Fender presented him with three prototypes, they settled on having the cursive letter engraved into the pickguard, and that's what the signature SRV guitars are today. He liked them, gave them his best wishes but he never played any of them live. The guitar he is playing here is a Jimi Hendrix Prototype. Only four of these are known to exist too!!
