Hey everyone. Regarding the switch back to AMD. I didn't use the 9000 series yet because we don't have the 9900 or 9950 yet, and those chips are going to be used for testing for a while. But I'm excited to see how they perform.
Also if you see the "Universe is Unlicensed" message we don't know why that appeared in the export, our license is current and logged in at time of export, I don't feel that message is worth taking down and reuploading.
    🤦🏻‍♂️
Edit! I was able to get 6000mhz RAM working fine actually. Since filming this video I noticed that the "auto" FCLK was setting to 1733mhz. Once manually setting it to 2000 and 1:1 it worked great. I have no idea why the Gigabyte bios doesn't default to a 1:1 but it's working now

AMD spinoff it's fab to become fabless and bought ATI to compete with nVidia. Intel has had lots of fab issues over the years so they will be using TSMC while they catch up.

@@jonduke4748 EVGA announced in September 2022 that it would no longer manufacture graphics cards, citing several reasons for this decision:
      1. **Disagreements with NVIDIA**: EVGA had a long-standing partnership with NVIDIA, but there were reports of strained relations. EVGA's CEO, Andrew Han, mentioned issues related to NVIDIA's pricing policies, lack of transparency, and perceived unfair treatment as reasons for the decision.
      2. **Profit Margins**: EVGA stated that the profit margins on their graphics card business had become too thin. Despite the high demand for GPUs, particularly during the cryptocurrency mining boom, EVGA felt that the financial returns were not sustainable.
      3. **Business Focus**: EVGA decided to focus on other product lines, such as power supplies, motherboards, and other components. This strategic shift aims to ensure the company's long-term viability and success in markets where they see better opportunities for growth and profitability.

My comment was highlighting and enticing people to avoid a brand loyalty mentality by going with whatever service/goods provider best satisfies their needs at the time. Specifically, if that changes to not feel ashamed of switching to something else, and further, to celebrate when people that have some semblance of sway with those organizations start to put pressure on them to do better. If you're just reiterating that point then sweet, and if you misinterpreted then sorry I wasn't more clear.

That being said, they've also highlighted how ridiculous the numbers are when putting out content that steers towards drama. So they're sort of stuck between not addressing and being called a shill, or addressing it (still being called a shill) and at least alerting customers to potential product drawbacks while cashing in at the same time. For one, it has to do with the CPU you get. The X3D are very fickle when it comes to their memory controller.

Although I get the feeling it might be due to one of two possibilities:
1: The Crucial memory he's using. No offense intended to Crucial, but I definitely wouldn't have used those because Crucial exclusively use Micron dies. Micron dies are known to probably be the worst choice for DDR5 this generation. You really want to have Hynix M dies on Ryzen DDR5, but I even would've accepted Samsung dies at CL36 over Micron. I don't mean to rag on Micron, because it's a generally good company for a lot of products. They just missed the mark with their DDR5 this time around.
2: If that's the same CPU Jay used before he switched to Intel (which it sounds like it is), he originally complained that the memory issues he had with that CPU became worse over time, the more he used it. During that same time that it came out that motherboards, especially Asus, which is what Jay originally used, were pushing way too much voltage to the SOC which was physically damaging CPUs. So I'm kind of wondering if Jay actually completely managed to dodge damage being dealt to his CPU during that time frame or if his CPU is "functional" but actually faulty. As he said, he originally hit 6000Mhz, but his system stability got worse over time until he couldn't hit it anymore. That description sounds like it could be possible degradation damage over time. So I wonder if he still wouldn't be able to 6000Mhz if he tried a new 7950X3D that was never used while that SOC damage event was ongoing.

They're 5600C36 kits (which POST and pass TM5/Y-Cruncher at their XMP profiles), just bumped VDD to 1.4v and tightened timings from there. Also not sure why Jay always seems to have cursed memory compatibility, but it shouldn't be too hard to get it running at 6000MT with minor adjustments.
Going straight to -30 PBO CO on a dual CCD part is also a pretty bad idea. It's almost certainly not stable, and it'll either crash on OCCT Core Cycler ST rotation, Y-Cruncher or during desktop idle. If you're going to OC, do it right.

My only AMD unit is an R9-5950X. My next computer that I am ordering parts for right now, is an AMD R9-7900X/9900X (I'm waiting for 9000 release to see which I'll go), ASUS X670E, 192GB, RTX3080. I'm going AMD this time, because I don't care what anyone says, the Intel 13900/14900 are 8-Core processors, and I need more cores. E-Cores are for laptops, not production systems. If Intel actually releases and supports Battlemage, then I'll put together an all Intel system for that, but I'll probably go X299 instead of 15th Gen (especially after what 13/14 Gen has done). INTEL in my view all the fails are on Asus motherboards. Servers W680 all Asus.
      Motherboard Brands:
      Asus 65% made in China.
      Asrock 4% (parent company Asus)
      Gigabyte 14% made in China/Taiwan
      MSI 14% made in China/Taiwan
China has their fingers on almost all of the motherboards. Asus as the biggest. Asus alone control almost 70%.
      Servers/CPU's:
      INTEL 70.9%
AMD 20.5%. Both are U.S companies.
      ARM 8.1% British company.
      CPU Market Share Q2 2023:
      INTEL 83%
      AMD 17%
Does make me think there is something political going on and beyond. MSI MB's seem to have good record keeping the CPU working. Just not so long ago it was AMD that was melting on Asus boards pushing people to INTEL.
