This laptop is very easy to work on I bought one on ebay with coffee spill was running really slow and ricked of coffe had to tear it all down the mother board Gave it all a thorough wash in warm running water this machine works like new now. And by the way it was my first premium laptop and my first time doing it require patience..

Incredible detail. Thank you for this tutorial. I have the HP Pavilion 15-cc665cl. It came with a 1tb HDD. I want to swap it out with a 240SSD that I have laying around. Not to mention the 855u hit 97c and I thought It might benefit from a thermal past swap. Now I feel confident that I can do it.
Did you replace the 1tb HDD with the SSD? I'm looking to do the same.

Maybe the HDD wasn't really designed for laptop use? I know of some HDDs, escpecially of external USB harddrives, which use to get annoying hot when running. I wouldn't like missing my 1TB HDD alongside with my 256 M.2 SSD ;) (... only thinking of collecting photos and other media, the single SSD will be filled far too quickly, I think ... I know!)
Good to hear, I bought one of the Pavilion 15 cs series and replaced the 1tb HDD with a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. It has made is big difference. It’s much faster now.

great information on how to open and replace. our hdrive on the cc023cl lost its boot sector and would not come up removing the drive to salvage the data. then will factory reset and reload the data i pulled off

Thanks for sharing. An Improvement could be to show the upper side/label of EACH disassembled Item in a sharply focused picture (freeze-frame) - as you've done well with the RAM module.

I recently replace the 1TB spinning rust drive in a brand new HP 17-by021dx for a friend (He had unused 500GB SSD). While I had it open I looked all over for the M.2 slot I had been told it has. HP's docs refer to it but give no indication where it is located in the computer. Alas now that I have your seen you video I know where it was located. Can you also share any observation on heating issues in the HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb052tx model ? i am seeing the CPU cores are easily hitting 60~70C if 14 chrome tabs are open and 1 of them has contstant video streaming. the right hand palm rest is just above the CPU/GPU and is uncomfortable. Any observations from Techstore ? also , the exhaust fan outlet is facing the lower bezel of the display
the issue is because of wrongly placed air vents. use a cooling pad
I have the 15-cc665cl same designed case. My 8550u hit 97c earlier today. I'm going to swap out the thermal compound on the processor thanks to this vid. Wonder if it was because the lid when not tilted back restricts airflow. Hmm...

I have asked to HP cutomer support and they said that there is NO SLOT for SSD.
So we have to remove dvd writer and then ssd can be installed .

There is an option to install an ssd but your warranty will expire 😢
But we are not broking the Seal on Laptop , we are just removing DVD writer and putting SSD in place of it , so still it will make our warranty to be expire ??
