If it's taking you nearly 4 hours a day to commute back and forth, there is something called the GO train. Oh wait, BMW guy doesn't want to travel with the peasants...
Why not? Rob MacIsaac did.
I would just try to find another job instead
the guy works downtown and lives in Burlington. He's the reason there is so much traffic. How about taking the GO?
The GO train is literally such a clean, fast, comfortable, and dignified ride compared to the Subway, and even offers them free parking. There's literally nothing that will convince some selfish suburbanites to not be traffic and then complain about it
Toronto has a infrastructure issue since 2010, ttc use to be enough back then
@@geelangfordo3272 is that worse than spending 5 hours in traffic?
Or moving to Burlington lol
@@geelangfordo3272 5 hours? A train ride from Burlington to downtown and back is a LOT less than 5 hours, even taking the transfer to TTC into account...
Maybe he should take the Go Train.
No a solution
@@geelangfordo3272 The point is that a GO train moving at capacity is still better than sitting in traffic for 2 hours.
Maybe even take the UP Express, park the car somewhere nearby. Very frustrating the incompetence of getting things done here when other major cities like Tokyo are so efficient in moving a large population.
But then he couldn’t drive his fancy bmw… and complain about it
Why in the world would this dude commute from Burlington to downtown T.O.?
There's literally a cheap and comfortable train that offers him free parking to have a quiet and consistent commute from Burlington that his taxes have already paid for. Hard to feel bad for him as he clearly works an office job that does not need him to bring his bmw tank into downtown.
For 7 years I took the train from Burlington to Bathurst & Queen in central T.O. & that was B4 all day GO! Gardener should have been pulled down decades ago!
Why not?
Park at Burlington GO, take the train....
He works at the Canary District. If he was to take the Go and switch to TTC he's looking at a similar commute time. I take the GO from Hamilton to Union and TTC to Regent Park it's about an hr and half each way.
@ScotchOnyx you're making my point for me. If the car isn't faster, what's the benefit? I've been commuting from Aldershot to Downtown for 15 years. Catch the express, take a nap. You're Downtown before you know it.
@@ScotchOnyx And if more did that, it could help expedite necessary the construction project.
@@EmoBf-tj9oe I agree with you. I don't understand choosing to sit in a car in traffic over taking the train where I could be reading a book or a newspaper. And I say that as a suburbanite.
ScotchOnyx - commuting by train is far different than commuting by car. The train is far more relaxing.
It’s not just Gardiner. The whole GTA is gridlock.
That's what happens when you build a city around a major highway and don't consider things like population and economic growth.and lets not forget the pork in all government work, right Mr 413
Yes, what is wrong with the GO ?
Me me me ......... I am the one.. I am the one... I am the one...
exactly. "Spend more money, raise our taxes, disrupt the lives of those who live near the highway, all so I can commute in my car instead of taking the GO." He's the reason there's traffic.
@@bryanhm326you're jealous
That's because there's only one guy working. The government likes to hire companies that have one crew member. Charge you 60 billion dollars and takes 20 years. Ridiculous.
Let me get out my tiny violin for this luxury car owner living near ample park and ride train stations.
I always hated working downtown. The end of day was always a nightmare.
How about creating more train lines than what currently exists in and around Toronto? Seems like this is a taboo subject though....
that would be another nightmare
That would just mean more construction lol
"even when it looks like nobody is doing anything.. work is usually done out of view where nobody can see." LOL OKAY THERE. 😂
The contractors and unions don't make any money if it's completed too soon.
yah they want consistent work
Take the train!
This is the opposite of a 15 minute city
😂
😄
Found the conspiracy nut
If our construction was like Japan, the Gardiner would've been done already
Japan also has trains everywhere.
Forget the gardener, there’s literally construction traffic on every other street in downtown… what a corrupt mess!
Yah I don't know how anyone drives in this city tbh
Work on something like this in an area like this, should be 24/7/365. Get it done.
Yes but then local residents complain about noise like they do in midtown you literally can't win
Too bad for them! Get it done.
Babboo should be taking the GO Train.
It's called the costs of life my guy suck it up! You're driving an expensive bmw so can't be too hard up for money or time 👍
😄
Remove the median and add reversible lanes in the middle that changes at rush hours
The amount of crashes would make it closed forever.
Canadian construction projects take 1000000% longer than normal and are 1000000% over budget.
Toronto is very very congested specially on the roads & 401 is Disaster, Needs to build more Highways
HOW ABOUT MAKE THE 407 FREE!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!! FN GOVERNMENTS.
No
Google "induced demand".
Gardiner is basically a parking spot now, you can't go anywhere for 30-45 minutes
I already feel better since our mayor advised that they are bringing experts. So we should expect another debacle similar to the LRT construction.
Government incompetence at its finest
All these experts are validating one point. These construction workers and their methods are outdated. Talk as if Toronto is a small down in Africa. The Americans are repairing and rebuilding the Dolphin Expressway in Miami. Project only will take 15months and we are talking about 7kms.
There is public transit from Burlington to downtown Toronto its called the go train and public transit in Toronto to navigate the city its called the TTC as well if the use of there own vehicle is preferred they can carpool
And they'll blame Chow for the additional costs.......
Or it’ll somehow be Trudeau’s fault
@@keegancheverie8417cope harder
Of course.
