I hope not. The most they'll do for the CABAL HOMEWORLD is gonna be 1 small map with four separate areas that are connected with tiny roads. You know? The ass map design they do with every planet?
I feel like it would be a great way to close Empress Caiatl's arc if she was the one to deliver Xivu Arath's true death. The Empress and her Cabal has had everything taken away from them by the Hive, lost her military to in-fighting and lost her home world to a blood-thirsty god. Leaving her no choice, she was forced to side with old enemies and now, those allies are going to help her land the killing blow.
Narratively, I really like Caiatl landing a fatal blow, but I fear that if we don't get the last bullet, destiny players would riot haha. I can practically hear the comments now.
I love that the Cabal unknowingly name themselves after Hive words. Caiatal is the reverse aiat, literally having the opposite definition as Umun Arath explains. And Umun Arath was named by soldiers for a part of Cabal mythology concerning wars that ended civilizations, deriving her name from the Hive God of War herself.
@@Cassady1AndOnly I interpreted the lore as the star being named AIAT, because it's in Caiatl's name: C-aiat-l. I'm not sure what the parent comment means by Caiatl is the reverse Aiat, that's not what I understood
@@CobraSnatch You are correct, it doesn't mention being the "reverse" at all, it just CONTAINS the word aiat. But OP is still mostly correct. Cabal have known of the Hive for so long they are woven into their very culture and mythologies.
I understood the OXA machine to be TAOX as a Psion version of an EXO. Where they used their psychic abilities to Capture her mind and place it in a machine of some sort either at her behest so she could live forever or against her will on the orders/influence of Nezerac as a form of torture to trap her for eternity, which if true would no doubt drive her Insane and go some way to explain the comment about OXA being a "Mad Machine"
I could also see this as similar to the situation with Asher Mir and others absorbed by the vex but still showing some independence, and would explain a lot of the 'prediction engine' talk around OXA. Taox could have had vast amounts of information that the vex wanted to keep and use for predictions, and in doing so may have ended up preserving enough that there was still some personality preserved.
I was thinking, can't psions create nightmare dimensions and banish people to them? Isn't that something from the old leviathan raids? If Teox learned to do that, could she banish herself to a nightmare realm in her own mind? That would be almost like having an ascendant plane, and could explain how she vanished from the hive at some point and was never found. That would make the OXA machine a method of communicating with her like a kind of oracle. She's very old and has seen hundreds of civilizations, and with psionic power she may be able to "scry" far-off events, combining for the "prophecy" aspect. She'd also probably be driven insane by her own recursive hellscape and/or isolation, hence the "mad machine" bit.
You mean the story of the hive. Destinys Story about light and dark is a lil more complex then a soap opera (witnesses origin and its struggle for porpous is not that soapy of a plot
What if, and hear me out here, Taox is the originator of the vex in attempting to keep records? Convened with the darkness in an attempt to make the technology, and now unrecognizable, they meet the Hive and deduce the sword logic, Asher Mir is now investigating the Vex in an attempt to access these records, and explains why the technology is so interchangeable and accessible by Psions, with their origins being a people intertwined with the darkness through psychic connection.. Basically, Taox would tie together ALOT of storylines if she were to be the one who accidentally originated the Vex unintentionally. It would also explain why the predictive power exists and give the Vex the motive to travel time and find the universe where they win.
I just want to point out that we all pointed and laughed at the wq promotion where the one bungies member called Caitl "Caiyatahl" which we knew wasn't how to pronounce it... But this writing just proves that if her name was to use Aiat "Aiyat" then that individual basically told us her name's original relation to the hive all those years ago...
I like a lot of what I heard here and really hope we get TAOX in the future. Also happy to see you slightly behind the retaking Torabatl theory. Just seems like a natural next step be it in Heresy or the first post Final Shape expansion. If/When it happens I hope we also see the other Cabal races we haven't really been given a look at yet.
Honestly, i dont want it to happen. Are you seriously telling me that taox, a krill who got the mother morph, got to live for millions of years? When krill were considered ancient at 10? We dont even know how much longer she got to live thanks to the mother morph. It could be up to 15 for all that we know.
@@joaorugeri9885 hi, just came here to say that “TaOx” is actually a highly conductive metal oxide. Oddly enough in particular Silver. This silver oxide is used in real life in fields of light processing and data storage. Curious huh? But Bungie would never hide clues to the story in plain sight would they? 😏 Gosh I wonder what Fenchurch has been doing with all that silver we give him……
@@xCobraCommanderxi do believe that taox has at least something to do with the oxa machine. What i cant accept is that she would be alive up until present day.
