Can use a large round socket with a rubber mallet to gently tap that seal in if you want to
What is the name of that pry tool that you used? I tried removing the gasket with a thin flat screw driver and just couldn’t take it off.
Thnxs!
Glad it helped👍
If you just turn the sensor 90 degrees it comes right out
Did you have a fault code as well ?
Hey sorry for the late reply. I did not have a fault code for it at all. I suspect if you do have a code for it then you likely have a sensor that already got damaged. Either way it’s worth trying to clean the connector with electronics cleaner and such if oil got in there to see if it helps
Why would you have a fault code for an oil leak?
@@GeorgeAusters I just replaced my eccentric shaft sensor because oil leaked from the gasket. This damaged the sensor and I got a fault code which lead me to it. Removing the valve cover is not fun. Hope you don't have to do this repair
@@jequitygroup4108 I'll be doing valve cover gasket on my channel very soon :)
@@GeorgeAusters I had the pleasure of having to do it twice because the first time the gasket didn't seal all the way. Then lucky me the ccv breather hose that connects to the rear of the valve cover broke. I had to order the part and remove the intake manifold. Its fine now. Thank goodness it is not my daily driver !
