Well I got to pull the top of the motor off of this thing all because I cant keep my hands off of it. Im going to go ahead and freshing it up along side some goodies. Thanks for watching.
I would have done a compresion test before I tore it down then you could have made a more informed decision as to weather to re hone the jug or change piston and rings.I would also measure the bore for sure before it is put back together.Maybe this will help future viewers. Thanks for the vid.I have same machine.
In my opinion theirs nothing better then a stock oem top end even if it has 5000 miles. If it's not smoking ticks or knocking leave it till it does. Don't create a problem that isn't their
the last i heard the 88 cam is something in between a big red cam and stock it probably wont give you a noticeable gain but its worth doing if you already have it sitting around
TheHondaOutlaw Yea I'm contemplating now as if I should just go all out and send in my 3 cores on a 459 and do a High Compression Build again. It's kind of stupid but I have a addiction
Personally i would because if you actually want a gain to notice a 459 and hc would be the way to go or even the 317 and 459 its all your time and money but if i was considering the 459 and piston i would do the 317 kit that travis sells its got plenty of power.
TheHondaOutlaw Yea but you got to see where I'm coming from. I would totally do all that in a heartbeat but it's tuff when I still have a good piston and jug, and I don't need more power for my set up and 54%.
i understand i didnt really need anymore power for my setups with either 31 wides or 32s than a overbored 317 (321) and 459 BUT i wanted it im not a fan of stock engines they just arent snappy enough for me so it wouldn't bother me much