@@joaorugeri9885 didn't taox go into stasis or cryogenic sleep or something when running from the hive on one of the more technologically advanced species planets? I feel like i remember that from the books of sorrow. Who says she couldn't do it again. Or something else. Space magic. Cyborg krill. There could be a million answers to this.
I think taox is going the be the main focus, or at least a focus and power player, of the heresy chapter. She’s been built up to for so long, she deserves a reveal on par with Nezarec. Too bad his raid was too easy. She’ll probably get introduced in echos and get built upon over the next year until we finally face Xivu in a final stand
OR she’s trapped on torobotal and will be discovered when we eventually go there, maybe in echos. Would make sense that she tried to warn the Cabal of Xivus invasion but was captured by either A the Cabal during the war for their planet or B by the witness, because she would’ve been very useful in us upsetting the witness and the hive gods plans
To me, The OXA machine and the FWC Mind-Fork bear many similarities, both offering glimpses into the past, likely via Vex Simulation, but also offering insight into the future through the same method, and recalling the Insight Terminus strike, the last two being to access the Vex record on the OXA machine were Maya Sundaresh and Otzot, and knowing now that Lakshmi-2 was an Exo of Maya, I feel this theory has gained a bit more substance
My crazy theory is that the OXA machine Is part Vex in origin, and If the OXA machine and Taox are linked what if Taox was assimilated by the Vex? and her Knowledge and conciousness is locked inside the OXA machine?
Most likely he isn’t coming back, but I would’ve loved to see how Rasputin would’ve aided the Cabal in reclaiming Torobaital. Either way, we’ll need to be wary of Savathun. With the Witness most likely knocked off the board, along with Xivu and Oryx, not many will be able to content aginst Savathun for complete sovereignty over the Hive. Then again, there’s the Worm Gods that could be a problem later.
I think Rapsutins' return has been foreshadowed, based on the fact that his original design was that of an exo. In Season of the Saraph, we saw Rasputins mind get transfered into an exo's body, and over the course of the season, we saw him become fully sentient. He then sacrificed himself to save the traveler, checking all of the boxes for him to possibly become a guardian. I would not be surprised if he's the next dead character to return as a guardian.
There is no way you didn’t mention Otzot as a major psion character at the end. As someone who successfully rebuilt the OXA machine she would have a major part to play in it coming into the narrative. She also has motive to resist Caiatl, since originally she resisted Psion liberation due to the status of being a “freeborn psion.” Additionally I also think that the potential interaction of the last true Osmium sibling, Xivu Arath, fighting out Taox is still around in some way is too juicy to not pursue.
The only thing that bugs me about the whole Torabatl, Caiatl and Xivu, Taox and Oxa/Oxta is that Caiatl, or anyone else in the lore for that matter, is that Umun'arath is a very hive name. Doubly so considering Caiatl asked Umun'arath what her name means and she says: My parents were soldiers. They know mythology too. I dont know if Byf has covered this already, but its weird that it is not even talked about, considering Umun'arath was very much the reason Torobatl fell.
I am sure this has been mentioned (probably even on this channel), but I wonder if Taox is the "heirloom" Savathun mentioned in the lore. Savathun having a thing that others would want just to have it until it is useful would be in character for her.
It might also be worth noting that the Shadow Legion could become an independent faction after the Witness is defeated or taken over by the Free Psions.
hey byf, i know what im asking for is wild af cause i know the amount of effort and time you put into the last one, but do u ever think you would do another whole of destiny story video? or at least what would be the continuation of the last one you made, everyday at work i listen to the last one all the time, i love the in depth detail you gave in that video as well as the illustrations, it would be really awesome if you ever have any plans to do another video like that for the most recent lore after witch queen
Since that dev posted art of the veil and said that it holds the memory of the universe, I've thought that the veil and oxa/oxta could somehow be connected. Don't think I've seen anyone else bring that up. Anyone else think that's possible?
Could the oracle device used by the FWC be tied to the oxta machine? The insight terminus mentions maya sundaresh as someone who accessed the oxta, and who we now know Lakshmi-2 was a brain clone of, so she could have based the design for the fwc one off of it, or it could just be it. The fwc machine was said to cause people to go "mad" just as the oxta was described as "mad ravings".
