    This is so close to my heart. My nana abbu migrated from amritsar. He died in 2008 and before his death , everday and many times during a day (for 6 months ) he used to tell us stories of amritsar, about his home , his family, relatives and his home address of amritsar. I was a teenager that time and used to think that I will never ever forget the address, but now i dont remember it. I regret it greatly of not writing it down that time. My dada abbu too migrated from jalandhar and i was always thinking how come they left their homes, their ancestral place where all their loved ones are buried, how they got the courage. Now this video sums it all . Thank you for sharing. I really wish to visit india one day. I hope one day both countries will move on and have open borders

    Very nice presentation by the Elderly Gentleman.. Whenver I hear those sad/painful partition stories, I feel, Partition was a disastrous decision. If it was compelling - then a time line (of 6-8 months for re-location) should have been given and that would have saved millions of precious lives. Dividing and declaring immediately was what lead to such large scale violence

    Mr. Zakariya has not given the reason behind Hindu water and Muslim water, which was because Hindus in Punjab/UP/MP/Rajasthan were mainly #vaishnavites vegetarian/did #not eat beef, whereas Muslims were mainly non-vegetatian and #ate beef. That's why the utensils were different.
    In areas where Hindus were Shaivites non-vegetarian (such as Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala) there was no such problem, except that Hindus would only eat vegetarian food when invited by Muslims because of fear of being served 'beef'

    Myself a retired Lecturer from Eastern Punjab Education Department, Since my Pry.and even Middle classes,Untouchability against lower sections of Hindu ,Sikh and Muslim Community was dominant ,later ,the situation improved with the passage of time.It was, perhaps, I think due to their lower professions and moreover their eating trends like Slaughtering Cows etc. This was the main cause root of quarrel between Hindus Sikhs versus Muslims .

    • @mahinderpal9404
      @mahinderpal9404 Рік тому

      @Mian tech There no specific reason that only Muslims are targeted everywhere , people of other religions and communities are also being targeted by one way or the other just to keep Dominance of one Particular Community over the other,so, brother,in order to live with communal harmony,giving due respect to the feelings and beliefs of one community to other is the need of the hour,here,the word Slaughtering of cows is quoted just only for example not to hurt your feelings.

    good that partition happened, in hindsight it was a good decision. still so many poor and uneducated muslims chose to stay back, though the entire upper and middle class moved to Pakistan. many did not have the money to buy a rail ticket to Pakistan. and some were close to their ancestors' properties and graves in UP/CP/Bihar, 3 brothers moved and 1 stayed back in lucknow to take care of property; for many in UP/CP/Bihar, Pakistan was like a desert where camels ran.

    With due respect sir there were such things that time but it wasn't due to hate but food choice what I have heard. Muslims and Dalits used to eat non veg foods and butcher animals which non-muslims and non dalits didn't do that time. So there were such issues as non muslim faith restricts non veg and blood etc. Now people are educated and the Indian constitution and laws avoid such things. Anyways I loved hearing you ❤️ from India.

If we go back a thousand years from today think of the status of women in society, cast , religious division etc. That time there was monarchy and societies were divided basis the class/cast etc for eg: King used to be Rajpoot, Brahmins were in education, While other cast were in service which made them make low progress and yes social bias were there. Now we are no more ruled by King so all rules are based constitution and things are equal for everyone. Mentally it takes centuries to get rid of such bloody things 😀
