I don't know why, but Uncle Grandpa staring at the screen and saying, "there's a lot of people that owe me money." makes me kind of scared.
Kai Hall you should probably be careful in case uncle grandpa comes for you
It’s like he broke the fourth wall so he could threaten to steal the viewers’ money! XD
I remember loathing this show as a kid. I think I also remember Cartoon Network doing some kind of behind the scenes interviews with creators, and one of the questions was, "What makes you laugh?" The creator of Uncle Grandpa gave the answer: "My definition of comedy is throwing a brick in the washer and seeing what happens." I can't help but say, "Yep, that checks out."
I hated it too when I saw it. My little sister loved it. I’m more of a dark humor kind of person, and I hate to this day how mind numbing-ly, headache inducing-ly loud this show was. But my sister thinks that making a funny face while saying a random word is hilarious, so uncle grandpa was right up her alley.
@@DannyDevitoOffical-TrustMeBro what do you mean you still hate it? Why are you here then?
Fun Fact: The creator found out that the show was canceled via twitter. He then posted a picture of Uncle Grandpa with a gun in his mouth. You can still find the picture if you look it up.
I love how it’s hinted that uncle grandpa isn’t actually just a nice old man, I mean he’s been to prison and is chased by cops multiple times in the show.
he’s a nice old man that is unhealthily wacky and zany, its not out of possibility hed get into legal trouble just by getting up to some shenanigans

This show will always have a place in my heart, even though it’s wacky and i can 100% percent see how people find it annoying or bad. Only for the reason when i was a kid my grandpa would watch the show with me anytime it aired on CN. I loved the show dearly then, so much so he even took me out to Walmart to get the show on dvd so i could watch it whenever. It must have been annoying watching this show over and over yet he always acted excited to watch it with me. He’s no longer here with us, but seeing this in my recommended randomly sent me on a tiny blast to the past.

I am living with Gumball. If it ends,I will suicide.
Uncle grandpa treated his audience the same way he treats his kids: we hated him at first, but by the time we learned to love him, he had already left our lives.
I honestly enjoyed uncle grandpa when it was on, but I was also a dipshit with fairly severe autism and ADHD, so I can understand why others disliked it. I saw it as a kid-safe superjail, which is still in my fav 5 cartoons.
Uncle Grandpa would 100% accidentally run the jail because he's completely unaware and Warden would pop off completely because he's a raging narcissist
As a dipshit with severe autism and ADHD as well, I loved this show. Cool part is, Mr. Gus is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who voices Jerome and Cleveland Jr in Family Guy, and Principal Lewis from American Dad. I remember first hearing Jerome and realizing it was the same guy as Mr. Gus and being happy that he was in the show and I could still enjoy him.
I loved this show as a kid, but I can see why people hate it.
I loved it and now I don't get why people hated it

Uncle Grandpa was also for a brief moment the last light in the darkness as Warner Bros Discovery purged all his friends and fellow cartoons from their streaming service! At least until his light also got snuffed out... RIP Uncle Grandpa, you were truly everyone's uncle and and grandpa.
uncle grandpa is the reason why my humor is broken, and i love it
The strangeness was actually one of my favorite parts of the show, Giant Realistic Flying Tiger tho.
I JUST WAS HIT WITH A WAVE OF NOSTALGIA AND I LOVE UNCLE GRANPA STILL AND I LOVED IT THEN
The sad part about this is the people who hated this are adults but kids loved this show witch was the shows intended audience
I turned 30 in just over a month, and I have always loved Uncle Grandpa from the moment I first saw the pilot on UA-cam to its premiere on Cartoon Network to its finale. Even now I say "good morning" in the exact same tone as Uncle Grandpa.
I always liked Uncle Grandpa, and can't believe anybody hated it. The humor was similar to the first four seasons of Spongebob Squarepants, and Uncle Grandpa looked like a Don Martin character, and, as somebody who read MAD Magazine in their youth, brought back a lot of good memories.

It’s because the first season wasn’t very good, so people just expected more of the same when the later seasons released, which were better.
+Cartoon Post
Not many people did, though. That was the point of my comment.
It’s okay. Nothing to brag about I’d say. Perhaps if it came out at a different time it would been better received.
To be fair though, when you start at the bottom, any amount of progress can be viewed as “better” or “improved upon”. I’ll admit my biases and state that I haven’t seen the entirety of the show, so feel free to disregard my opinion if you hold the show in high regard, but from what I have seen the series seems rather vapid. Not every show has to have nuance, over arching themes, and deeper meaning but I’d say this show is on the opposite spectrum and is overly cartoony and overtly crass. Everyone is entitled to consume whatever entertainment that they can derive enjoyment from, just as I can voice my opinions as to what standard cartoons should be held too. I don’t mean to pontificate about the quality of animated shows but I’m sure most people would agree that this show’s humor and dialogue is somewhat on par with teen titans go, and that’s about as low as you can get with animated shows.
@Cartoon Post season 4 and 5 honestly sucked as well as the intro changed so I like the first 3 seasons
"A lot of people owe me money" -uncle gandpa
"Why dont you just do what I did to a state prison and hop the fence?" - Uncle Grandpa
The tiger was my favorite part. For some reason the joke of her not only being a png but that she has a typical girl's room with boy band members on her walls just made me smile lol

Everyone says its horrible bc of how random and ""disgusting"" it is. But you keep forgeting, that 90' cartoons were the same. I honestly think if uncle grandpa came out in late 90' early 2000, it would have been a hit
Honestly a part of me wants to know what it would’ve looked like if it was made as a 90’s cartoon.
I don’t get why everything has to be serious and edgy. Cartoons are meant to entertain and I think that watching a comedy cartoon every once and a while is good.
The more serious shows like Steven Universe tend to suck but there are alot of comedic ones. Like We Bear Bears probably one of the funniest CN shows ever made.
icecream hero Steven Universe was good up until a certain point. Like when they made Lapis have depression and when Peridot was extremely annoying.