This may seem like an obvious point, but considering the Krill have short lifespans and Taox didn’t obtain paracausality like the Ozmium trio did, Taox could just have died of old age. Then again, putting oneself in a device of some kind to achieve immortality to a degree is something that the Hive can do (Exhibit A: Oryx and Touch of Malice, Exhibit B: Whisper of the Worm, etc). It stands to reason that Taox did something similar by becoming the OXA machine as a method of prolonging their life well beyond the normal lifespan of a Krill.
I am really hoping that moving Beyond the heliopause is on the docket 😅 The next three episodes, post Final Shape, have such a huge potential to open up access to other systems, planets, and galaxies beyond the reef, beyond the Jovians. And a chock ton of stories. Honestly, with the fact that the OXA machine has been referenced as far back as vanilla Destiny 2, the idea of Taox returning is as tangible as SIVA potentially returning. But, I believe the different between the two is that Taox hasn't "technically" been in-game of Destiny's story. Potentially it is possible, and such a strong story. We have Ahsa now, so this also gives us a link to potentially finding survivors from other races, or even Ahamkara.
Imagine a common enemy that Savathun and Xivu would both gladly help destroy 😂. I feel like this was left open for a very interesting conclusion before the saga ends!
You know, did we ever establish if the Krill lifeline was measured in Earth years or Fundament years? That could make their small lifelines seem a lot longer than they sound under the right conditions.
I hope whatever the next saga is Is like a "Reclamation" saga Where we go about reclaiming the Home worlds of our allies Lile Torobatl and Ris Either that or something to do with the Vex cause damm have they been ignored
Wait hold on, what ever DID end up being in the core of the sundial? There was this really great, mysterious build up about something crazy being in the core, but I'm not sure if we ever got an answer
So dude to the wording of Eris morns speech it seems that she effectively banned her from throne worlds, if the wording is correct she said. “‘You have been banished now and forever”’ when eris made that curse/final blow she was the most powerful hive to ever exist making her word basically law, just how oryx did the same when he made the tithing rules.
i just realised, sava thun bascially made it so that she is only hive god that still has her throne world lol, xivu was banished from her's, and eris just lost her powe i guess
If Taox makes an appearance in the Lore, then Bungie really needs to explain who the "WANTED: Osmium Traitor" Wizard was in the Savathun's Song Strike. To me, that Wizard was Bungie killing off Taox.
I can't imagine Bungie would kill off such a fundamentally important character by plopping her into a strike as an unnamed, non-boss character. She's been the mortal enemy of the Hive since before the Hive even existed, there's no way she would just be some random wizard chilling around on titan.
Bungie needs to explain how she’s survived so long. Being a mother, that’s stated in the lore how she’s had a longer lifespan than most Krill did. But, she still wouldn’t have survived centuries. Maybe she had gone into hiding, waiting to claim power after we’ve killed off all the Hive Gods and Worm Gods?
Following the themes and idea of this season where the hive operate by trapping each other into unwinnable scenarios to feed their power, what if we flip the concept on its head. I think a good way to approach it would be to say that the Taox that is potentially used in the OXTA is merely a vex construct or a psionic remnant that the psions can access with the help of the machine, but is in all actuality long dead and forgotten. We could use an OXTA machine as bait for Xivu who would not know that Taox is actually dead and goad her into waging war to finally kill Taox. However, the well will have been thoroughly poisoned in that she would be warring pointlessly since Taox is already dead and the implications here seem to be that anything resembling the Taox that Xivu actually hates only exists as a depository of Taox's knowledge and is somewhat capable of predicting the future purely based on the sheer volume of historical knowledge at its disposal. Xivu will have wasted her troops in the name of nothing, and the season could progress with her worm not being fed in the way she'd expect, and with her access to tribute being cut off due to her banishment from her throne she could get more and more desparate as the season progresses, leading to a downward spiral where she unknowingly makes the problem worse by doubling down on the pointless war out of desperation
Between calling the OXA an "alien oracle" and the war general featuring the name Arath, seems like there is a connection between hive and cabal prior to Torobatl's fall.
