“Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp’s Adventure” is the Worst Disney Sequel I’ve Ever Seen (Review)

- "Lady and the Tramp" is perhaps one of the most unique older animated Disney films. Its slower pacing and arguably unconventional characters make it that this simple movie has a surprising amount of controversy surrounding it. The sequel, therefore, should be a relief to anyone that thought the first film was boring, as it is actually engaging and has a faster pace, right? However, just because the second movie has more of a defined story… that doesn’t necessarily make that story GOOD!
But why do I particularly dislike this Disney sequel more than the others that I’ve watched? Sit back, and let me take you through the crazy and quite possibly problematic ride that is “Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp’s Adventure!”

I think I should specify when I say "the Worst Disney Sequel I’ve Ever Seen," that I hadn't actually SEEN that many Disney Sequels at the time of making this video. I'm sure there might be worse ones that I HAVEN'T seen yet.
FINALLY! Someone who agrees with me how TERRIBLE this sequel that ruined my 2nd favorite Disney movie was to me! You had no idea how that was a STUPID mistake I made as a kid to watch this, and now, as an adult, I'm still haunted by this childhood trauma and everything you said were exactly why I thought this dog crappy waste of a sequel was one of the worst things of my childhood, and today.... I'm still trying to fight through this as if I have no memory of this sequel at all or if it even existed which I shouldn't have!!! Or more likely... I feel like a lot of the annoying character traits that Scamp displays are just normal kid's behavior. He wants something new, other than the family life.
Speaking of which, the three look-alike sisters were incredibly mean to him (calling him names even!) they kind of seemed like the family's darlings to me
so no wonder Scamp wanted to flee. Still gotta agree on most of your points tho, I really loved the movie as a child

Annette, Collette, and Danielle may be well-behaved and housebroken unlike Scamp but they were very immature and real snobs towards him, and not only that, Jim Dear and Tramp, the pups' own father, were terribly harsh with him, and I felt bad for Scamp getting all five of their bullcrap lashed out on him. He didn't deserve that at all
Either buster needs to be locked up, or angel isn't a child, Which is, uh, way worse,
It would have been better if Buster was more of an abusive father figure to Angel, with him still being controlling and abusive to Angel without the pedophilia implications.
I think Angel is an adult because she looks more mature compared to Scamp and she sounds like an adult ( ik Scamp does but they always make male kids sound like adults)
Angel might be an adult since how has she been with 5 families and still a pup?

are we not going to talk about that lady only has a lack of screen time in this film? i mean she was the main protagonist from the first movie.
She was also voiced by Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in The Little Mermaid. I’d say it was a missed opportunity to have her sing more as well. So just underutilized on multiple levels.
She never even interacts with Scamp. She’s his mother 😣
At least she got more dialoge than Mrs Brisby in Timmy to the rescue.
@StickyBrickBuilder Well, at least Jodi Benson did a better job voicing Lady because for some reason now as an adult, Lady's original voice, Barbara Luddy, bothered me ever since..
@deathpixie777 Yeah, it's not fair especially because she's one of my favorite Disney characters growing up and it really disappointed me not seeing her have major roles in this dumb sequel. Every son needs a mother too, why does this movie have to focus on just Tramp and Scamp all the time? Lady should've done something like comfort Scamp after being yelled at by his jerk of a father or stepping in between the two and aggressively yell at Tramp that he was not helping Scamp, and only making him feel worse as her role as a mother to protect her son too instead of just sitting there doing nothing or even being like one of those cowardly mothers that can't stand up for others... or if there was another in-between scene with her and Tramp, I'd love to see her scold at Tramp that he shouldn't have been so rough with Scamp since he was just a pup, until Tramp lashes out on Lady too, making her cry a little...
Dog catchers in the first movie; scary, competent and smart.
The dog catcher here; Stupid and really annoying.
I found it less interresting that we saw all the adults in this movie. Most of them are ugly like the old lady who loose her wig and the dog catcher. If we didn't saw their faces, it would be cool like in the original 🙂
The movie is ok. I like the songs especially '' Family '' and '' Never had this feeling. '' They are cute, have positive messages and are entertaining. The action is fine, Angel is adorable and the most interresting character. It's alright, not as bad as Belle magical world or Hunchback of notre dame 2. Seriously, the animation is awful and the villain is lame. He's not intimidating or funny, all he wants is getting a giant bell that's it!
I hated the songs.... especially that 'Always There' song... it was a complete ripoff of that one song with the same name and meaning from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 5: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 I also grew up with. The TLBT song is better than this stupid sequel's version

