loose. I spend so much money on adhesive!!!
I finally did my all on 4 about 4 months ago now. The top is all on 4 and I have a snap on now on the bottom. The bottom will transition to all on 4 too after the surgeon makes sure the implants are stable-viable. All good so far. This was the best money and decision I ever made. It took me several years to save the money but it is worth it ! I finally can eat , my health is improved and I’ve gained a few pounds from 96 to 118. I’m ecstatic Please continue to make these videos and educate people about dental health and choices. I had dentures first and I hated them to be honest. I can empathize with the viewers here and their situations. There is hope!! If you can stay committed -you can be free again to have a healthy mouth! Best thing I’ve ever done for myself and my family!!
How much did it end up costing you if you dont mind saying? I've had dentures for a few years now that I paid almost 5k for. I've given up trying to eat with them in. Implants may be a better option for me
Great video. I have a question for the q&a: Do you find a significant difference in face muscles support between dentures, hybrids, and your current implants? I understand that dentures do not give adequate support and muscles tend to sink, but I wonder about different implants in that regard. Thank you!
One thing you should cover on here is people with bad oral hygiene should definitely not get dental implants. Oddly most dental channels and dentists in general don’t do this despite the huge risks with infections traveling up into your head & ultimately your brain from not keeping the implants & gums clean. I know someone this happened to & it’s horrendous.
My is in her 70s she has couple of implants. She uses waterpik still got infection. Underneath the implant that had to be taken out drained. Then done again. This person is correct about risk of infection.
❤Thank you so much for your video! I can only imagine how vulnerable you may have felt for doing this but its helped me. I've had trouble teeth all my life and starting my path to hybrids. This has helped❤
THANK YOU SO VERY much for providing such accurate and detailed information regarding your TEETH TRILOGY. I am currently in the same boat (horribly bad, decayed, rotten teeth (upper arch) ...TO....dentures ...AND.... now I plan to have dental implants in a month. Therefore, my oral /dental saga continues.
I have only the top, my bottom teeth are all my natural teeth. I wanted to add my experience to yours, I broke a tooth out of my hybrid on a bacon cheeseburger driving down the road and I felt nothing. There was something hard and I thought it was gristle and I reached in and pulled it out and looked at it, then I looked at myself in the rearview mirror and pulled into the next parking lot. There I wiped the little white plastic thing off with a napkin and looked in the mirror and held it up there and sure enough my tooth had been in my burger and I had not felt a thing.
Did my try'in today. I'm 4 weeks from getting them loaded. I was so surprised today that I sound stupid talking. Apparently, a year and a half of dentures makes you used to a bulky palate. I sounded awful during try in. The teeth are shaped so much differently as well. I'm still nervous, but I know it will work out. (1. Because I paid for this nonsense and 2. Because I can always just have dentures if this epically fails).
@StephanieLaszik Good for you. Thanks for sharing? Can I ask you a couple of questions? One question is how long did it take you to get to this point? Second, was it expensive for you? I hate to ask personal questions. I'm just still kind of lost with the whole process.
@@kristakelsey1 as soon as Covid hit in March 2020, I went and had the extractions and immediate dentures put in. Then, 6 months later when 8 got my permanent dentures, we decided to do the upper implants that day. That was in February of this year. I am about 3.5 weeks from getting my hybrid loaded. I have spent $18,000 out of pocket. The other $10,000 was paid for by insurance.
As someone who had six implants installed around a week ago this was super helpful. Thank you!! I had the worst dental phobia and anxiety, but had it done under sedation. This answered so many questions for what comes next
I'm in stage one. Just went for consultation. SUPER excited to be able to chew again. I've been breaking teeth since I was 14. Being 35 now, they're shredded. Its time.
I live in New York, i fall broke two front teeth, dr took whatever left in in the roots. And in three days he got me temporary. When he pulled tooth he also filled in with bone powder. Now I have a bone inside the gum. In New York they asked 10.000$ for two teeth , i decided to go to Turkey to my dentist, 2 implant and two crown cost me 1342$ plus 800 round trip with Turkish airlines. My friend who needed three implants and 4 crown all cost to him 2178$. Many Europeans and US people goes to Turkey not only dentistry also plastic surgery other surgeries hair transplant. They got really great hospitals and services.
This is so informative! I never realized they get screwed on and that they do that gauze over the screw. I for some reason always thought they popped on and off. I have little enamel left and my dentist wants to do some wild things soon, it's nice to hear you explain this. Thank you!
You’re so awesome! Thank you for being mature about this process and genuinely helping others like myself! May the universe continue to bless you and your family to continue to be a blessing! Peace & Abundance to you!
