Greatly presented and impossibly available (limited production) to buy. As soon as I heard about this 6 months back I wanted to make a deposit which Lamborghini was willing to receive. The problem is that deposit would not earmark a specific vehicle so as to not guarantee any advantageous purpose for it (no securing of a vehicle or locking in a price). I proposed to the dealer that the deposit would be non-refundable (instead of being refundable as they were so proud to state) as long as I knew that it would secure an allocation with a price limit (even if above what I was told... I was willing to accept that , but a limit nonetheless ). That proposal was rejected and it was only then that the dealer admitted that they have a history of returning 'dreamer only' deposits because there were no cars to sell after all that wait which only benefited the dealer with improved cash flow . I wish that dealers would be more candid and say, like Porsche who says , 'We have NO bananas today', so buyers could move on (with their money at least). Ferrari is also guilty. In 2022, I actually put a $10,000.00 deposit with them for a 296 GTB Coupe. And for that money, I immediately had a meeting to indicate what options I wanted. Turned out that at that meeting, Ferrari was only 'showboating'. It is now May 17, 2023 , and there is not even an allocation available for me in 2026, which, even if I were to get one then would be that many more model years expensive. And they are telling me that is a big 'if'. So the day before yesterday, I asked for my money back. I think that the opportunity is now for car review you tubers to only deal with cars that are available to purchase, period. All these exotic car reviews turn real buyers off who would not subscribe to more car reviews that they cannot buy. But I guess there is more of a dreamer following to keep such you tubers afloat.
As someone who will likely never be able to afford such luxuries as this supercar or others, your insight into the trade was very interesting. I'm sorry to hear that it's so difficult to secure even a production car like a 296GTB despite having the financial means to do so. Based on what you said, I don't think the problem is something that UA-camrs can/will solve because just like the manufacturers, they rely on massive quantities of views to earn their livings, so restricting the quantity and type of cars they review to more attainable ones would be shooting themselves in the foot. The only thing that I think could solve this issue would be legislation, but since this is a very niche issue affecting a small number of people that are clearly already very fortunate in life overall, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything anytime soon from a government that can't even come together to solve dire issues that affect millions of people living around or below the poverty line. Sounds like you're just barely able to comfortably afford these types of cars, but the way you describe things working you need to be even wealthier, so wealthy that the absence of tens of thousands of dollars for multiple years is barely noticeable to you, and the eventual price (assuming an allocation is secured) must be irrelevant as it may fluctuate by over $100k. Sounds like the best thing for you to do would be to find used examples of what you want or just settle for something similar, but a bit older. Seems like much less of a hassle.
@@bwofficial1776 I'd assume it's because the Steratto is a special model. And they're probably making sure that you can not only afford it, but afford its maintenance, not to mention actually using it
@@notlNSIGHTafford it? I don't think you are getting one soon. Keep in mind that Ferrari is booming in sales now, so even normal production cars are being backed up. Ferrari was not made to operate like Toyota, so of course they can't produce enough in time. Sure it's quite a pity the waiting is so long, and I would hate it too, but if you think about they can't do much. Even if they build a new factory, that's a lot of money for only now, assuming that sales will drop off in the future, and factories don't grow like bamboos.
I’d probably enjoy driving this around the city more than the super-car version, frankly. Offroad smhoffroad, it just seems more practical for using as an actual car.
I love this thing. It's ridiculous that it exists at all. Lambo seems to have taken a hint from Subaru and built out a car based on function and not just looks. It's definitely not a beauty with all those warts, but knowing that every one of those warts is functional, it brings this monster a different kind of attractiveness that it deserves.
He says that you can just stick your finger in the hole to start this car instead of the ¨laborious¨ process of lifting the red protector. I just love his sarcasm when describing what he considers ridiculous functions. He does that on all his videos.
This is pretty bad to watch if you just woke up. Thought i was still in a dream state. This looks absolutely insane, It'd be so cool to see one used at the WRC.
I guess this is as close as Doug will get to review a Lancia Stratos. I see this thing as a spiritual successor to that (bar the New Stratos thing based on Ferrari 430 Scuderias). I just wish it was a bit better looking... those panels over the wheel arches are definitely not my definition of "cool". And the roof racks are just stupid, you won't be able drive fast with anything on them because the load will either will fly off, or stay put and obstruct the air flow to the intake. Looking forward to the Nissan Skyline R34 in Midnight Purple! The best color for that car.
I honesty love this car because where Im from there are roads that are still a dirt road and this car can clearly go over those roads without any problem what so ever
No offense to Lamborghini, but this thing is definitely not going to be used for offroad outside of social media. Even then it will stay mostly on trails.
@@jwalster9412 ooh, I would have to disagree. Let’s be honest the guy that’s gonna buy this has more money than he knows what to do with. I'd love to see a face to face against a raptor, or a TRX lol. Those are really powerful machines but tbf they're also heavy, maybe the Sterrato could win if the conditions are favorable to it , say, a gravel drag race or sth like that lol
Lamborghini is really shooting themselves in the foot here by making this a limited run. They could sell like 10k to 20k of them easily, and having that many on the road will ensure that they'll actually be driven hard once in awhile!
The Huracan is ending production soon, so an extra 10-20k (units) worth of parts from suppliers would've been pointless. The reason why manufacturers bring out special versions of cars is because they have leftover shells and parts (both in the factory and from suppliers) to put cars together. So to make an extra bit of cash, they announce one or two limited run models to essentially get rid of the remaining shells. The Golf GTI Clubsport or 911 GT2 RS are excellent examples. If anything, once the Sterratos are gone, the replacement will be imminent.
@@gcscr The usual "baby Lambo" is their sales leader, and I believe they sell maybe around 10K of them on average throughout their lifetime (I'm guessing, though, so I'm probably wrong). A more comfortable baby Lambo that can go on grass and drift about once in awhile without scraping would prove to be wildly popular, and more people would be willing to buy one of these because it can be argued to be more useful, hence the inflated number. Also hyperbole