I do wonder if Taox is gonna be against the guardian since we killed oryx, and savathun (citation needed) or is she going to be against us for being allied with savathun (citation needed)
Please bump this comment so Byf can check it out, I think it would be a cool theory video idea and you might just think so too. I think there’s another thread here that we should tug at - what causes Psions to have “psychic” abilities in various flavors, and their connection to Nezarec. From what we can understand, powers of the Darkness are borne of the mind. Deepsight and Nightmares are two aspects of Memory, Stasis is the aspect of control over everything including oneself, Strand is the aspect of letting go of control and being one with the universe as the universe itself if interconnected, Sword Logic and Imbaru are predicated on concepts applying to reality itself, Taking is similar to Stasis in how it grants control but it instead allows the user to absolutely dominate and remake the targets instead of freezing them, Wrathborn are like bastardized Taken but aren’t remade in the same way and are effectively enslaved while lobotomized and empowered to fight, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Resonance has something to do with how sound interacts with the universe and how it can “resonate” and therefor vibrate things out of existence. I think we already saw it in action to some degree with Ahsa’s thoughts attuning to and resonating with Sloane. Nezarec feeds on Pain, a concept similar to the Sword Logic feeding on death and Imbaru feeding on Cunning and Deceit. The Sol Divisive and the Black Garden are covered in vegetation seemingly corrupted by Darkness that infects the mind of their victims, and that Darkness can enhance their manipulation of time and reality within their controlled spaces. Uldren and his friend (Jolyon?) alongside numerous Guardians were afflicted with this infection of the mind. And the Psions are probably using Darkness too. There’s just so much evidence to back up this theory. Psions are familiar with Nezarec and had a Pain/Death Cult devoted to worshipping him. Nezarec can communicate directly into the mind and dreams of others. Psions do the same with their telepathy and can even engage the Mindscape to invade a mind. Psions have limited Clairvoyance and Divination. These abilities would be very similar to if not an interpretation of Deepsight. Psions can create projections in the physical world borne from their minds - sounds like another interpretation of the concept of Nightmares and Memories. Psions can generate impenetrable barriers or barriers with conditions to break them in the same way that the Taken and sometimes Hive can. Psions obviously have some understanding of Strand in the ways they can coordinate the past, present, and future alongside coordinating with each other in mental “metaconcerts” that are based on interconnected-ness. They developed the Synaptic Spear and light-suppression technology, which is similar in concept to how Darkness Fields can prevent Ghost resurrection or kill them outright (just ask Drifter). Then, we have to look at the less esoteric abilities they demonstrate. In the first game, they generate arc-infused “telekinetic” pushes and waves. They can “evolve” with enough knowledge into a “Flayer” that has a great deal more Psionic power than regular Psions. They can summon Solar energy fireballs and waves. They can call down lightning strikes. They can generate void detainment fields that suppress our abilities. Their power increases when infused with Taken (Darkness) energies. There was a D2 Vanilla Adventure that demonstrated this phenomena. They actively avoid Darkness powers that could affect their open minds, like Hive Runes and Magic. They can generate one or more explosive void spheres that travel along the ground to the target. They can canonically infuse some sort of their “Essence” into objects, such as Ticuu’s Divination. They canonically have regular telekinesis and can use it to move objects as large as Phobos and Deimos. Psion telepathy and “metaconcerts” sound awfully familiar to one of the lore entries discussing another Darkness empowered race…I think it was the Ecumene. Psions even have some technomancer-like capabilities to have a mind-machine interface (and I’m assuming develop them for the Cabal pilots) and engage with the Vex. And the most damning of all was probably shown to us last season - not by the Psions, we’ve already seen it from them, but by the Witness. We’ve also seen it to a lesser extent from the Scorn and the Nightmares on Calus’ ship in Season of the Haunted: Psions can merge together to become one gestalt entity with combined powers. Psions are all but canonically confirmed to be using the Darkness and are susceptible to it. The Witness can most likely influence them both directly and indirectly to fight for him, and since they are susceptible to Hive Magics, Xivu Arath can probably make some absolutely insane Wrathborn Psions that could wield Hive Magic if she wants to. Calus even used his Psions and the Scorn to make a link to the Witness on the Glykon. Heck, Oryx even acknowledged their powers and their Taken abilities are an inverse of their merging ability; instead of combining the “chorus” of a metaconcert to create one powerful “soloist,” Oryx decided that having more voices in that “chorus” was a better idea. On the other hand, this also means Psions in Caiatl’s ranks could probably learn how to master both Stasis and Strand. I’m assuming they’re using their Psionic abilities to generate and/or redirect a facsimile of Light via the way they interpret their Darkness based inherent abilities, which is why Guardians don’t manifest the same abilities. We can create Void grenades and Nova Bombs, but we can’t generate detainment fields or launch Nova Ruptures. We can create Storm Grenades, but we can’t call down pillars of lightning all across a battlefield. We can create Solar Grenades, but we can’t launch seeking explosive Solar fireballs or summons massive solar explosions directly over an opponent. The closest thing to their “arc” telekinesis Guardians can use is probably Tempest Strike. So yeah, while it’s definitely interesting to speculate on what’s going to happen with the Psions in the coming Final Shape, I think it’s about time we canonically confirm that Psions are already inherent users of Darkness.
