I've actually always wondered about this myself since I was a kid. I had no idea efforts were being made to find the elusive poki(W) skip Great video as always Ricky, looking forward to more!
Poki Skip might not be a viable speedrun strategy, but it does seem incredibly useful in something like a minimum% challenge run (or something like a wrench-only run so you can skip the fighter segments altogether)
People (including me at first) wonder about the lack of an O2 Mask. Now I wonder about the lack of a Thruster Pack and its ground slam. I mean, I guess a Poki-Skip run could just be declared complete by jumping onto the last button instead of slamming it.
In the distant past of 2005, I started a new game to test something. I noticed that on Clank's quest for the Infobot, he crosses paths with the Magnet Boots. I wondered if it was possible to bypass the boots and come back for them as Ratchet. Sure enough, you can; you just skirt the edges of the area, and carry on as normal. I got the infobot, got the O2 Mask, and returned to Orxon. And then it happened. I softlocked the game. The path Clank originally took was closed off, and the only path forward available was the vent path...that required the Magnet Boots. I couldn't find an alternative path, and thus I was unable to stop Drek from stopping his nefarious scheme.
@@onetabloid4539 Well well. Who knew it was that simple all along? Edit: In case the comment is missing, someone pointed out that you can perform a certain glitch (that I can't remember) to bypass the area.
