Bmo owes her the money back. Disgusting that she had to get the tv involved to get them to do the right thing. What a crappy bank😡

Why should BMO be responsible? As a traveler, you should research the risks before you go and if you want to pay cash and they won’t accept it, don’t use the service! Can you imagine if banks had to reimburse everyone who wasn’t diligent with their CC. You can’t fix stupid!

@@Ont785 Most credit cards have fraud protection. You need to receive reasonable value for your purchases and it needs to be clear on the price not to be fraud. She had a receipt showing her payment which was not for $7000, which proves fraud was committed.

      Partially, it is.
I have a few credit cards. I don’t use the $10,000 limit one for pizza and cab rides.
I carry cash for small purchases.
I read up on the destination before I leave.
I’m sorry she was targeted, but she shouldn’t have to. Change her habits? BMO will keep paying the bill?

Why is it that BMO always denies reimbursement until a third party gets involved? I think their customer service needs to be considered before anyone decides to open accounts with this bank.

I use Uber wherever possible, however there is still a large number of places where Uber doesn't operate. In some of those places there are other rideshare services available, so I try to get those apps before I land, but some places you're just out of luck and just have to be as careful as possible.