Collette - wears a red 🔴 collar and has long ears
Annette - wears a blue 🔵 collar and has ears down to her shoulders
Danielle - wears a white ⚪ collar and has the shortest ears out of her sisters

I feel like I didn’t explain this the best in the video, but the fact that Buster is so obviously a bad guy but Scamp is so oblivious was the main thing I didn’t like about Buster’s role in the story.
I know he’s meant to be the villain and Scamp is meant to be impressionable, but still, the fact you can see it coming from a mile away (yet Scamp is STILL super surprised that Buster isn’t all he dreamed he would be) makes it feel very unrewarding as a viewer.
I guess maybe this movie is more for children than adults though…😅

since because he has like a wooing obsession over Angel or sm like that.
And also also, what really caught my attention was that I never knew that Tramp and Buster were once good friends with each other (or protégé) because when I saw Buster on a VHS cover with his sinister look, I thought in my mind he would be a good opponent for Tramp since I saw Tramp as a hero and Buster as a villain. In my mind, "Ooh dogfight! REALLY want to see that! 😃"

In my personal thoughts, Lady & the Tramp 2 is my favorite sequel to a Disney classic. Just felt that it was a good opportunity to see the legacy go on
Sorry but Scamps adventure is Not the worst Disney sequel not by a long shot as it has beautiful high quality animation great voice acting a memorable great soundtrack and a heartwarming ending all about Angel finding her forever home also the message about family comes off strong and tugs at your heart strings.
The only bad thing bad about the film is Buster as a character & lady not having a bigger role everything else about the film is just as good as lady & the tramp 1 I would even argue that Angel has more of a personality than Lady herself.
Honestly I think Fox & the hound 2 alongside Mulan 2 & Hunchback 2 was way worse also some of the sequels can be seen as better like Bambi 2 being better than the original as it gave Bambi better character development yeah I don't care if my opinion is unpopular I love at least half of the Disney Sequels they made before Iger ruined Disney.
A lot of the sequels were way better than What so called Disney is doing now with all the diverse woke political pushing pandering & awful live action Cgi Remakes which I would also argue ruin the original Classics way more than what the Sequels ever did as at least with the sequels they were more faithful to the source material.
Honestly I'm really sad that we won't ever get to see anymore 2D sequels again & most of the sequel characters are probably never coming back which feels like a huge waste & insult to fans.

And Yes I agree with you on Angel she was & still is the best thing about lady and the tramp 2 I wanted more of her backstory in the film and her to be a main character hopefully in more Disney media & merchandise done right she's my all time favourite Disney character and that's saying a lot.
I mostly like the moments with Scamp and Angel and the scene where Tramp saves his son Scamp from Bulldog Reggie. Buster disgusting me. My interesting Tramp and Buster rivalry
I loved this movie as a kid... makes me wonder what kind of mental gymnastics i did to explain the relationship between Angel and Buster. I guess i told myself scamp grew up to the mentality of an 18 y.o. between him leaving home, and joining the junk yard dogs. And i probably thought Buster was a sort of father figure to Angel.
I hate the movie but I agree with you that I thought Buster and Angel's relationship was more like a father's relationship with his daughter, which apparently Buster was being a total abusive harasser to Angel, she didn't deserve that

I always found buster and Angels relation so WEIRD!!!! Glad I wasn’t the only one…. Here’s how I rationalized as a child, I figured buster and Angel were 18, young but legal, and buster was just much older… or maybe 16, but rewatching it it really seems like they’re puppies…. How the heck did no one notice how creepy this is
I noticed how creepy and illegal it was... so I tried to change the perspective, like maybe Buster and Angel's relationship are like a father-and-daughter one which turns out to be manipulative and abusive

The hatred towards this film is ridiculous!! Why not direct that anger towards a Disney sequel that actually deserves it like Mulan 2 or even the live action Lady and The Tramp!!
I didn’t actually “hate” this film, it just didn’t keep me invested, sorry. And I haven’t seen Mulan 2 yet so I don’t know.
@@StickyBrickBuilder Understandable!! It may have some flaws that could have been improved but it is still a bit of guilty pleasure for me!! Also I still say this property should have an animated series as I would like to see more of these characters and what happens to them. I know it may never happen but i still think of Disney actually tried (though lately that’s questionable) it could possibly work. Hunchback 2 also blows!! The only reason that was made was because people were pissed Quasi and Esmeralda didn’t end up together at the end of the first film which may I remind all was never the point!!