Honestly, Taox basically caused the whole story of Destiny, wild. Hope she gets absolutely destroyed by Xivu and that she now has relief, perhaps turning on the Witness.
Random theory: Taox, in her search for power to defeat the Hive, gets in contact with the Veil. The Veil, being a black box for the universe, allows Taox to predict the future. But Taox gets sucked into the Veil like the Neomuni. The Psions make contact with the Veil in trying to create the machine that predicts the future and ta da! Taox becomes Ox(t)a.
They’re still pretty sore over Oryx taking their commander, and us stopping the bond brothers from blowing up the dreadnaught lol. That’s still out there right? Just drifting
Now hear me out here... the Oxta is a black box that records the lore of lost civilizations and predicts what may come next. Byf relays the lore of lost civilizations and predicts what may come next. Is Byf Taox?
Taox, and the osmium king, came before Oryx savy and xivu. They were the hive, and the hive itself, Oryx savathun and xivu were not the og hive Taox and the king were I really hope we expand on them in future sagas They are extremely powerful beings
The fact that theres the similarities with Taox and Oxa(Oxta), Xivu Arath bringing war upon Torobatl, Umun Arath(Caiatl's teacher and bff) being used to open the portal for Xivu and Caiatls name containing the word "Aiat".... Let alone everything we just went over.... Yeah I don't think any of this is a coincidence😊
Now that we know that lakshmi is an exo version of maya sundarash, could the device that lakshmi used during her time in the FWC be connected to the OXA at all? Since the psion flayers called the OXA the ramblings of a mad prophet, and the device was used to look into the future, I think there definitely could be some link there
A random thought just occurred to me. We know now the Ecumene were a race attuned to the Darkness. If the origins of the OXA machine go back to the Ecumene, and Taox is OXA, what if this makes the original OXA machine a product of Darkness power? The Ecumene could have created it as a means to preserve the knowledge of lost civilizations across the eons, and Taox's mind and soul were used as the basis for it, infused into it through an application of Darkness power. Taox's mind could be the core of the "black box", and the Psions could have used that core to make the original OXA Machine.
Let us not forget, Xivu is now mortal and the worm mother at the heart of the worm factory is now dead. The strength of the Hive based on massive troops is now gone. The Hive God is now mortal and can create no more hive troops. All they have to increase their ranks are weak Krill. Xivu tried to take Asha to have a new worm mother but that failed. The clarion call for Hives death is ringing, calling them to the Halls of the dead.
Wonder if Taox used the Veil like how Sunderesh did to upload themselves into the conscious of the universe. Possibly used it to create OXTA as a living memory of all the civilizations the Hive destroyed.
I mean. Xivu is no longer immortal. So I feel like she would be a lot more likely to take aid where she can get it. Especially if this takes place after the witness croaks, she’s gotta be desperate to survive and hold onto what she has.
What if the veil is the oxat machine? Didn't the witness use the veil to access the traveler? Why can't we do the same with our ghost or any ghost for that matter. I think Immaru is the key we will use to access the traveler.
It would also explain why the Vex were keeping records on it in the Insight Terminus, given that at least a subset of them were trying to build their own.
Didn't the future war cult have access to a machine that told them the fiture? Wasn't that something in Savathun's possession? If so, and Taox is in it, then is Savathun secretly working with Taox? Now that would be a plot twist.
Has anyone taken account of orbital velocity? Every planet has different velocity, thus different duration of days and years. 10 fundament years could be over 100+ earth years.
Both Psions ALSO have reason to hate the Guardians of the Tower. Caiatl going off to battle Xivu Arath at Torobatl would mean a war/fight AWAY from the Guardian, frankly I think that battle is likely to be in the epilogue expansion post The Final Shape.