thank you for answering that Q, I used to have the same problems as you and your videos gave me the courage to have an upper arch reconstruction, so I recently got my final hybrids like a month ago, for the time being I have the same sensations as you, they look like teeth (from the front only) but do not feel like them, this quite honestly bothers me a bit because every time I touch them with my tongue I am aware these are not real teeth so hope this will improve... but as for smiling, speaking and eating they function 80% like my own teeth
Thanks, I enjoy and have learned alot from you I got my teeth pulled a couple months ago and just got dentures. Today is day 11 I had to trim the inside lower left side with a Dremel cause it was digging in to my tongue. You said I should feel no pain. Well now I can finally eat stuff like a burger. Still sucks having a mouth full of plastic, especially covering the pallet. Thanks again. I especially like your videos because you are pretty and explain very clearly I can understand. I'm getting used to my dentures, well kinda. Good job explaining in all your videos. I'm 59 but having a pretty smile is nice again.
I've been a type1 diabetic for 23 years. Diabetes & smoking have taken their toll on my gums & teeth. So much so that in the last 3 years I have lost 4 teeth and my gums have been permanently swollen & sore for many years now. Thankfully, I gave up smoking on July the 12th of this year. Doing that alone has dramatically improved my gums, even if it's only been 3 months. I am still working on them & trying to tighten my blood glucose control as that too affects the gums, in the hope that I can soon be considered for implants. I never smile due to my teeth, so I pray that at 45, something can finally be done & I can smile again. Thank you for this video.
I hope you can get the implants you need. Since you are diabetic. If your teeth are in bad shape. It makes it really hard for you to eat. Especially raw fruits and vegetables. Plus eating is necessary to maintain blood sugar levels. I am so sorry that you are going through this. My teeth are bad but I am not diabetic. So not serious situation like yours. I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m on the healing process after extraction of the rest of my teeth, put 6 implant on the top and 6 on the lower jam, having now my cosmetic denture ( not the best feeling) Will be back to Turkey in 3 months time for my definitive teeth, can’t wait, but soo far so good 👍 Can’t afford the prices in UK, and I’m very happy with the treatment in Turkey, no regrets at all, strongly recommend. My life is changing 😊
I am 61 yrs old and unfortunately lost the remaining 8 teeth that hold the caps and bridges on my upper teeth . I tried the dentures, but oh my lordy, the gagging and gums sores were so extreme that I can not stand anymore in spite of multiple adjustments. So, I decided to have implants. Expensive? Yes, but they offer easy payments like credit card. Now I am happy no more sore , no gagging and I don't have to take it out every night, and you have a good smile first thing in the morning, no more hiding from your partner.
I have been to the dentists today and my dentist told me about implants. I am seriously considering having them done. 1800 pounds for 4 screws and roughly 300 pounds for the teeth. Watching your video may have just swayed my decision to go ahead. Thankyou for an honest video. I am in the UK.
I wish I knew they was so cheap over here, I went turkey last week and now have go back in 3 months to have the implants. Now I have temporary teeth and look like a horse im devastated x
That is ridiculously cheap. I'm assuming you are UK based due to the usage of 'pound'. I recently paid £10,000 for a single implant plus crown and two implants plus a 3 crown bridge. I would be very suspicious of an Implantologist who quotes you £4000 for 4 implants and 4 crowns.
Thank you for making this video. I wanted all-on-four back 10 years ago when I could afford them but my (now ex) wife prevented me. Now, courtesy of the financial devastation from that divorce it will be very difficult for me to get implants. To anyone considering this, don't hesitate unless you're sure your circumstances won't change.
I do enjoy your videos! I was wondering how much for the dentures you're wearing now that have lasted 8 years? You have been truly lucky to win a contest that gave you the original set of implants that you're showing in this video. I imagine you didn't have much bone loss being so young and having the issues with your original teeth. Again, I really appreciate your videos and can you please advise what you paid and where.
Can you recommend a water pick? I got a great travel one, but you can’t tip it, gotta tip your head, haha! My non-travel one is kicking the bucket soon….thanks! Oh, and all the questions I asked before getting my implants came from learning with your videos, so a BIG a thank you!!
There are some really good off brand ones on Amazon. I just had to replace mine and got a good one for around $30. My original Waterpik was $100! I have a small portable one for travel but it’s holds so little water that I have to fill it several times to get through my whole mouth. The one I got recently on Amazon is full size and holds plenty of water.