I never had an issue with it!! I mean Dipper from Gravity Falls sounds like an adult despite being only 12 and I never hear anyone complain about that!!

Bruh, you're over exaggerating. This is not the worst movie or sequel whatever in the world. I always found this movie cute and heartwarming when I was a kid and still now that I'm 27 years old I still love it. Besides I can think of worst sequels than this.
I remember first seeing this in elementary/GRADE school,and I only saw the LAST few minutes of it,and when I rewatched the WHOLE thing,I REGRETTED every SECOND,of it. Because ever since,i have been spending MOST of my CHILDHOOD,boarding up that haunted house.

Hold one. its is not worse then Fox and the hound and its really isnt a bad film in my opinion. i mean i really like it. Although it has its things wrong with it but i think its underrated.

Scamp's Adventure may be flawed, but it is far from the worst. That distinction falls upon the dreaded *Mulan 2.*

Listen, I knew this sequel was going to be another terrible dog movie and since I disliked every disney sequel and iger itself. I don't hate this movie at all. More than drama and comedy, Angel is a beautiful dog and easily the best disney sequel character. The rest well, I like Scamp and his girlfriends, but Angel ifself. Way better than the sequel.
I'll keep saying it; If they had used the stories from the Scamp comics, the movie would be a thousand times better, there are so many things; Scamp saving Trusty from being taken to the dog pound because Si and Am took his collar (they wanted Scamp's but they got it wrong); Si and Am being caught by a man who wanted to sell them (or something like that); Adventures with his father or with characters like Toughy/Tuffy, Bull, Dachsie, Peg and Pedro, even Chiquita shows up! And Pedro's other sisters too! Dachsie has nephew!

I just said it was the worst one I have personally seen, but since I've actually at least moderately liked all the other Disney sequels that I've seen, that means that this movie doesn't even have to be THAT bad in order for me to call it the worst one (that I've seen).

@@StickyBrickBuilderUh let's see worst are, Little Mermaid 2, Tarzan 2, Little Mermaid 3, Fox and the Hound 2, and Bambi 2. Those can go in the bin. Not this though. Other ones that shouldn't go in the bin are Lion King 2, Lion King 1/2, Return of Jafar, and Stitch has a Glitch.
@@bryanferratt6598 I actually kinda liked The Fox and the Hound 2 and Bambi 2 (to an extent). As I said in the video, The Little Mermaid 2 had a very similar (and preventable) story to Lady and the Tramp 2. I haven't seen the other movies though.
the worst movie period. so bad that i wouldn't even consider it canon to the original. the original has such elegance and opulence to it, this is just dog water.

I love Angel, except when she was being all naggy towards Scamp like she's his mother or something. Why couldn't she see what kind of bullcrap Scamp's family put him into? Especially because his own father kept his street life past a secret from him, that really took a toll of their relationship and because of that, Scamp really didn't want to go home with the dog he thought he could trust and look up to... Angel should've understand what it felt like to be in Scamp's paws, like how her former families mistreated her and worse, abandoned her

I love the part with the FBI because nowadays, that is what they're like if you say something offensive to them in any way. Also, every Disney sequel I've seen stinks with few exceptions.

Um, are you aware that the Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 exists.
And call me crazy if you want, but this movie is arguably better than the first Lady and the Tramp. I am definitely biased because I saw this one years before I ever watched the first one.
But i also have many reasons regarding the qualities.
1. Action/ Family >>> Drama/Romance, so the first movie is simply not appealing to me, but this movie has a plot more relatable and has more action.
2. This movie has better songs. A World Without Fences is relatable, Junkyard Society is catchy and exciting, and Always There is actually touching imo. Meanwhile, the songs in the first movie are dull and boring, except for the iconic romance song, but again, I don't care for romance.
3. This movie has an actual villain. Sure, he's not the greatest in writing, and it is bad that he wasn't mentioned in the 1st movie, but he's still a better villain than a stupid rat.
4. This movie carries a great message that family life with love is always better than a life on the streets with "freedom" but without love and care. The first movie doesn't even have a message. I do have to agree with you though about how stupid it was that Tramp didn't just tell Scamp about his old life when he had the chance in the backyard.
I think the best way to summarize my opinion is that this movie is kind of a bad sequel, but putting that aside, it's a better movie on its own.

