my favorite car of all time. you have quite a rare one with that factory green and beige interior. yours is also in amazing shape with no rust! i would encourage you to look after it and keep it. much better than anything new today.
You got a really good deal on a really good little vehicle. I got an 03 for my granddaughter last year. It had 239,000 on it. For yours, grills, bumper covers, and other parts are everywhere and inexpensive, since the CR-V is basically the best-selling small SUV ever. The SRS light is probably dirty seat belt buckles. You have to pop them open and clean the microswitches with some contact cleaner and a small brush. There's videos on YT. Oh, and did you check to see if you still have the picnic table under the trunk mat? That was a novel idea by Honda. BTW: I checked the live data on it the other day - Long Term Fuel Trim: 0.0! Incredible on such an old engine.
Awesome! I was actually Able to borrow a Snap-On scan tool from a local shop in my area and the SRS code came back to the weight sensor for the passenger seat. I cleared the code out and it hasn’t come back since! One of the guys there said it can happen if you transport heavy objects in the passenger seat 🤷♂️ Also mine does not have the picnic table still, but I was able to find a decent one at a pick n pull in my area
I just bought a 2005 EX AWD with a 5 speed manual transmission. Car has almost 203k. One owner car. Clean title, no accidents and no rust! Meticulously maintained since new! I love it!
@@mds2465 12 hour day of towing, that started at 2am. But it's home, and process begins. It's a 1 owner, but an SF Bay Area Commuter, so it's just had the bag run off it.
Great content, your voice want over the top and your knowledge kept me to know more. Don't even have this car, i stumbled onto this vid and had to subscribe. Can't wait to see some of your mods and updating. Great job man and where/how you only pay that price is there a website 😮
That’s a steal man! I paid much more for mine because it ran good and the paint and body was good, but I ended up having to get a lot of things repaired or replaced. With the money you save you’ll have money for any repairs. I do love mine. There is a recall on the air bags that a dealer will replace for free. Check with them.
This suv is one. Reliable truck is got power more the over price trucks with some many problems I use my for 5 years and if you keep with maintenance is trouble free fun to drive.....
solid car I do wish you the best of luck. I have two of them right now the first one I bought was in a collision and honestly it was only good for like a year before a lot of things started to fall apart so now personally I try to avoid a car that has had any major impact regardless of the brand.
That’s definitely a smart decision. This CR-V is no longer mine but is still in my family and hasn’t given us any issues so far. I made sure that none of the damage was structural before I bought it because that always will cause issues no matter what.
I love this car and i own it too. very good quality car and should run for ever so don't be too ancious if its like over 200 000m i have the one with the manual transmission, and i had to change the clutch. I have never done anythyng that serious on a car before myself but proceded to change the clutch myself any way. at first i didn't think i would make it but i did it and it wasn't really that hard, just when you do these things you don't give up and if you dont give up you will be able to fix it. other than the clutch this car has been on the road problem free for over 2 years i have owned it. mine has soon gone 300 000km and runs perfectly. and this car is still very easy to work on if anything is to break, the one hardest thing to change on this car is the starter, i say it was easier to remove the gearbox than the starter itself lol 🤣 On my recomendations = buy this car that runs on gas either with the automatic or manual gear box as both of them are just as good. i don't remember what problem the diesel one had or if it was a minor or a majore issue.
the SRS light is from the recall for the airbags. there is a YT video that shows how to disable the light with a paper clip. This is what I did and it never came back on
In my experience parts are still readily available for these vehicles. Honda used that same K24 based engine in their cars up until very recently. One of the best things about owning one of these old Hondas is just how easy they are to repair and how cheap the parts are.
@@zfunk9 I would say maybe it would be worth taking it to a mechanic and getting it checked out. Anything less than 20mpg on these makes you wonder why.

@@slushboxer I certainly hope so, considering how much I’ve done thus far in terms of upkeep
I'm buying an '05 EX AWD with 5spd tomorrow. Taking a little road trip to get, and bring it back on a trailer because it's a non-runner. Stoked.
@@austinado16 awesome hopefully we’ll be seeing a video on that one in the foreseeable future

Solid car. Literally like Honda’s version of a Rav-4. Also I dig the dash mat. Forgot you added that
EBrake is actually a genious design..
Very nice review of car. Nice deal you got
So many memories in this car. i drive a silver one
My 99 has 253k miles and my 04 has 330k miles. They are great little machines.
Every SUV is boring to drive, including the Macan. This is an incredible value of a car, nothing can touch it.
It’s been a great vehicle for us. Super amazing value for the money
I got a 55 plate with the 2.2 diesel in honestly didnt want it but didnt have alot of choice but its turning out to be quite a good little run about
I bought mine 04 crv ex with 104k mile,😢$4600
That’s good. I just bought mine LX 2004 Manual 178k for $4500 & I’m satisfied.
I’m buying a 2004 CRV - EX with 106K miles tomorrow. $6000
That’s a steal man!

Yeah, recall is free i did my 04 last month at the dealership.
I’ll have to look into that, thanks!
Nice find
That's one tough machine right there ..
They just run forever

Did the hood mask come with the CRV or did you buy it? If so where?

I agree that Honda makes great vehicles that last a long time. I’ll have to post an update on this car soon
you should look into cross climate2 tires..
how dare you say that is a weird car the crv is legendary
It is legendary. We still have the one in the video in my family and hasn't let us down yet. Great car all year round with that AWD too.

I was able to scan the code with an autel scanner at an auto shop and it came back to the passenger seat weight sensor
My srs light disappeared . I used a sticker over the dash. ..forgot it's even there 😂
Can u send me video link I have same car 4x4 automatic
I plan to get one of these n lift it a bit with bigger wheels
I thought about doing that myself. They’re actually surprisingly good off-road for what they are, hasn’t let me down
Still have the table
Are parts hard to get a hold of? LookIng at 2006..fwd

I own this one, unfortunately there is no AWD variant in my country…
Aw man! It's probably more efficient on the street though
also if one tire is unrepairable and theres prior wear..you have to replace all 4 tires.
How to activate 4x4
It is always in 4x4, but it can send more power to the rear wheels if it detects wheel slippage. The whole system is automatic though.

peanut butter gut, lol, hip hop reference..i would live in this car. if I had it when I was a boy I would have gotten so many asian chicks in sf..
lol
Overall, a dirty vehicle. Hope it is clean at this time though. Mine is clean and cut. (jk)
It ain’t cheap.
The gas consumption is really bad
Really? I average about 24-25mpg which is pretty good for an older suv
@@slushboxer same in my 2013 crv
Our 2005 can’t get over 17mpg. Usually 15-17mpg, usually go about 190 miles before having to put in around 12 gallons.