This thing is wild! The reason you like the wheel arches on the Sterrato is the same reason I like them on the new WRX. They suit the car IMO, the body colored versions people are painting are very bland looking. I say kudos to both for doing something different.
The only thing I might change is the off-road lights on the front bumper. I think they’d look better on the front bonnet towards the bottom. Which would make it not much higher than they already are, but It would make a difference in my opinion.
Why is that sad? This is not an off road car. This is a sports car with fat tires and would be terrible to actually take off road. This is a marketing ploy only
When Doug said that the Huracan is 10 years old, it sent me into shock. Two things to note here: one, I can't believe it's been that long since the Gallardo, and two, the amount of competition (and tech) to come out since then.
And with all that tech (and money coming in from the Urus), I definitely won't be seeing Lamborghini minor facelifting the same car for the next decade. Or they'll stick to their heritage since the Countach.
Very cool! Sadly, out of 1,499 builds, about 1,486 will spend their entire life in a garage on a trickle charger... One will burn to the ground, which Tavarish will buy "cheap" and rebuild, one will get flooded out in a Gulf flood for Ed Bolian to buy, and one will be driven to 30,000 miles with no oil changes which Hoovie will buy as the Cheapest Lamborghini Sterrato in the US. Car Trek season 37 is going to be weird.
Honestly this just makes a supercar more comfortable and practical - tires with larger sidewalls, smoother suspension, more ground clearance so you don't scrape, and more durable body panels. I see no downside.

Oh 100000% this will appreciate in value. Just think about how crazy people get over the LM002, and this is both cooler and seems more usable. Absolutely the coolest car on sale today.
sounds like a supercar that you can drive like a normal car~ over speed bumps, high angle parking garage ramps etc.... I LOVE it!!!
so... why not just get a M5 CS or a GTS63 4-door or even AMG GT, Audi R8, Supra, 812 Superfast...?
They are even more practical, look less tacky, and cheaper (except a few)
@Grounded because it's a fucking lambo lol. Plus you can take it to places where you wouldn't take any of the cars you listed outside the Mercs.
@@TheDarkPacific lol so you know you are just badge-buying... then I think it's quite dum that you eliminate all others for that.
And what about this "light offroader" that can also go where ONLY THE MERCS? Can? What's so special about the mercedes?