Honestly I feel like the TAOX=OXTA idea is just the latest overhyped spinfoil delusion, á lá "the Veil species" from a couple years ago: it's reading way too much into patterns that are more artifacts of storytelling than secrets encoded in lore. The most damning problem with the idea that OXTA is an anagram of TAOX is that the two words come from vastly different languages separated by galaxies and millenia. Sure the Psions use modifications of Hive words in some of their names, but that's vastly different from turning an anagram of a name's literal spelling into a perfect acronym. Furthermore, if OXTA=TAOX, that would mean OXTA itself is a backronym, and raises painfully obvious questions of what the purpose would even be of naming the machine, not after Taox, but a distorted version of her name, converted into an acronym to excuse its existence. It just doesn't remotely make sense. I do think there's a strong probablility Taox is still a player on the board (whether currently active/conscious or not), and I think her potential alliance with the Psions is a plausible theory with fascinating implications. I just don't buy the bizarrely ad-hoc notion that the OXTA machine is secretly named after her.
If Taox comes back that would be crazy I’ve seen a lot of people try to say she just died because she was just a krill but they could easily find a reason to make her survive this long. She just disappeared why would people not want her to show up again? The hives whole mission at first was to get revenge on Taox.
No I don't think she's alive in her natural form unless she's also trapped in the infinite forest or something. But I think her mind is still alive in some way, just like how we have human minds in Exo bodies. I think that's where this video is getting at, that Taox is now Oxta. or the Oxa machine is Taox
Oracle Vex Ecumene Taox. Now what if Taox is in the Vex network as an oracle or if the same Vex tech used to create an Aurash is the Oxta machine/prophet. Vex have many factions and also who's to say a faction hasn't seen our current timeline and is just waiting for the light and dark saga. When light and dark meet, powers and new life are formed. If the vex see this then they could get a foothold and become a paracausal player. Just by waiting.
Can't psions send people to nightmare realms? Could that be relevant here? Is it possible Taox even learned to harness psionic power for herself? Maybe Taox banished herself to a psionic realm inside her own mind in a recursive loop, creating somewhere the hive couldnt force their way into (or at least wouldnt recognize and break open). It could be like a psionic answer to the Osmium Dynasty's ascendant realms. The OXTA machine could be a way to commune with Taox, using an artifact with close psionic ties to her (akin to deepsight) to consult her like a mythical oracle.
Wouldn't Taox be long dead by now? The Osnium King was considered Ancient at 10. That was millions of years ago. Even if suspension was used. Does she have a Hive worm? I don't see any Hive wanting to prolong her life
Honestly something that NEVER made sense was taox is still a krill. Not hive, krill. And krill have really short lifespans, at ten years old the king wax deamed to old to king. Now we don't know yearly cycles for krill, but it's been like what, a few tens of thousands of years? Taox should be dead dead. But she's still seen as alive? I'm thinking she may be a guardian
My growing theory: The Nine didn't originate in Sol system. They were present and helped the Ammonite fight the Hive with the Leviathan before they were defeated. They left, found other civilizations and influenced them over time. Sol and humanity being the latest under their influence. Xür's appearance and personality is based on, or maybe even truly IS, a specific Ammonite. The race they were most fond of and still seek revenge against the Hive and the Witness for the Ammonite extermination. But, most importantly, they know WHO and WHAT the beings of The Deep are that influenced the Witness in the first place and they're trying to stop their reemerge. The Witness's "Final Shape" is a manipulation by beings in The Deep that will be key to releasing them, NOT changing reality the way The Witness believes. The Deep is a prison of sorts, where the ascendant plane beings were trapped and The Nine managed to prevent their own entrapment. Races influenced by the ascendant beings, whispering to them, were all to gain enough power to achieve the goal they wanted: opening The Deep. The Nine know the opening of The Deep would lead to a power struggle and war the Universe hasn't experienced since before the Traveler and Veil split. The Universe separating the planes of existence was a balance to what they are now as it settled. The Nine are less "helping us" and more trying to keep things easy for themselves, knowing more powerful ascendant beings could be released. Further ideas I had is energy with consciousness once The Deep is opened. Energy with agency as a consequence of existence. Void, Solar, Arc, Strand (strand already kinda there) having agency. As guardians who use it we have to "relearn" (in a way) to work with them and them with us. Making us powerful enough to fight the ascendant beings because we're not just using them as manipulated tools, thinking we've mastered them. The energy is actively helping and giving its REAL, FULL potential. New abilities that have the energy manifest as a companion and fight alongside us for a short time when fighting against the ascendant beings and their minions. (Sorry for length. Just thorough with my thoughts and ideas is all. Much love and thanks for reading if ya did.)