I have so much nostalgia for the show, when i was younger i loved the sillyness and the goofyness of the show. The randomness and the whakyness of the show is amazing
The randomness probably annoyed some people, specially the "modern cartoons are crap" people
The unpredictability was its greatest quality
All the things I remember from the show in two words:
...
.."GOOD MORNING!"
I liked pizza steve's dad that one Taco from the fat kid and the fat kid episode (pretty good one offs)
Uncle Grandpa hits different since its the Last Survivor of the HBO max purge
The reason most cartoons are hated is cuz of when they came out. Anything from the first or second generation of internet user’s childhoods will be considered classics that if you dislike, you’ll be executed for heresy, stuff from around 2012-2016 will either be loved or absolutely despised regardless of quality. That’s just how the internet operates.
Honestly I remember actually liking Uncle Grandpa when I was younger, though I think I decided to pretend I didn’t like it that much since not a lot of people like it or because I thought I was too old for the silly humor idk. But hands down even if the crossover wasn’t wanted or needed, that Steven Universe with Uncle Grandpa crossover has some of my favorite funny jokes from the show.
It really sucks to see people hating on a show you like a lot doesn't it.
Definitely agreed. I was really excited to talk about it to an older friend but she immediately shut it down and expressed her dislike, and while it's probably fine, it definitely made me act like I didn't watch it. Still, it was my favorite cartoons to watch in the morning, along with Chowder.
And, hot take - I felt the same way about Teen Titans Go, though that was probably because I was met with the childish show first before the actual show, and there are certain aspects that bastardizes the original characters, _especially_ Robin. Yet sometimes some of the episodes feel like the show isn't as bad as they're portrayed to be and have a humor similar to TAWOG, and if it were original characters it wouldn't seem like a pathetic comparison to the original show, to which I admit is superior simply for the non-random humor. Which, random humor is okay, but it really shouldn't have taken beloved characters and turning it into a wacky show.
"Why was Uncle Grandpa so hated?"
Because it's about an old man breaking into children's houses to help them get "happy"
He wasnt just some old man, he was everyone UNCLE AND GRANDPA. You wouldnt stop your grandpa from trying to make you happy
I remember being pretty excited for the Steven Universe x Uncle Grandpa Crossover

this hits different after the whole HBO purge
Watching this now after its resurgence. People have never felt like they were THIS wrong before.
You’re right, because I don’t feel wrong at all. The show still sucks gangrenous toes.
I once saw a tierlist where a person was thinking what show characters they could take in a fight and they put uncle grandpa in bottom tier. Not realizing his true power
because of the inherent OP-ness of toon logic he would likely be able to overpower most (if not all) currently known fictional superheroes, beat up basically everyone in the Dragon Ball universe, and probably be head to head with characters that also work on toon logic (i.e. 1930s cartoons like Popeye and older iterations of Mickey/Bugs Bunny)
I think Uncle Grandpa could curb stomp Bugs Bunny. Bugs Bunny breaks the 4th wall, but to Uncle Grandpa it doesn't even exist, he even interacts with the Editor at one point with no build up
y’all sleep..... i liked this show for how random it was like nothing made sense and Uncle Grandpa never failed to surprise me .
Right! And he was genuinely likable because he had morals and he wasn’t afraid to set kids straight lol even if his ways of getting around to it are crazy
I kinda never got into it but for some of its jokes got me into it
I didn’t mind watching it either. I remember the Lazar Hammer UG had
The biggest reason: The time of each episode was too short, only 13 minutes
here for this show remained from the purge
it's the randomness. this show is so random. i never managed to expect anything which ended up happening not even 2 seconds before it happening. though the creativity with how they play with Uncle Grandpa's shaping is pretty good. also random.
I loved Uncle Grandpa. The first season focused a little too much on “lolrandom” humor, but it was genuinely entertaining once it got past it’s growing pains.
Luke Skywalker I respect your opinion but I can proudly say I enjoyed it. Not the best thing, but something nice to watch while bored
I wouldn't say its random most of the jokes were plot relevant and alot of times he just wanted to help kids.
@Bird Brain One of my favorate episodes is when Uncle Grandpa and Pizza Steve were stuck on the esclator.
I actually enjoyed season 1 tbh. I liked the premise of an omnipotent 'uncle grandpa' who saved the world's children from their cliche problems like being scared of the dark or not wanting to clean up. It was a show that thought children morals without being boring, patronising or trying too hard to be cool most of the time.
Idk I enjoyed the show but it's not something I'd go out of my way to watch, just something to put on when the Simpsons reruns have finished.

Uncle Grandpa was the embodiment of 21st century humor before it was cool.
If it released today, it’d be considered a masterpiece.
I doubt it tho. The show is like, literal trash, the characters are just plain annoying. Its not enjoyable, and its the furthest thing from funny
No one talks about the Steve universe uncle grandpa episode
While it wasn't the best SU episode, it was the funniest! I remember that episode for making me LMAO when I was binge watching SU.
I actually don't like it, mainly due to the fact that it doesn't seem to understand uncle grandpa. The characters from UG feel more like parodies of themselves in that episode.
As someone who ADORED uncle grandpa (and still kinda does) I can understand why it was hated but personally I find it hilarious (although I did/do like shows like annoying orange so my humor may be a bit on the stranger side)
kinda same. I never watched annoying orange but I did watch FRED + all his movies and shows. I seem to have a higher "annoyance threshold" than most ppl bc a lot of shows like this ppl say they can't stand to watch bc the characters are too annoying I usually don't see it