I have a portable Waterpik® and I LOVE it because there's no hose, it's all self-contained. But when I need to break out the big guns, I have a water pick nozzle and hose hooked into my shower head. I got it off Amazon. It has an adjustable valve to control the amount of pressure. You can turn it down for those sensitive areas and if you turn it up, you could blow out the shower door if you wanted! :)
I have two that have served me well. Both waterpiks. One is portable. You charge it up and take it on the go. This is what I use when I am traveling. The other is just the standard waterpik that you plug into the wall.
the most important thing is to use it daily and to floss with threads. I have had a couple of piks, not expensive, from Amazon and they all worked well.
It’s so sad what the USA charges for dental when you don’t have insurance. My dad went to Mexico to get all his teeth like yours done and he paid $60,000 pesos or the equivalent of $3000 US dollars.
Very Informative, thank you so much. I'm scheduled for April 2nd to have my uppers extracted and receive a full upper arch . I need this so badly and after watching your video I'm more than ready to do this. I will be on the lookout for more videos. Thank you so much
I'm so glad I came across your video! I'm in the process of deciding between dentures and denture implants and you have given me so much information from an actual patient account 🙏🏿 so thank you so much for your candid experience
I was asking you about sagging and volume loss on fb. I’m still in my temps so I think it’s definitely fixable. One thing you mentioned was the “Lip Bumper “ for lip support, but I only saw that for bottom arch and bottom teeth. Let us know about this! We love you
I am three weeks into my “all on fours.” Still experiencing discomfort and wondering if I am EVER going to get use to this change? So far, I have some regrets; however. It was enviable that I would eventually go down this road (59yrs old). Thank you for ALL of your informative videos, they have been a great help! I know it gets better, right now it’s a constant “oh hell what I have I done!”
Update on my progress. Four weeks into the new implants, I HATE these **** things! I’m screwed now, no turning back, it’s been a nightmare! DO NOT do this unless you have zero options!
hi Jt, I only need one inplant and still loss on what to do. Its ben 6 months how is your progress. Also was anyone in the comments put to sleep during this procedure
I went through exactly what you experienced with your teeth. My teeth were falling out of my mouth from the root. I was having a conversation with someone, and I could feel my wisdom tooth slowly lifting out of my gums and onto my tongue. I played it off like something was in my tooth and ran to the bathroom to spit my tooth into my hand. I lost about five or six teeth in the same manner. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford implants, so I had to wear dentures after all my teeth were extracted. I was forty-six at the time and I am now in my sixties. I'm retired and my income would never cover the price of implants, so I just have to deal with it. I wish that I could find an implant specialist who would offer me a full upper and lower implant pro bono. It would be one of the happiest days of my life!
I’ll be getting implants in the very near future but finding it hard to choose the dentist. If you don’t mind can you tell me where you get yours done, because yours look very natural and that’s the look I’m going for.
You are such a good speaker! I like how you explain things, and don’t get all jokey, and have a bunch of silly graphics popping up behind you, ha ha, like so many otherwise interesting videos have!
Im human, i would be disrtracted if she had missing tooth or yellow stains, not knowing or caring about her history and some of not her doing. In this video, i actually looked at her eyes way more than her teeth, eventhough its all about the teeth. So I love this implant thing. The lady was given a second chance to enjoy life. That's awesome
I’m so thankful for you and your honesty. I love your teaching style. You have genuine concern for others. Shows that you are kind. I only wish those who worked in dentistry were like you. I recently got a partial upper, and it was supposed to be very flexible and a horseshoe style. Nothing touching my palate. The finished product was a hard acrylic. That kind of had some give to it but it wasn’t symmetrical on both sides and therefore it just felt so clunky. I was hoping I could use it to chew with and my dentist said oh no, this is just for cosmetics. One side looks great and the hooks are acrylic and the same color as my gum. The other side has tiny little baby teeth and I don’t know why they are. Lab did it that way the bite is off as well. I did go back a couple of times, but I have given up. My daughter has been a dental lab technician for 24 years so I’m hoping at her next visit next year she can take it with her and try to do some thing with it. The other issue is the teeth they put in there are really yellow how embarrassing, my daughter said well you don’t want to look like you have bicolor corn teeth. I am 70 years old. I have spent fortunate in my mouth and lost every single tooth. They did a root canal on, and there were many medication‘s have turned my teeth, a grayish color, I still have some old amalgam fillings. 30 years ago I started asking my dentist to please take my teeth out and let me have a horseshoe denture. I know I am not using the proper language to describe what I want. I even went so far as to get those silly snap on teeth. What a joke, I let people take pictures of me no problem, but I’m not smiling and I haven’t for decades.

