Assuming this is 9 bolts per second, it makes 32400 bolts per hour. It'd take 30 hours of passive bolt grinding to make 1 mil. Not a criticism, just an observation.
If u can’t leave ur PlayStation on for some reason. Being able to repeat means u can do it 2 hours for like 100.000 +. I m doing a 8 stack for already 30.000 in 30 minuts but can’t leave the ps5 it stops the streaming sometimes. So I do the 8 stacks for 8/10 hours spreader out until 500.000 than go for the big stack in the weekend when I can be like 4/5 hours on it. Making me getting platinum on ps5

Replaying game, wanted to try this again, cause I need the million bolts, and I was lucky to have about half the wall of crates on the platform. So, after years since this game came out, thankfully it still works in 2024😊🎉
Also just disconnecting your controller works, then you don't have to do anything with the button, I use a wired control and it turns off itself and it did that and I released the button looking for my hot glue gun to glue my button down again and it kept going
Thanks! Finally got it to work on play-through 3. The camera shake made it hard for me to place the second decoy. Even when I got it right, the camera got so janky, that id either run back out the wall or fall out of the map. and now, I have a switcher box sitting on my controller waiting for my platinum to pop.
Thanks for this man. Had saved extra bolts by not buying some of the late game weapons but after beating the game in NG+ I reckoned I would need to play the game through fully 2 more times to get enough bolts. I've no idea what the Devs where thinking when they put this trophy in.
I used this glitch on the PS2 days and it took around 8 (roughly) hours to get 1 million bolts with the huge platform. Of course this also depends on how many bolts you already got. I did this also for the PS3 HD version and still roughly the same time. I never understood why they made a trophy to gather 1 million bolts, this was obviously intended with normal gameplay in mind, so if you have to gather 1 million bolts with normal gameplay this would take days. I believe you get a slight increase in bolts in challenge mode but you don't have any multiplier. Still a good glitch to use if you want to have the platinum trophy because why would you wanna play this game days after completion? There isn't much to do after your first play through and the game doesn't get any more challenging in the so called "challenge mode". In fact it gets easier, I never bought any weapons on my PS3 run and when I arrived at Oltanis I bought the Tesla Claw which is the most powerful weapon in the game, yes it even outclasses the RYNO in my opinion, once you have the gold Tesla Claw the fun is over.
@@igee1605 wrench only runs are possible also bomb glove is weak but suck cannon handles mobs and saving them in the cannon is a one shot on most enemies, bolt saving guarantees you Ultra Nanotech and Tesla Claw

Thank you for this info, how do I exit from this glitch and not lose the bolts, first time I closed the game and lost the bolts. I think I go towards another area and glitch back into the real gameplay screen, I will try this and see if it works.
Yep, that's pretty much how you do it, just jump off the map so you get respawn and make sure to do a manual save otherwise your efforts will be lost.. as you have seen. lol
WARNING! I used the crates seen in this video for 2 hours. I turned my PS3 off to give it a rest, when I came back into the glitch THE CRATES WERE GONE! Currently I am using 4 other crates found on one of the ramps and plan on leaving my console on overnight.
if you stand too close to any of the crates they will not respawn infinitely leading to your bolt flow stopping. I personably used this one for multiple hours to achieve the platinum. also any of stacks of boxes will work but ad mentioned i just used that one as it was close and one of the larger stacks.

If you have your system set to auto shutdown after I certain period of time I would recommend turning it off. Had to restart after 5 hours because I fell asleep and my system shutdown lol oh hell was easier the second time though
Just earned the bolt collector trophy after using the bolt glitch on my challenge mode run. The trophy for 1 million bolts popped at 600K for me given its culmative.
Ik this is old but ty ive been streaming the game on ps4 which already sucks but after about 70k bolts it lags me out without fail so at 70k i saved and came back only to find the boxes not there i figured i was just screwed also side note if u still have the boxes near the pink tree the si is easier than the decoy glitch imo
*Bonus Fact:* You can also make the crates reappear by defeating Drek and choosing to replay the game with all your weapons and next time you return to Rilgar the crates will be back and you will already have everything you need in order to do the bolt glitch again. You're welcome.
I was asking why people didn’t use it this way. I am doing the 8 stacks first. But i can’t have me ps5 leave OVERNIGHT cause it ends the streaming service after a few hours or crashed. So I can’t do the big stack
You sir are a life saver! I'm currently on my last boss in the game and I keep getting defeated by him and its really annoying. With this glitch, I can now buy the R.Y.N.O. and blow his @$$ away :) lol
should work on ps2 as well but you don't even have to get to the raceway the way i did on ps2. simply get the hologuise transform and entert he race and it will put you on the track without your board, then you go to the big set of boxes near the slimes and use your taunter. this is just a repeatable method for ps3. since the hologuise method was patched in the remaster release.

A question: is the trilogy still available for ps3 because for some reason on the playstation store is says the trilogy is only available for the PSVita so does the trilogy work if I download it on ps3?
I've done this glitch before on my ps2 because the hologuise glitch never worked for me, and it has been working fine! but now I have the trilogy version on ps3 and it does not work anymore??!! As soon as i land on the race track and starts running back to avoid triggering the race I pass a hoverboard without a rider and all of a sudden im in the race.. :( anyone else with the same problem? can I get around this somehow? I really need it since I dont seem to be able to beat drek without the ryno :(
+alexander grandbell I don't believe so. Any decoy glove should work just fine. As all you're doing is using it to force yourself to clip into the wall.

Good math, plug in the controller, attach a shifter wrench to it and watch TV for a couple of days.
If it can be used on the explosive crates near the end of the track thta time would be halved
It's actually about 1,000 bolts minute so 60,000 an hour not on challenge mode.

No problem. Pretty sure it works the same way on Vita as well. Though it's a bit harder to get the button to stay pressed.