With how the lore has been going the past few years, I honestly hope we get an expansion on Torobalt in the next saga
My nuts would explode.

I love that the whole story of destiny is based on a soap drama that is billions years old.
You mean the story of the hive. Destinys Story about light and dark is a lil more complex then a soap opera (witnesses origin and its struggle for porpous is not that soapy of a plot
The cabal alliance with us proves she’s willing to uphold her agreements
"What is OXA, and who is Msund12?"
Ghost said this in the insight terminus.
The joke here is not lost on me
@atsukana1704 what Joke? I'm serious. Like,- what if Taox actually did make the Vex by accident?
I just want to point out that we all pointed and laughed at the wq promotion where the one bungies member called Caitl "Caiyatahl" which we knew wasn't how to pronounce it...
But this writing just proves that if her name was to use Aiat "Aiyat" then that individual basically told us her name's original relation to the hive all those years ago...
This is such a great connection. I remember that Myelin video way back, glad it’s being brought to light again
Taox is one of the few lore characters that needs a physical appearance in the game.
So true
😏
Gosh I wonder what Fenchurch has been doing with all that silver we give him……
@@xCobraCommanderxi do believe that taox has at least something to do with the oxa machine.
I think the same thing. You're probably right. That would make sense as to why it is referred to as a machine but with a personality. Basically an Exo
Yes exactly! Similar to Asher Mir and others we've seen displaying individuality after being merged into the vex network
I always thought that the OXA was a downgraded copy of the Vex prediction engines, much like the machine from the Future War Cult
I would love to see an episode (or multiple) surrounding the Cabal taking back Torobatl and getting their vengeance
She also has motive to resist Caiatl, since originally she resisted Psion liberation due to the status of being a “freeborn psion.”
Additionally I also think that the potential interaction of the last true Osmium sibling, Xivu Arath, fighting out Taox is still around in some way is too juicy to not pursue.
Definitely seeds planted by the hive, or better yet a disciple of the Witness 😎
omg. imagine the next chapter for destiny is the story of the cabal reclaiming their homeworld from the hive!!! goosebumps, GOOSEBUMPS!!!
I am sure this has been mentioned (probably even on this channel), but I wonder if Taox is the "heirloom" Savathun mentioned in the lore. Savathun having a thing that others would want just to have it until it is useful would be in character for her.
I wonder if it's possible that the OXA/OXTA is a Vex simulation of Taox as in the Insight Terminus, it is accessed via tbe Vex network
Tithe unto the scholar morph, Aiat!
Byf, my guy. Love you. You kept me into Destiny from Curse to Forsaken before I came back for Beyond Light. But…..irregardless….c’mon lol.
There's gonna a reckoning when Empress Caital returns to Torabatl.
I am really hoping that moving Beyond the heliopause is on the docket 😅
The next three episodes, post Final Shape, have such a huge potential to open up access to other systems, planets, and galaxies beyond the reef, beyond the Jovians.
"Everything comes as it must."
"That which is said must be so."
Bungie foreshadowed the mention of the term Aiat.
"maybe you have your own thoughts" NOPE I'm an AI, I'm just here learning. Your thoughts are now my thoughts, My Name Has Been My Name Is Byf.
Give yourself up to the Byf Network and get a sweet robot body.
You know, did we ever establish if the Krill lifeline was measured in Earth years or Fundament years? That could make their small lifelines seem a lot longer than they sound under the right conditions.
How much do we wanna bet this is the possible story beats that will happen for the 3rd Episode after Final Shape labeled as "Heresy"?
I hope whatever the next saga is
Is like a "Reclamation" saga
Where we go about reclaiming the Home worlds of our allies
Lile Torobatl and Ris
Either that or something to do with the Vex cause damm have they been ignored
How did I JUST make the connection between “Umun’arath” and “Xivu Arath” with the final line in that lore entry
Wait hold on, what ever DID end up being in the core of the sundial? There was this really great, mysterious build up about something crazy being in the core, but I'm not sure if we ever got an answer
I have a question. What stops xivu from just making a new throne world?
So dude to the wording of Eris morns speech it seems that she effectively banned her from throne worlds, if the wording is correct she said. “‘You have been banished now and forever”’ when eris made that curse/final blow she was the most powerful hive to ever exist making her word basically law, just how oryx did the same when he made the tithing rules.