whats the cost of these
How are the ones you have now different from your first dental implants?
great video, thanks for sharing
There is a difference between dental implants with dentures and dental implants with zirconia crowns.... Zirconia crowns doesn't have any kind of denture... So they are comfortable to wear.
here's a good question: How do we LOWER the prices of dental work in general? Its absolutely criminal how expensive it is.
Go to Mexico
You lower the prices by lowering the costs to produce them relative to the assets needed to produce them, therefore allowing them to expand to meet demand rapidly enough to lower prices. If asset prices and capital expenditure therefore falls, this increases the rate of return/ real profits even with charging less for the product and allows for efficient expansion of business to keep costs down.
in my country dentures are the affordable option .. sorry if it's not at yours :/
It's not easy to have teeth issues. Thank you so much for sharing so deeply because you are helping many people.
Very true ! I am in the proces of having them and am afraid . This clip helps a lot .
Yes I think Ive damaged the nerves in my face from stifling my smile for so long.
We need a world with a world that has a world with a world in it…

How much is covered by insurance and how much it off pocket. I always see these videos but never get any clue as to how much it cost
Good luck!

What are snap ins? I'm not spending 60k on teeth.
Thank you for talking so openingly about this. It is great to get the info out to people on a peer related level. Oral care is so underrated
Underrated??? There putting screws in your bone of your skull......thats far from Underrated

Very amazing to hear this from a patient's point of view. Thank you for making this video!
How much is a full restoration like hers my teeth r soft n there breaking up
@@Tinanbobby There are two schools of thoughts in dentistry.

@@susanwright1931 How are you feeling these days with your new smile?
Hi Kalinjax! I just had my All On 4 done yesterday. I have some swelling of course but otherwise I can talk and I have severe aches but no pain. This is one of the best decisions I’ve made. You don’t realize how much of you health depends on a healthy smile. There are over 120 diseases that are linked to the mouth and your overall body. I know it’s an investment but would you like to buy luxury car or treat yourself to vacation trips or do you want to think you’re worth investing in your health. It’s definitely the best money I’ve spent!
Interested in price please
I hate to say this but for many of us who aren't doing this we aren't choosing between a luxury car (never been able to afford a vehicle I have walked myself to school, college and work my whole life) and our teeth or a vacation (never been on one unless you count a 5 day camping trip in 1st grade an hour or two from our home) and our teeth.
Personally I'm choosing between having heat during the winter or teeth.
Food or teeth.
The ability to see or teeth (I can only afford at best $11 glasses from Zenni mind you)
I don't have internet in my home.
@Rachel Lopes I just had top arches done and it was 24k out the door (zirconia)
@Jade O'Neal I'm sorry but your post is cap. You have a college degree, a job, bur you can't afford a car, internet, a phone that isn't
I got all my top teeth implanted. It feels as close as real teeth as you can get!
I appreciate this video as a dentist. Now I have a better understanding of the patient’s perspective.

I recently got this procedure done. And I can concur, they do NOT feel like real teeth at all. You get used to it like she said and it becomes the new normal and it doesn’t matter.
I had many root canals & crowns as well! I used to tell my dentist that I've purchased his sports car.

They never offer solutions that will help you with dry mouth because they want to keep making money off of you.
Not one single doctor or dentist told me about such a simple solution, which really tells you everything you need to know about the greedy/wicked health and dental industry. I’m not a brainiac like these doctors are, yet I figured out how to fix my problem just by doing a dang google search when I realized I was no longer able to pay for any more dental work! These dentists/doctors don’t have an excuse!
@anti-ethniccleansing465 what is the medication? I read everything you wrote hoping you would say what it was.

I am getting dentures just like you very soon. I also so grateful for being able to get them. I want everyone to be able to get them that needs them.

Im 44 and have the same issues.
Looking to make a move.
You made me feel alot more confident

Bite force isn't stronger. Difference is that with teeth, you get feedback from every single tooth. With implants you get feedback from one side (two implants) or all sides (all four implants). So, you do have to learn how to chew again.
Bite force compared to weak/damaged teeth must feel much better
How much upper. & lower implants cost
Thanks for the video, it takes people like you for the rest of us to learn and have questions answered. UA-cam should keep your videos playing!
Lovely lady. Reviewing my options between dentures and implants. Most interesting info. Thanks.