Stop crying and take the GO Train.
Agreed
Gee if only there was a convenient reliable train that ran parallel to the Gardiner and wasn’t stuck in traffic - oh wait there is
It won’t be 3 years more like 5.
I live in midtown and it's still not completed
Take a wild guess at how ridiculously over budget the final cost to hopeless taxpayers will be!
You can never add enough lanes - gridlock always comes. More trains, less highways - it's the only way.
@seanprice7645 It’s been the design flaw since forever. A combination of roads and improved transit can help both the potential future issues and the current one with a construction project aggravating gridlock.
Canada has one highway...
even in third world coutries , it doesnt take this much time to build a road lool
With that hydraulic hammer it's going to take forever to demolish or fix the bridge. Why not incorporate other methods of demolition? like the ones used in demolishing high rises. They can be real quick and all needed is clean up. Also 24/7 work is for when you've exhausted all resources. Get more contractors and workers instead.
The 3 years duration doesn't align with logic... at least my logic
Just Take Transit To and From Downtown. You have the TTC and Go Transit that will bring you Downtown. Like For Example u coming from the North u can Park at Hwy 407 Stn then Take the Subway To Union. Even when u are Coming from the East Park at Rouge Hill Go Stn and take the Go Transit From Rouge Hill Go Stn. Since you can Transfer Freely between Transit Agencies the One Fare Transfer. Like Going from DRT, To TTC, To Go Transit.
City planners need to be fired!!!!
It's time to " double deck " the Gardiner!!
😄
"I am the one who is the problem."
Take the GO Train and TTC
boo hoo guy driving a bmw takes slightly longer to get to work. how will the world go on!
Take GO train and don't complaint.
The Japanese can errect a 30 story building in less than one month and build an entire train station in one night. Five hundred and fifty two years for a Canadian road crew to take enough money before a job get's done.
To be fair all these toronto citizens that want construction done faster shoukd be barred from complaining about how it gets done as long as its done right
Quit complaining, there's Go trains/busses and subways/busses.
Have 3 phase divided by 3 diffrent contractors thats the solutio
I'm Impressed he got a chopper to follow his car...
They dont have jobs in Burlington? He wants everything his way. Live lavish there and work lavish dt to. Well deserved traffic
and this is why I will never own a car as long as I live in southern ontario
Have rotating shifts; night crew cleans debris, morning\afternoon construction.
The problem with that is that is that it becomes a nuisance for local residents as well
Same in Ottawa traffic weekdays afternoon Monday,Tuesday Wednesday thrusday Friday 2pm till 5pm traffic jam afternoon, but for me it’s 1 hr drive from work to home
Wow I though Ottawa would be a lot better
@@cleazy______5624 it’s the worst’s traffic in Ottawa everywhere from barrhaven, Merivale and downtown and also 417 highway is traffic jam m, during weekdays afternoon 2pm till 5pm
Many countries, even 3rd world ones (like Egypt) are building new capitals & moving big businesses & government agencies out of the downtown zoo... for Toronto this is overdue years ago.
Too much each day 2 hours to come home and construction every where
Yes they have to work for 24 hours at 2.30 every one go home .
G O T R A I N
1:04 Ya I'm sure this guy's not hurting for money. He's whining about extra time.. can't have it all fatwa.
I am one with the force and the force is with me.
Why Express and Collectors? The midian wastes two lanes.
Worst city
This guys is the problem
It’s Canada. Labour is expensive and inefficient
Buy a plane or helicopter bro stop complaining you driving a BMW stop complaining sitting in luxury seats to relax in stop whining
Bring in a Japanese company and stop the spa!!!!!!
If experts are needed who's doing it now Roman's built roads that lasted 100's of yrs
Why not move closer to work instead of driving so far.
You’re the one that lives in Burlington
It’s called midterm life. The LRT is one of the projects to help address it, but it requires building lines. It likely that there were similar issues before the Vancouver Skytrain was built.
Sorry “modern life”. Autocorrect again!
Worst newscaster ever
This guy should of been fired
Would of like to see a boxing match between this guy and Mike Tyson
bmw guy how about you work grave yard shift
Train
Toronto's broken
Itss nothing happening just yaap yaap yaap talks...
HEy why dont yall get motorbikes!!!!!!!! yall to lazy to lol dont worry ill push through
24hour
❤❤❤❤
O
Do the construction at night only after 10pm!!!Then leave the lanes open during the day!!!Build the Carlaw part of the Gardiner again, all traffic gridlock to enter the DVP!!Such bad planning all round!!!Get rid of bike lanes on Woodbine/Danforth!!Must we hear an emergency vehicle going up and down every 30 seconds of the day too!!Have to keep the windows closed all the time!!!
You'd think so, but I heard working at night isn't optimal and poor for workers morale so that's likely why construction work is rarely done at night in this country.
Lol so everyone that lives around the gardiner doesn't deserve to sleep for 3+ years so you can drive a car into the city that has provided train service to all its suburbs.
@@mzakaria10lighting construction sights adequately is also pretty expensive.
@@zachweyrauch2988 yeah, that and I'm pretty sure they charge a premium hourly rate as well for night work
@@mzakaria10 There is work they do at night I've seen them work paving roads on the hwy
Too much too much