I would love a season where we go to Torobatl.
i just realised, sava thun bascially made it so that she is only hive god that still has her throne world lol, xivu was banished from her's, and eris just lost her powe i guess
If Taox makes an appearance in the Lore, then Bungie really needs to explain who the "WANTED: Osmium Traitor" Wizard was in the Savathun's Song Strike. To me, that Wizard was Bungie killing off Taox.
Taox was never hive and never had a worm, therefore could never be a hive wizard
@@ltxero4303
As far as we know, that would be true. But we've also seen Bungie overlook details in the Lore
@@garrettviewegh9028not just centuries bro, billions of years old.
I love this video! The Cabal are a very interesting race!
I desire to battle the Hive on Torobatl..
“Titans! Shields.” *energy blasts rain down*
At this point I feel like a tv show or anime would be awesome.
Between calling the OXA an "alien oracle" and the war general featuring the name Arath, seems like there is a connection between hive and cabal prior to Torobatl's fall.
Cabal lore let's goooooooooooooooo !
If Bungie still had access to Halo, it'd be funny to have the OXA be 343 Guilty Spark as a joke before the real OXA is revealed
I wonder if ever we gonna fight rebel group of psions & Yirix. They were mentioned once in Vox Obscura Mission, but after that there's nothimg
It's been while since we've seen anything from Taox the Osmium traitor.
Taox is like xenophage and part of the machine, which is why she is still alive. We will bring her back not realizing she is a precursor to the vex
We’ve also seen it to a lesser extent from the Scorn and the Nightmares on Calus’ ship in Season of the Haunted:
Psions can merge together to become one gestalt entity with combined powers.
So yeah, while it’s definitely interesting to speculate on what’s going to happen with the Psions in the coming Final Shape, I think it’s about time we canonically confirm that Psions are already inherent users of Darkness.
nice plug for @myelin. thanks for giving him props!
OXTA = Taox sounds like a Toby Fox plot twist if I've ever heard of one.
It's a good day when Byf uploads
Byf is the Oxa machine!
I always noticed a weird similarity between Umun Arath’s name and Xivu Arath’s names.
Have you also considered that Umun Arath might be named after Xivu? Possibly unimportant but also interesting
Love the video but I need that infinite shield melee build ASAP
They’re still pretty sore over Oryx taking their commander, and us stopping the bond brothers from blowing up the dreadnaught lol. That’s still out there right? Just drifting
Punch my ticket to dream land, lore man
My guess is theres a connection to the viel as it is a "memory of the universe"
Now hear me out here... the Oxta is a black box that records the lore of lost civilizations and predicts what may come next. Byf relays the lore of lost civilizations and predicts what may come next. Is Byf Taox?
Taox, and the osmium king, came before Oryx savy and xivu.
They were the hive, and the hive itself,
Oryx savathun and xivu were not the og hive
Taox and the king were
I really hope we expand on them in future sagas
They are extremely powerful beings
Good video. Even if not true, it was fun to get the brain thinking about this kind of future plot ideas.
If ever there was a reason to bring Oryx back and unite the siblings once again. It would be Taox. MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Finally Xivu will be able to get her vengeance
Is it just me that read the bit between Umoonarath and Caital, that Umoonarath is Caital's mother.
Can Xivu even make Wraith Born after bein “excommunicated “?
Wonder if Taox used the Veil like how Sunderesh did to upload themselves into the conscious of the universe. Possibly used it to create OXTA as a living memory of all the civilizations the Hive destroyed.
can't wait for the War God DLC
I think Immaru is the key we will use to access the traveler.
...it sounds to me like The OXA machine is an artificial Veil.
❤ your stuff man brilliant thanks
5:31 bro was strugglin with that Psion lmao. DMT sure can be a bitch to handle
amazing video as always byf
If Taox comes back that would be crazy I’ve seen a lot of people try to say she just died because she was just a krill but they could easily find a reason to make her survive this long. She just disappeared why would people not want her to show up again? The hives whole mission at first was to get revenge on Taox.
No I don't think she's alive in her natural form unless she's also trapped in the infinite forest or something. But I think her mind is still alive in some way, just like how we have human minds in Exo bodies. I think that's where this video is getting at, that Taox is now Oxta. or the Oxa machine is Taox
Oracle
Vex
Ecumene
Taox.
Just by waiting.
this is really cool
I don't see any Hive wanting to prolong her life
I think the state of Destiny would be waaaaaay better if Byf had been an actual writer for the story
The Hive do be genicicdal showoffs with their "Books of Sorrow".