I'd like to see what it looks like with body matched fender flares. The black doesn't look horrible, in fact it helps with the modified, off-road look. Just curious how much cleaner it would look with painted fenders.
I love the fact that as an off-roader, it has matte paint.
Most people will get it ppf’d anyway
Quick touch up with bed liner paint will do
I never understood the appeal of matte paint. It takes an expensive car and makes it look like an old spraypainted Civic bought off Craigslist for $500 and a bag of weed.
@@bwofficial1776 the Appeal is it looks good on certain cars.
@@LamoidZombieDog Thats subjective though, further evidenced by the fact that the other guy in this thread doesn't like it lol. Im inclined to agree with him too. Satin looks good tho.

@@bricegraham8256 yep. Analogy matters.
Since the air intake is now on the roof, if you store stuff up there using the rails (up to 70 lbs) won't you block the air scoop while driving?
As long as you don't directly put something that is blocking the intake, then it should be fine. Just leave some space between the intake and the cargo.
@@shanelulberryso basically nothig but a shovel and small gas tanks.
@@groundedgaming I have never seen a Sterrato in person. So, from what I can guess, it probably just depends on how you rig it.
Even if it is blocked air will still get through some spots and through other intakes on the car. Besides this is a super car it’s not best suited for carrying luggage it just can because it’s a lambo and that brand makes sure their cars can do anything
Those fender flares put me in the mind of what Liberty Walk does with its modifications.
Best Lambo ever made - Doug‘s excitement is really funny 😂
Incredible engineering. Doug looks like a kid in a candy store with this (in the best way possible)
What's incredible about it ?
Kinda strange the roof only holds 70 lbs, hope the car doesn't flip on the roof when flying around the desert😅

Wider track, raised ride height and off road tires. This thing is ready to battle Michigan roads!
This is the Lambo I would get. Props to Lambo for being daring and fun enough to make it.
Daring to not make the Urus an off-roader🤔
Daring to borrow an Audi and sell it with a big markup for a bodykit🤥
The best part of this video was Doug saying the joy of driving this car felt the same as the joy of seeing his sons reaction to blowing bubbles. So cute.
This is a hypercar I would be able to drive in Mexico. I wouldn’t have to worry about potholes so much, speed bumps, uneven pavement, rock streets, etc. I love it, it’s a hypercar that you could daily

Bonkers car and video, and Doug is one of few that would manage to sell sand in Sahara, just by his entusiasm!
Ferrari: we will sue you sit in that car!!
Lambo: haha rally super go brrr
I like that (at least by the looks of it) the skid plate and fender flares are plastic and not carbon fiber. Makes it seem like it was actually made to be driven in dirt
I actually think it really cheapens it. Understand using a different, more durable material, but seems like it could be made to look classier - although Lambo is not really in the business of classy. 😂
As someone from Eastern Europe I think this is the only way you could comfortably drive a supercar here. There are places with more holes than roads here.

Damm, time fly by. Cant believe mini Doug is already 2 year old!
Lamborghini, the company founded on rejecting Ferrari's practices, has turned out just like its rival.
So you're saying Lesbians in Oregon are going to buy these in droves?
@@pistonburner6448 That's who it is marketed to, so I think it's a safe bet.

Doug: Sterrrrrrrrato
I guess this is as close as Doug will get to review a Lancia Stratos. I see this thing as a spiritual successor to that (bar the New Stratos thing based on Ferrari 430 Scuderias). I just wish it was a bit better looking... those panels over the wheel arches are definitely not my definition of "cool". And the roof racks are just stupid, you won't be able drive fast with anything on them because the load will either will fly off, or stay put and obstruct the air flow to the intake. Looking forward to the Nissan Skyline R34 in Midnight Purple! The best color for that car.
Honestly, this was bound to happen at some point. The huracan’s all wheel drive system is a no brainer for off roading and rallying.😊

Fr, so stupid when companies sell it on “the best drivers car” and then make a limited run it just guarantees that thing will only sit in garages.
10k to 20k? Oh, Really? How did you get that number?
@muke001 that's incorrect, Lamborghini made just over 9k cars last year, and about 2/3 are the Urus.

For the roof rails they shouldve added a roll cage to the inside of the car, this would help with the weight it would be able to carry.
I love that it's side effect of better comfort helped put it at the top!
