- Uncle Grandpa survived The Great Cartoon Network Purge on HBO Max thanks to a Steven Universe crossover. Recent events also led to people looking back at Uncle Grandpa in a more positive light. As it turns out, the show is much better than the Internet had everyone believe!
Uncle Grandpa is considered the god of Cartoon Network for his abilities to alter time and space. He's aware that many of his friends were snapped away in the purge of Cartoon Network shows on HBO Max. Now that he's fighting, let's reassess what we know about the show. Is Uncle Grandpa actually worth watching? Why was he forgotten during the Cartoon Network Renaissance, while Adventure Time and Regular Show took the spotlight?

It was being the comedic Cartoon Network we knew from the 90’s, even though it overshadowed the story-driven ones such as Steven Universe.
Uncle Grandpa is indeed the most powerful being in fiction. Imagine if the show had gone serious like Adventure Time, it would be great.

Honestly, I can imagine it, this godlike being and his strange friends trying to make an increasingly cynical and complicated world better, trying to inspire joy where ever they can despite being shunned by the larger populace, trying to keep the flame of hope alive. Honestly sounds like a Superman or Neil gaiman story, so. Yeah that would be great.

Since the day this show premiered, I've been a humongous fan of it, and always wanted to see the day that it gets the recognition it deserves. Seeing this show not only make it through the CN Purge, but also get a massive cult following after all this time brings a massive smile to my face.

I’ve always liked Uncle Grandpa. Yes, it kind of has “Haha random” type humor, but they do it in a way that’s actually funny. The stories in the episodes can be pretty good too. It’s goofy, in a clever way.

The fact that Uncle Grandpa has become more powerful than even the executives that control the state of his show really goes to show the sheer power contained within that character. Whereas every other character in existence has to state when something is canon to themselves outside of their own universe, Uncle Grandpa is the opposite. EVERYTHING is canon to him until he states otherwise! It's truly incredible to finally see him harnessing the full potential of his powers!

I loved Uncle Grandpa since I was a kid, full of randomness and creativity this show had! Im so happy that this show is getting the recognition it deserves since most people didn't like the show of how random it is. I was also really mind blown about Uncle Grampa and Steven Universe meeting each other since I was a kid, one of my favorite episodes!

Uncle Grandpa was always a 10/10 show.
It's the balding manchildren in their mid-30s that hated it because it wasn't an emotional story-driven show with an obnoxious fandom that they could use to replace their miserable social lives. Everyone parroted what they said, so they hated it by proxy. I think it's modern meme culture that made everyone warm up to.

I never watched it. It seemed too random and strange especially with a character named realistic flying tiger 😂😂. I’ve seen like one episode (I don’t even remember if I saw the whole thing) But I will give it a chance and watch the first 2 episodes or any 2 episodes 😂.

Uncle Grandpa is such an odd, special show and most of my memory of it is waking up and watching it during Ramadan when I'd have to wake up for Sehri at like 3am, so yeah it feels like a fever dream in my brain-

What always attracted me to UG is just the over the top humor and unrealism and how almost everyone treats it as a normal part of their lives.
Edit: I just realized, due to the wacky nature of both him and his show, Uncle Grandpa has a high moveset potential for Multiversus.

This show wasn't every CN viewer's cup of tea, but I kinda thought it was pretty good. Seeing it survived somehow makes me happy, but also sad since he's getting written off.

I would watch Uncle Grandpa because it reminds me of the classic cartoons of the 30s and 50s. But some people said that the series is bad, and the truth is, it fell off in the second half of the third season. Hopefully it will get the old glory because now it needs a better approach but it keeps the good part of the nice seasons. Moreover, it won an Emmy for outstanding achievement in animation.

Uncle Grandpa means a lot to me personaly, not only do i actually love the show but it reminds me of better times when my family wans´t all separated, i used to watch it with my little cousin and i knew and still do every once in a while the portuguese uncle grandpa voice exactly how it was in the show here in Portugal, People still find it very funny.

Growing up without a grandpa, i watched this show, i really liked it when it aired, is really good, the fact that he is everyone's uncle and grandpa comforted me because i grew up without having a grandpa
This was a show that I liked growing up. But I think the main problem with this show is the timing it came out, and the popularity of most other shows at the time, making it look like one of the weaker shows in the mid 2010s. I will say the show isn't perfect, but I think that's the point of the show and is where its charm comes from. It's not a show that's supposed to be taken too seriously, it's main purpose feels more to be a fun time putting its comedy at top priority. It also pretty much targets a specific audience which hinders the show a bit more. All in all, it is a good show that kind of got overlooked. If it debuted in the present day, I feel it might have gotten more success. Also I like Uncle Grandpa becoming a meme, he pretty much is the perfect rival to Ultra Instinct Shaggy, lol

i always liked uncle grandpa, i never understood the hate. it’s just a different style of comedy, maybe not for everyone, but it’s always been super well done
I wasn't a big fan of it but I did think even when it first came out that the show deserved more recognition. While the humor was a little hit or miss for me for the handful of episodes that i watched, when it comes to the animation of the show and just how well they used the fact it was animation for visual gags and tricks there's few modern shows (even counting that back for a decade) that come even close. Especially when it feels like more cartoons, for as good as they are, are pulling into more realistic physics, it's good to have something that ignores every limitation of reality. I've always respected it for that and I should've come back to give more episodes a watch by now.

I watched a bunch of Uncle Grandpa episodes, and when I heard that people hated it, it really soured my opinion on the show. Now hearing people look back on it fondly like Clarence really warms my heart.

I've said that people hated the show in general.
Never had a reason towards why, until you explained.
This show brings tears of joy and laughter to me.
But thinking back when people said it was too random, they're right. It is too random.
But that's what made this show special for me.
It's so unexpected, it's fun to not know what's about to happen.

I remember when it first premiered and I watched the first couple episodes, something that I do for every series that premiers, and passed it off as something that wasn't for me. I guess I was too sober for it at the time. Seeing some clips of it now, I think I can watch this while hammered and enjoy it.

Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Gumball and Clarence were the shows I grew up with. Masterpieces of writing. I watched the others but not too much. Also, you guys should check out those show's comic books. Just as good as the shows.

I remember watching Uncle Grandpa and really liking the show, so when most people on the internet was giving it shit I couldn't see why. I wasn't the kid to see a god cartoon as anything other than a cartoon, but there are small scenes scattered throughout the episodes that show that the creators really loved the thing they were making, same thing with Clarence, all it takes is a scene for me to know there's more underneath the surface even though I can't see it.
I've always liked UG and I'm glad people can see it in a better light. and I mean... the fact he's the only one left after the "HBO Max purge" just makes the situation funny to me as well.

I was there when Uncle Grandpa aired for the very first time on the 3rd of September in 2013. I have childhood memories with this show. The best episodes came out between 2013 and 2015. I would also watch TTG aswell and I had a personal connection to that show two.

When I first saw the traliers for "Uncle Grandpa" few years back, I was very hesitant about it. Especially since UG was based off an episode from "Secret Moutain Fort Awsome", (respect to anyone who actually remembers that show) and since that show was gross with little interesting plots at times, I was afraid that the same would happen with this. But "Uncle Grandpa" wasn't that bad. Wasn't perfect, but it was a fun time for what it was.
I really liked the first seasons where he actually helped kids then it got a less enjoyable but I still enjoyed it a lot when I was younger
My only reason for dropping the show was me being suddenly REALLY deprived of shows with deep plot. Now, i just need to switch off my brain and watch the show again when i get the chance.