It can still be a little rough 8 weeks out.
all-on 4s are very costy and food still goes under them, snap-ins could be a good option, on top of what Kalinjax said, they prevent shrinkage
Dentsurefit soft reline, I'm using it and no food gets underneath
Dentures are not so bad, no pain, no fillings, no root canal treatments and NO LINING DENTISTS POCKETS.
I’m ecstatic
Please continue to make these videos and educate people about dental health and choices.
Implants may be a better option for me
Id like to know the ballpark cost as well
What a precious lady. Thanks for your vulnerability and sharing your story.
Credit to you for sharing this and answering a hell of a lot of the ifs and buts for people who are thinking of having the same surgery
Great video. I have a question for the q&a: Do you find a significant difference in face muscles support between dentures, hybrids, and your current implants? I understand that dentures do not give adequate support and muscles tend to sink, but I wonder about different implants in that regard. Thank you!
This is what I’d like to know too that I can’t seem to find anywhere! Following:)
I have the upper arch and theirs a slight change
Also, I like the comment below asking about facial muscles support! Good question! I am excited for Thursday’s Q& A
Going to be going over it in the Q&A!
A Waterpik is Instrumental in flossing the implants and after 10 years I’ve had no issues. I’ve got 22 implants as well.
Thanks so much for sharing your journey!!! It takes the stigma out of dental health issues!
Glad it was helpful. Best of luck!
You trying to give the doctor info?
This is so informative! I never realized they get screwed on and that they do that gauze over the screw. I for some reason always thought they popped on and off. I have little enamel left and my dentist wants to do some wild things soon, it's nice to hear you explain this. Thank you!
There are 2 types of implant supported dentures. One you can take off yourself and one that only the dentist can remove.
Thanks, I enjoy and have learned alot from you
I got my teeth pulled a couple months ago and just got dentures.
It WILL get better for you!🙏 🙏
I hope you can get the implants you need.
As a person who has full denture implants, yes they do feel like teeth….. it is essential to maintain healthy strong gums and bone.
Thanks for sharing your experience,
I’m on the healing process after extraction of the rest of my teeth, put 6 implant on the top and 6 on the lower jam, having now my cosmetic denture ( not the best feeling)
Will be back to Turkey in 3 months time for my definitive teeth, can’t wait, but soo far so good 👍
Can’t afford the prices in UK, and I’m very happy with the treatment in Turkey, no regrets at all, strongly recommend.
My life is changing 😊
Hi I'm going to turkey in April Antalya, all on 4 any tips or concerns? Has it all gone well.
Yes, I am also curious about the price and where you had them done. Looking for someone in the midwest
@@isol I have one from Walmart, and it’s ok…. It’s my first one. Was hoping she (or someone) would recommend one they “love”.
It’s so sad what the USA charges for dental when you don’t have insurance. My dad went to Mexico to get all his teeth like yours done and he paid $60,000 pesos or the equivalent of $3000 US dollars.
How good did they look?? Did they do a good job??
@@fftlmfao17 they look great too bad I can’t upload pictures on here to show you. He’d always complain about his dentures. No more of that.
We love you
Going to be going over it in the Q&A!
It will, once the swelling abates,
Try Cubensis (mushroom therapy)
Will RESET your brain to accept them without "Ghost pains"
Update on my progress. Four weeks into the new implants, I HATE these **** things! I’m screwed now, no turning back, it’s been a nightmare! DO NOT do this unless you have zero options!
@@jtpilot1584 are you okay now
hi Jt, I only need one inplant and still loss on what to do.
You can travel to Kazakhstan and get your implants. $100 for Korean titanium implants
How are you dealing with uppers and lower dentures? I'm freaking out that I may have to get them.
@@Bossmanrocks do you still have teeth ?
I’ll be getting implants in the very near future but finding it hard to choose the dentist. If you don’t mind can you tell me where you get yours done, because yours look very natural and that’s the look I’m going for.
You are such a good speaker! I like how you explain things, and don’t get all jokey, and have a bunch of silly graphics popping up behind you, ha ha, like so many otherwise interesting videos have!
Thank you for this, you took away a lot of fear for me 🙏🏽💕 and I think you look beautiful! Thank you for being brave!
Thank you so much for being so open and honest about this, you have taken some worries away , thank you
Im human, i would be disrtracted if she had missing tooth or yellow stains, not knowing or caring about her history and some of not her doing. In this video, i actually looked at her eyes way more than her teeth, eventhough its all about the teeth. So I love this implant thing. The lady was given a second chance to enjoy life. That's awesome
Really nice and well done. I am facing reality and needing a complete work up. Thank you so much for the willingness to share