I do kinda hate this film too, But that film would have been better if Lady was back to being the main character, because she is after all the most charming dog ever to be a main protagonist of the OG film.

To Me I Like Child's Play 2 Is Better Then Lady And The Tramp 2 Scamp's Adventures
I hate horror movies but I'm glad we both agree that we never liked 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 2 here
I am so glad I'm not the only one who finds this waste of a sequel a bunch of dog CRAP! Why do I hate it, you might ask? Well, I'm so glad you did because here are my list of reasons that are mostly how it's reviewed here:
- The songs in the movie were horrible especially ‘Always There’ because I believed that Disney ripped that off of the song with the same name and meaning from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 5: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, which I recall was the first TLBT movie I saw ever since I was a kid, and I loved it’s version of ‘Always There’ better than this sequel’s version
- I hated Scamp’s, Angel’s, and Tramp’s voices in this sequel…Scamp and Angel are puppies and I was expecting them to be voiced by kids-it would’ve been better if actors like Brandon LaCroix (speaking) and Thomas Dekker (singing ‘A World without Fences’) could’ve voiced Scamp and Anndi McAfee could’ve voiced Angel, I hate their original voices. And Larry Roberts, and even Justin Theroux, voiced Tramp waaaaaaaaay better than Jeff Bennett
- Poor Lady, her daughters, Jock, and Trusty barely had any roles in this film..and Lady is one of my favorite Disney characters ever. At least I loved how Jodi Benson voiced her unlike Barbara Luddy who voiced her in the first movie, that Lady voice bothered me ever since..
- Tramp and Jim Dear were too harsh on poor Scamp. It wasn’t all his fault he wrecked up the house, it was the baby’s fault! How are those people and dogs too blind to see that they were just playing?!
- I believed Scamp ran away from home because as I said, his family was too harsh, and their harshness angered and triggered him real bad so he needed fresh air and a brisk walk to cool himself down until he was ready enough to go back home.
- How the heck did the creators make a 50-year-old (Buster) fall in love with a teenage girl (Angel)?! That is unacceptable! So, I still think on the contrary, maybe Buster’s relationship with Angel is like a father’s relationship with his daughter, which apparently wasn’t a good one.
- Tramp kept his street dog days a secret from his own kids, and Scamp was torn and upset from what he had heard from Buster and the other junkyard dogs. Parents, you should NEVER hide secrets from your kids otherwise, they might not trust you anymore. - There’s too much yelling in this film, especially during Tramp and Scamp’s argument at home and in that alley scene where poor Scamp was having a mental breakdown because he was being like a rope and Tramp and Buster were tugging on each end of the rope like a tug-o-war to see who will win Scamp first. I thought Scamp wanted to stay away from his father for a while until Tramp apologizes for being too hard on him, and keeping his street life before he met Lady a secret from him for years.
- I love Angel, except when she yelled at Scamp after he left Tramp for Buster, who does she think she is? Scamp’s mother? She should’ve minded her own business especially because she doesn’t even know him! And that scene reminded me too much of how a very pissed and whiny Lady yelled at poor Tramp in the original film, I hated that scene so much, and I still do
- I love how they’ve redone the spaghetti scene but all of that changed when Scamp and Angel began to eat like little beasts, and that’s when I thought….”Yeeeeeeah, I’d take it back. Tramp and Lady’s spaghetti dinner date was better..”
- The dogcatcher in this sequel was CRAZY! Especially the way he captured Scamp
And finally..
- Poor Scamp had to take a bath at the end of this film…I’ve always felt bad for him.
So, yeah, those are my opinions of why I hated ‘Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure’ for SOOOOOOOOOOOOO long, please don’t hate me for that but that’s just my opinion on the movie honestly, and today, I’m still fighting to forget about that movie forever but it isn’t easy, you know? It’s so hard to forget a movie, especially a Disney one!
Mullan 2 Pocahontas 2 and the hunchback of notreadame 2 are the worst
